I recently had an MRI and was charged $180 by the facility (after insurance/coinsurance), I was reviewing the claim on my insurer's website and they indicate I should have only paid $60 out of pocket.

Do I contact my insurer or the facility where I had the MRI?

Confused with total loss inventory request

    Posted: 04 May 2020 12:43 AM PDT

The insurance asked us to supply information on items marked with an asterisk. We combed through the itemized list and have not found one. The instructions are a bit odd: with the items with an asterisk (*) write down, under the "total cost" header, who it belonged to and under the "condition" header where we got it from.

We are not even on the policy. Are they tricking us?

They even put estimated replacement cost at $8194.00

Someone hit my parked car while I was in it

    Posted: 03 May 2020 10:47 PM PDT

Someone hit my parked car with me and my son in it AFTER I had just bought an item off of them for me to gift for Mother's Day. I was sitting in a Walgreens parking lot waiting for them to come. We exchange the gift and cash then I tell my son to get back in his car seat and put on his seat belt. While getting situated and ready to go this man I just bought the stuff off of rear ends me on the drivers with the back of his car. It was his girlfriends car and they was both in the car including their baby. From what I could see they had no damages. the back drivers side of my car is badly damaged but the car is still drivable. When this man backed out it was like he rammed the gas and went straight into me. He hit me so hard that the car moved forward some. I didn't have my seat bet on yet so I jerked and hit my left side. I went to the hospital and they said nothing is broken and my lung is fine beside a bruise and there will be some swelling to come. My question to someone who could help is what to do next. I filed a police report and I talked with my insurance. Luckily we had the same insurance company but the man wasn't insured but his girlfriend was and it was her car. Oh and let me mention he let it be known to me that it was his fault and also tried to talk me into letting him pay to get it fixed. Not knowing what to do I almost agreed but then I called my family and asked what to do. By the time police got there, they was gone but I had all the information and gave it to the police plus a witness who seen everything because they was there for the same reason. Also my son is fine he was already strapped in his carseat and I asked a million times if he was hurt and he told me no so he was not seen at the hospital. Sorry it's all over the place I just didn't know what to do and my nerves are still all over the place. I'm in Ohio too if that helps.

Question about billing for insurance for a doctor's visit

    Posted: 03 May 2020 11:23 PM PDT

Okay so backstory for myself, I'm transgender (MtF), and have been wanting to get in to see an endocrinologist for a while now. My parents are very unsupportive of me being trans so if I were to go and see an endocrinologist about getting on hormones it would have to be in secret. If of course my insurance (Aetna) would cover the visit, would this visit show up in any mail or something that my parents might see? Just trying to take advantage of their insurance while I can.

Any information I can get is GREATLY appreciated.

    Is this even legal?

    Posted: 03 May 2020 10:26 PM PDT

    Hi,

To make the story short I will jump into it. So I gave birth in the ambulance 7 months ago. I promptly received my bill from the ambulance service, claim went through my insurance company, and ambulance got paid promptly. Out of nowhere, I received a NON-compliant bill for my daughter for the same ambulance service. Soon enough, I started getting calls from collection agency. I had never known the existence of this 'second/daughter' bill or even seeing it since my daughter was born. Called the ambulance service, and they claimed my daughter's bill is active and needs to be paid. It is strange to me because the ambulance service had never file a claim through the insurance, when I asked basically the manager said she didn't know why it was never filed, and shrugs the shoulders. Is this even legal? LOL. They're charging to me and my daughter 2 bills for 1 ambulance ride? They said it is because they treated 2 people. Has my credit been ruined because this unknown bill went to the collection? I live in Texas and I have CIGNA. Thanks

    Progressive Snapshot not registering beeps

    Posted: 03 May 2020 10:03 PM PDT

I plugged in the snapshot device 3 days ago, and have heard beeps a couple times. When I log into my account, i see the trips have been registered with accurate mileage, but I don't see any hard breaks or fast accelerations register on my account. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Does insurance usually pay "up front" for extended dental treatment like braces/Invisalign?

    Posted: 03 May 2020 06:05 PM PDT

I'm on an internship and just qualified for their free dental insurance plan. I'll be here for a few more months and was hoping to take advantage of the benefits while I can.

I'm looking into Invisalign because my teeth have gaps that I'd like to fix. I'll be on the plan for another few months, but the Invisalign process can take 10+ months.

I know that Invisalign is a "pay up front" sort of thing, but it's an extended treatment. If my insurance company covers part of the payment, is this something that would be a dealbreaker? Or would they help me pay up front and then forget about it?

    Car insurance questions.

    Posted: 03 May 2020 02:59 PM PDT

So im looking to buy my own car (2000's corolla under 160k milage or so) for about $2000, +/- $500. Im a 18 year old male in Georgia (Metro atlanta) and i have to pay for my own insurance (i have enough to pay for a few months before my income increases, but im waiting til late may regardless)

I got a quote from USAA and it came to a 323 premium. I played with the liability a bit and made it 50k property damage but only 25k/50k personal injury (state minimum). I also added accident forgiveness which makes the premium $351 a month.

This is so far the cheapest insurance i can find. I can go up to $400 but I'd like to stay lower if i can so im looking for advice. Im planning to move into an apartment with my sister in a few months and i will get the Chapter 35 gi bill when i start college. I will have close to $4000 saved by the end of may.

Tl;dr what are good coverages to have going to a college in the metro atl area with a $2000 corolla?

Lady hit my rear passenger door getting into her car and left a dent. It’s not huge but I’m a little ticked off about it.

    Posted: 03 May 2020 06:54 PM PDT

My boyfriend had just come out of the grocery store and we were sitting in my car, ordering pizza. This lady was getting into her suv and her door flew open and smoked my door. It left a pretty small dent so it doesn't seem like a huge deal, but I've only had my car for a couple of months, so I'd really like it fixed.

