PE players' playbook in distressed debt Posted: 03 Apr 2020 09:55 AM PDT Just read this article https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-24/apollo-snaps-up-portfolio-company-debt-touts-250-ways-to-profit For funds that have positions in both debt and equities, how would one make money? Let's say, Apollo has 100% equity in a company and also has some positions in senior secured and unsecured. What are the typical playbooks companies like Apollo would use to mitigate/profit off their position? How likely is it for Apollo to do a chapter 11 restructuring? And I guess if they have 1st lien position they can try to equitize it, but wouldn't it hurt their equity position? [link] [comments] |
