    1940s Stock Certificate

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 11:19 AM PDT

I inherited a stock certificate indicating a couple shares of a company purchased back in the 1940s. I know these are not likely worth anything, but I'm genuinely curious. From what I can tell in my quick internet searching, the company no longer exists in the same structure of the time of the share purchase (acquisition possibly).

I've found a couple sites that you can pay ~$50 for experts to do some deep research and track down their current worth. Anyone have experience doing their own research on older paper stocks or recommendations for a good service?

    ***Edit to add company info.

The company is Plough Inc, which looks to have eventually merged under Merck. I've reached out to Merck's Transfer Agent (based on rec's from google). Will update here as I make progress.

    Sold

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 08:03 AM PDT

Just sold my shares of CCL, PENN, and DKNG. More then doubled my money on all of them.

My only position left is MGM.

I know very little about the stock market I got into it 2 months ago bc a friend said I could make money since most stocks crashed. Now I have no idea where to go from here as my initial strategy was to profit off of stocks wrecked by corona virus. I feel like I know nothing about what to invest in now or what is a good value as the market seems to be back to normal.

It seems as if I should dump all the money into MIcrosoft, Apple, etc. any advice is appreciated

DGLY and AAXN stand to reap profits from the house bill today — hundreds of millions of dollars (Reuter’s)

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 09:02 AM PDT

    Wednesday is the big day.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-minneapolis-police-protests/push-to-reform-u-s-police-intensifies-ahead-of-floyd-funeral-idUSKBN23F0L1

    https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6939045-Justice-in-Policing-Act.html

This legislation expects to require nationwide use of body cameras, according to congressional sources (Section 372). Also reported in major outlets (APnews, Reuter's, NYTimes, CNBC).

    • DGLY recently sold $2.5mil of cameras to the KCPD, which has only 1,400 police officers, as each camera costs $500-$1,500.
    • There are 150,000 federal uniformed officers and an additional 650,000 state and local officers.
    • Some rough math tells us that this is an estimated $225mil-nearly $1bil in revenue.
    • This is not solely confined to state lines Canada as well utilizes Axon and Digital Ally cameras as well. The Calgary Police Dept has Digital Ally. Toronto set to begin to using cameras this summer.
    • During the Ferguson riots, DGLY hit $30 without any legislation motion.
    • DGLY just unveiled a new subscription program this morning for its cameras to offset an offering revision that had already been in the works far before the riots.

Should this legislation not pass, there is still great demand for these cameras at the state level. Regardless of whether this legislation passes I do believe we can see AAXN approaching $110 or higher and DGLY approaching $20.

    DGLY $5c 6/19 + shares AAXN $100c 6/19, $110c July

    DKNG - why the hype?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:26 AM PDT

First, I am from Denmark, huge soccer fanatic and I occasionally do some sports betting once in a while.

So, I have been reading all the fuzz about DKNG and I know that the majority of the people here are US based, so I understand that sports betting apparently have been illegal in several states (all?), correct? So, I just quickly ran some numbers - please read this through and down downvote me yet haha, but from 2019 DKNG had"According to filings posted Thursday, 2019 revenues came in at $323 million*, but the company's net loss almost doubled year-on-year from* $76 million to $142 million*."* (https://www.legalsportsreport.com/39020/draftkings-2019-revenue-report/) and comparing with the stocks market cap of 12.292B atm, it seems outright crazy (unless there's something I don't know about).Alright, why look back though, when you invest for future gains, I know. You say it is the technology and platform which is great and therefore it will grow a lot. But is it just because you are not aware of the big sports betting companies outside the US?

Again, I am from Denmark and in Europe sports betting is huge and there are some super big players. Check companies like BET365 "gaming revenue hit £2.98b, up 10% from fiscal 2017-18, while operating profit rose 12% to £767.1m and after-tax profit gained 16% to £681.7m."

    Ladbrokes-Coral Group 2.5 Billion GBP / 30000 employeesPaddy Power Betfair Plc 1.75 Billion GBP / 8000 employeesWilliam Hill Plc 1.7 Billion GBP / 16000 employeesBet365 Group Ltd 2.3 Billion GBP / 3500employees888 Holdings Plc 600 Million GBP /1600 employeesBetfred 800 Million GBP / 1000 employees (https://playright.co.uk/betting/biggest-companies/)

These companies above are just UK based. There are a lot more in Europe - you get the gist.

