[TL;DR Strategies] Getting to 2M monthly visitors on Pinterest

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 01:52 AM PDT

Hi all, came across an article the other day and decide to share the the main points. Here is my 1-min TL;DR summary of Brittany's strategy to get 2 Million viewers on her Pinterest account monthly.

    Who's behind it?

Brittany Finkle, Founder of Happily Ever Borrowed, a premiere, luxury, e-boutique that rents bridal accessories to brides for their wedding day.

    What are the results?

    - 2.1M monthly views
    - Drove over 50% of total social traffic & 50% of conversions

    Strategies

    1) Personalized Wedding BoardsWhat

    • Brittany creates visual boards of wedding content like this on her Pinterest account for their target consumer (brides) to peruse
    • it is a way to show her brand is keeping ahead and is knowledgeable about trends in the industry.

    Schedule

    • re-pins their social media content once a day
    • a few minutes a day to pin a few inspirational photos
    • Brittany don't post new pins that often
    • she takes existing pinned content and re-pins it to the top of the board
    • this helps to show engagement on your feed
    • use an automation tool like BoardBooster to automate the job

    Content

    • although Pinterest is image-focused, people are also interested in content like helpful tips and tricks
    • create themes around each board that are relevant to your brand
    • link it back to Instagram or Facebook page to drive traffic
    • just start pinning, it doesn't have to be your own content

    2) Board Organization

    • boards created must be relevant to your brand
    • must reflects the brand image you're trying to get across
    • no specific order in board arrangements
    • but Brittanny keeps their "Borrow-able Baubles" up top
    • as these are their actual products that they are renting/selling

    3) Pin Design

    • 600x900px or any 2x3 ratio is the best size
    • add text with your pin helps convey the image's purpose directly
    • combines education with beautiful imagery to capture the right audience
    • include the company's logo somewhere so that users can refer to the brand without even clicking through

    4) Analyze your customers Data

    • use Pinterest data to see how many customers are pinning which pictures
    • discover demand by identifying people are pinning one item/content more than another

    5) Pinterest Ads

    Identify products and content demand

    • create a quiz through Typeform and drive users to take the quiz via Pinterest ads
    • able to understand what styles of accessories are in demand
    • capture potential customers' email addresses
    • craft content accordingly

    How to use Pinterest Ads

    • create engaging titles to content using tools easily like Canva
    • Pinterest is like a visual Google; the better the image, the better the results
    • target your audience like FB/Insta Ads & get direct on how people are searching and help your items show up
    • Brittany advised that the cost is also lower than Facebook or Instagram
    • Start by testing some ads,
    • spend $10-50 just to test what you're doing and see if it helps drives traffic or sales

    6) Be Patient

    Pinterest Following

    • Don't focus too much on your following, it takes time
    • followers number doesn't mean more credibility

    Is my company in trouble?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 11:34 PM PDT

I work for a tech company owned by a private equity firm. After our 1st quarter of this year, executives were told to take a pay cut and employees have to take 2 weeks of furlough by the end of the fiscal year. I know we are in the middle of a pandemic. Does this mean that my company is in trouble?