She was rude, she said the wind took it. When I asked for insurance, she scoffed and said "really, for that?" I said yes, she took forever digging for it and I took a picture when she finally got back out of her car. Didn't notice until I left that she gave me expired insurance cards. It has her real name and same car, so I'm sure I have at least some of her information.

I really want my car fixed. It was upsetting that she was so rude about it, almost as if she thought I should just deal with the dent, or pay for it myself.

I work at the company that she gave me expired is cards for, not sure if that'll help me or not.

So I know I'll just file the claim through her insurance tomorrow, should I also file an online accident report?

    Affinity Insurance Services inc

So my car was parked in Chicago, and a amazon delivery van ripped the entire front bumper. He and his supervisor exchanged insurance info with me and left.

I'm trying to call the claims department for this company called Affinity Insurance Services where no one seems to pick up. Does anyone know about this company? Whenever I look up on google, it just pops up as AON in downtown Chicago

    Allstate pay per mile insurance

    Posted: 03 May 2020 03:11 PM PDT

I saw an ad that Allstate had auto insurance that is pay per mile. Since I don't drive much I figured I'd get a quote. I drive about 4,000 miles a year and the quote was a whopping $32,000 a month or about $80 per mile. For reference they offered the unlimited mileage plan for $130 a month which confused me. I checked and double checked that they did in fact want yearly mileage and I didn't have any ridiculous coverages. This clearly seems like some kind of bug. Anyone else have this experience?

Car insurance fraud - I believe I know the fraudster but I don't want to get him in trouble

    Posted: 03 May 2020 02:22 PM PDT

    Good evening everyone!

I've been away and a couple of days ago I started to sort out my post. I wasn't expecting any letters, I'm not behind on payments or stuff like that, so most of my post should have been bank statements or spam, so I didn't care that much.

Going through it, much to my surprise I've found out that my car insurance was cancelled because I'm behind on payments. I don't own a car, haven't owned one in my 4 years in England, and my driver's licence is expired for about 10 years.

I have reason to suspect that this was done by someone who used to be close and lived in my house. I know he has financial issues, but I never thought he'd do this. Well, I'm not sure it's him. If it is, I just want to name and shame him in private and I wouldn't like him to go to prison or get a fine. We were friends once and I don't want to cause him more trouble than he probably already is in.

My question is how should I try to find out if it's him? I wouldn't want to accuse him for nothing, but he's literally the only one who could have done this (has had access to my passport, ID card, knows my address and that I still live there).

I have the policy number and the car reg. I assume if he listed me as the policy holder, he would also needed to be listed on the insurance to be able to drive, right? So he'd be down as a 2nd driver?

If I call the insurer and ask who else is listed, will I automatically trigger an internal investigation?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

For those that took all lines adjuster online course with Insurance school, how did the real exam compare to the practice exams?

    Posted: 03 May 2020 01:51 PM PDT

I've been studying for my Texas All lines adjuster exam. I have the online course with Insurance schools and taken 2 of the practice exams you unlock after the online course, first I failed by 2 questions and the 2nd I failed by 1 question.

Two people I work with stated the practice exams are much harder, one stated she was failing the practice exams and passed the real exam with 84%.

So what's your experience with the practice exams with insurance schools vs real exam?

I was in an accident two months ago and they are claiming insurance now.

    Posted: 03 May 2020 11:09 AM PDT

At the time of the accident I believe I crossed a red light. And I ended up hitting their car's front bumper. I admitted fault in person and at the collision center. So the insurance company attempted to call me about this on friday but I was away at the time. I'm suppose to call them back tomorrow. I did tell the collision center I was blinded by the sun rise. What should I say tomorrow regarding this and what should I avoid bringing up for my best interest?

If i switch insurers and a person comes back and sues me for an accident- is that handled by the insurer I had at the time?

    Posted: 03 May 2020 10:00 AM PDT

There is a possibility that a person I was in a car accident with will sue me for bodily injury in the period of time that they have ( a period of three years I believe). They haven't yet and have ignored my insurance's attempt to talk to them but it's still up in the air as far as I can tell. I want to change car insurance since my work gives me a discount but i am worried that my current insurance won't help with lawyers if i am not currently insured by them. Would they help since the lawsuit stems from an accident that occurred while i was under their insurance? or will they say " tough break" since the lawsuit itself came afterwards?

EDIT: I'm in the state of Maryland, USA

    Nationwide SmartDrive

    Posted: 03 May 2020 06:46 AM PDT

For the Nationwide SmartDrive that plugs into the ODB port, can anyone tell me what it actually tracks and how it relays the data to the cloud.

does it track locations? and how does it track speeds? AFAIK it only tracks for rapid acceleration and sudden braking. However i've heard that it track locations for street speed limits and also tracks one changes for blinkers?

Can anyone provide further insight in this for me?

Edit: I'm in Jacksonville Florida and it's an 05 Pontiac Grand Prix

    Question about disability insurance

    Posted: 02 May 2020 11:16 PM PDT

Hello - I have a question about disability insurance. Please be kind. I am in California and am currently receiving state disability payments (CA SDI) and from my former employer, I am receiving long term disability (LTD). I know that my CA SDI claim has about 3 months left on it. I am not sure what happens after that? Assuming I am still disabled, does my CA SDI just come to a complete stop? Will the LTD start paying more? Right now the LTD pays a small amount because I also receive CA SDI, so I am wondering if what will happen to LTD? I am afraid to ask them directly. Please advise. Thank you.

Just updated my insurance to 500k,500k for bodily liability insurance. Also, does anyone know if your own insurance covers if you take a dealerships car for a test drive? Who is liable if you get into an auto accident or hit someone/something??
