What can one do with a business degree?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 07:26 PM PDT

I really want to go into business, and eventually start a business, but its obviously risky to just start a business right out of college. I was doing some thinking and i would feel way safer if i had a job or career i could go into, and live off of for a while, with a business degree.

I have plans for a few businesses I'm going to try out, but i wouldn't be able to live off of them right outta college. Once im confident enough and able to commit to my business plans, I'll do so, but i would like a main job first.

I just graduated highschool and currently working at Taco Johns lol. I have a few side hustles and learning to dropship which isnt going so well. I need to put more time into it. Eventually, I'm going to start a fashion brand. Thats my goal in life. There'll be a few side hustles in between though. I could live off doing odd jobs and creating r/sweatystartup businesses, but i crave stability in my finances.

    Any advice is appreciated <333.

How to Make Demo Videos that Convert and Drive Sales

    Posted: 07 Aug 2020 01:34 AM PDT

Do you ever find yourself looking for unboxing videos on YouTube to get a feel for the new gadget? Maybe you already decided on buying it but still wanted to have a look. Remember those early Apple product launches? Apple as a brand was built on those turtleneck product launches. There is something inherently captivating about demo videos.

Steve Jobs said, "People don't know what they want until you show it to them."

This is exactly why Apple has a net worth of $1 Trillion. Demo videos are a great way to connect with your audience and build trust. It creates an intimacy between a lead and your product. Demo videos are done right to convert faster than OTOs (one-time offers).

Question for eCommerce folks with lots of inventory / SKUs

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 11:05 PM PDT

If I've 500+ products SKUs, and I sell via 2 channels (Etsy and website), how do I keep track of the stocks left? It would be easy if it's just one channel (website), but each time people buy from these 2 channels, it gets messy. I'm currently using Google sheets as a central tracking tool, and each time people buy X amount from the website and Etsy, I deduct from the spreadsheet.

Is there a neater way though? Some kind of service or app solution? How do others handle this?

    Paying for Mentorship

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 10:48 PM PDT

Wanted to get your guys opinion on paying for a mentorship.

Personally I think if you charge for a mentorship your not really a mentor. It turns a relationship/connection into a consumer/customer which rubs me the wrong way personally.

Ive seen an influx in influencers creating "mentorship programs" to me it feels like those forex groups you get offered every once and a while. Just a money grab and complete waste of time.

If you charge for mentoring are you really a mentor?

    What are your thoughts?

Did you ever pay for a mentor? Was it worth it?

PIP, do I quit or let them fire me?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 02:40 PM PDT

I'm struggling with this.. Long story short I reported my manager to HR because she was being awful and I was getting drug into conflicts she has with another employee.. A week later I am placed on a PIP. Unfortunately, no matter what I do even following exact written instructions by her I am given a failure in my pip.. I have escalated this and been told too bad.. so, I'm set to get fired on the 14th the day before I start law school.. I am waiting to hear on 2 jobs.. One of which is at the school I'm attending... But, this is one of the best jobs on my resume and I don't want to have to explain why I got fired.. or have that in my reputation... Any advice would be helpful!

What should I expect in a high school business class?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 04:51 PM PDT

I'm a rising senior and I'm planning on majoring in business when I go to Uni, but I haven't really taken too many steps to do business oriented classes in high school (mainly due to lack of access to them). What should I expect in a high school business class, is it basically just practical math?

Also, are there any college courses I could take this year that would help make my resume more appealing?