So, why is it that DKNG has so much value? I have a super hard time imagining that the platform is better than all of those above, which have huge budgets and honestly I use Bet365 personally, they livesteam the games on your phone etc., great platform, super responsive etc. Is it because the majority in here has narrowed down their focus on US based companies only? I see no reason why the above mentioned companies shouldn't be able to gain huge chunks of the US market? I mean, I can bet on anything there, even US college/lower tier football/basketball, I can bet on who's going to be the next POTUS (Biden has a lead according to Bet365), all sorts of E-sport events, there's literally ANYTHING. I'm genuinely curious and want to know why it is such a "good" investment?

EDIT: Okay, so to write it super quick. If, and this "IF" is crucial, the US sports betting market is regulated such that US customers are exclusive to US sports betting companies, I can see where the hype is coming from ish. However, IF, the regulations lift and the European companies can enter the US market, I believe that you underestimate these monsters of betting companies and I do believe with the cash that they're sitting, can take a huge piece of the market, which means that DKNG's valuation based on % of the marketshare is wrong.

Just wanted to thank the guy that put me on $NKLA, hands down my greatest investment move of all time.

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:13 PM PDT

Side note — FOMO is real. The valuation of market cap makes absolutely NO sense at all right now. Please do some DD before you enter a position in a company with no revenues so far.

Disclaimer: I purchased shares at an average price of $34. I am a firm believer in renewable energy tech and hydrogen fuel cell technology. The US automotive market is notorious for a lack of innovation/growth, hence Nikola's effort in tapping into the European automotive market first.

The case for an uranium bull market and three companies well positioned to take full advantage of it

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:16 PM PDT

Uranium has been in a decade long bear market now (with the last bull markets coming in 2007 and 2011), which started after the Fukushima reactor meltdown and the subsequent closing of more nuclear reactors in Japan and around the world. It is one of, if not the, most hated market out there. There are however signs that the market is ready for another bull run in the near future, which will make the share prices of some of these uranium companies look like pennies on the dollar in a couple of years.

What are some of these catalysts that will spark a uranium bull run? The three most prominent ones are: 1. The rising uranium price. Most producers need a uranium price of at least 50 to 60 dollars to even start pulling uranium out of the ground, not to mention turning a good profit on all those pounds. The price has rissen from around 24 dollars to over 33 dollars in the last few weeks, prices last seen at the end of 2016. 2. So why should the price go up? Because if it doesn't, no more uranium will be produced and stockpiles are running out, while demand is ever increasing. It's quite simple, the price either goes up or the lights go out. 3. New reactors are built around the world, with many poised to come online in the coming decade. China and India are leading this charge, but countries like Japan are also restarting their reactors. With ever increasing population comes increasing energy demand and uranium is the only viable option to meet this demand and not boost climate change even more.

With all that being said, here are three companies I would recommend you look at if you are interested in investing in uranium:

    Cameco: 2007 high: USD 55,60 2011 high: USD 42,28 2020 high: USD 10,96

Cameco is the second biggest uranium producer in the world and they have a market cap of over 4 billion dollars. They own the biggest conventional uranium mine in the world in MCarthur river, but they also own (or have a stake in) in half of the 10 best uranium mines in the 'western' world. They have been buying uranium in the spot market at these low prices, so won't immediately have to start up the operation and can make sure everything is done in the best way without needing to rush to production.

They are the safest play in the uranium market if you are not counting ETF's and are poised to profit greatly in a bull market. They will more than likely not give you a 10x return on investment like some other companies will, but they will definitely increase greatly.

Energy Fuels Inc: 2007 high: CAD 267,50 2011 high: CAD 69,50 2020 high: CAD 2,69

The biggest producer in the United States, they own the biggest uranium mine in White Mesa Mill and produce large amounts of both uranium and vanadium, both of which are highly sought after for industey uses. They will also be the biggest beneficiaries if section 232 is finally passed and when the 2021 plan to buy thousands of pounds of uranium by the government kicks in. It also helps that both Trump and Biden are supporters of nuclear energy.

With an experienced CEO, lots of backers and a recent study showing the possibility to mine for rare material at White Mesa, their share price could increase tenfold in an uranium bull market.

    Denison Mines: 2007 high: CAD 15,86 2011 high: CAD 4,08 2020 high: CAD 0,49

The owner of the Wheeler River project, they are backed by the Lundin family, who made their 2.5 billion dollar fortune with mining operarions all around the world. Their current project is especially interesting, because Denison Mines has found perhaps the best single uranium deposit in the world. Their Phoenix project at Wheeler River has showed a 19.1% grade uranium sample. For context, between 0,5 and 1 is decent, while anything above 4 is considered great. This means they have the best grade in the world. Adding to that, this uranium is relatively close to the ground, which makes their operating cost an insanely cheap 9 dollars per pound. They could turn a great profit right now if they would be producing, let alone when prices go up even more. Their second project, named Gryphon, is more similar to a regular uranium mine, but with a lot of uranium to mine out which will last them well into the 2030's.

It has to mentioned that the projects will not come online until 2024 and 2030 respectively if all goes well, which might cause some potential investors to skip over them. This should not be a worry however, since the projects are of such quality that they will be of great profit for the company, not to mention that a uranium bull market tide will also raise the Denison ship.

TLDR: a uranium bull market is coming in the next few years and the companies in this sector will profit greatly from it after a decade long bear market and insanely low share prices. My recommendations are: Cameco, Energy Fuels Inc and Denison Mines.

Disclaimer: I own shares in all of these companies. Do your own due diligence when investing and never take one person's word for it and only invest what you are willing to lose, especially in a sector like uranium.

If you're in Airlines look at TSA put through numbers

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:46 AM PDT

    Link here

This represents the daily number of passengers the TSA processes. Taking today's numbers and comparing to a month ago we've seen a 100% gain in passengers. At this rate we should reach 50% of 2019 numbers by August. Airlines have alot more room to run. Not to mention vaccines will cause an immediate spike in passengers.

My DD: Why you should consider buying SPCB

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 10:17 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I have had blessed trades thanks to the insightful DD some of the users of this sub do. I want to thank them for it. Now i'd like to do my part:

    What is SPCB?

SuperCom is a global leader in secured digital solutions, created in Israel in 1988 and is currently operating the USA, UK, China, Poland, Panama to name a few.

    What does SPCB offer?

State-of-the-art biometric identification and cyber security solutions to protect your nation

Improve efficiency with real-time data on your patients and medical assets

Provide monitoring, tracking and rehabilitation programs for offenders to promote public safety

Real-time location tracking of valuable cargo and inventory in transport

Comprehensive and robust mobile payment and POS solutions

Why should you invest in SPCB?

According to an article of The Guardian city council members declare intent to abolish embattled agency and replace it with an alternative model in wake of George Floyd's killing. Tony Williams, a member of MPD150, a Minneapolis group whose literature is on building a "police-free future".

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jun/07/minneapolis-city-council-defund-police-george-floyd

Currently the organisation is valued at a market cap of 40.389M and a beta of 0.04. It is valued so cheap compared to $MARK considering they are going to be a big player in the defund police space. They are actively working in the electronic criminal monitoring space for the entire world.

The CEO purchased up to 6 Million shares on the 19th of March 2020 because he believes the current stock levels do not reflect the high intrinsic value of the company.

    https://www.supercom.com/pr

Their offender tracking electronic monitoring solutions are now more important than ever. April first a new government agency in Canada adopted SuperCom's technology:

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/supercom-deploys-additional-home-confinement-113500888.html

My opinion is that the profitable company will get huge contracts in the near future to help alleviate the defund of the police.

    https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SPCB

    https://www.supercom.com

Id like to plug their YouTube channel where they show the M2M Electronic Monitoring Solution but the sub does not accept Youtube links. They are simply called SuperCom on YouTube.

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:43 AM PDT

Obviously this rapid growth won't last forever, and it may slow down in the next few days and even adjust downward since this may be a fluke

Do you think the next few days are a good time to sell airline stock, or is it a hold for the long term since eventually even if It drops now, it will regain to around it's pre covid levels

Citi Says Bear Market Rally Since March "Driven By Short Covering" (05/29/2020)

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:21 PM PDT

"Today, it is Citi's turn to dwell on this topic, with strategists Beata Manthey and Robert Buckland writing that the 31% global equity rally since March lows has probably been driven by short covering, given the $120b outflows the asset class suffered over the period." Read more

Is it short covering? Judging by the action we keep seeing in tickers like CHK, and HTZ, there very well could be some truth to that statement

Too late to invest in NKLA?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:28 PM PDT

I have been monitoring it for quite some time now, but missed the opportunity to get in today. Do we see any growth potential left? For me, I don't need to make 100% profit like it did today, but if I can still make 15-20% I'd probably invest. Anyone have a projection where this goes from here? I can see it going to a couple hundred a share but how long it takes it to get to there is I guess the question.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! It might just be a FOMO thing seeing as I absolutely knew about the stock but didn't invest earlier on my gut instinct.
