What should i do during this time to keep a flow of income? That's s a very wide question and could get thousands of different answers. So here is some info about myself: i currently run a car detail service in my area, Im ranked No.1 in my town, and usually pull in a large amount of customers per week. But due to the coronavirus it has all came to a halt only two in the past week the week before i seen zero. I average around $60 to $70 an hour gross and after deductions before tax that turns into around 45 to 55. I have around 3k saved up and would like anyones input on what i could do with it to try and start up another source of income during this time and depending on its profit have it continue to make me money. Ive tired dropshipping and instagram influencing but nothing much else. Used to do ebay sales. Dropped $200 into Ford stock at 4.50 at an 8$ call for 9/18 so lets hope that works out. So i thought i would come back to trusty reddit and see what people might give me as an idea. Absolutely anything helps even if its just one word. And if you made it this far just leave an upvote for me if you cant think of anything, all of it would be greatly appreciated. Ill be replying to comments almost instantly hopefully. Thank you for your time.

I have a Business idea for an app that makes it easer to donate to charity. I would appreciate if I could receive some feedback for this idea and I would like to know if this idea already exists.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 09:17 PM PDT

I have a business idea for an app where you can link your credit card/ debit card, Pay Pal, Venmo, or Apple Pay Account and whenever you make a purchase your amount due would be rounded up to the nearest highest dollar or cent amount. and the spare change from your everyday purchases would be donated to charities and causes of the users choice. In a way it would be similar to the acorns app but this app would be for donating to charities and causes instead of investing your money. Please let me know what you think of my idea and if this already exists somewhere. Thank you!

Client wants me to develop a cheaper product.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 08:30 PM PDT

So I have recently acquired a white label deal with an offshore brand. They have been getting similar products to mine made from my country. Compared to their current supplier mine are superior in quality, packaging, and how it's made. This is their feedback.

Since we started the initial order he's been negotiating with me about my wholesale prices. Please note that his initial order is just 100 units. He wants me to move the other production to my facility as well. I am a home business owner. Everything is done by me. Handmade.

I've tried numerous times to explain to the client that why my products are expensive. Which his response is that he's trying to run a business and wants to make profit. Another thing he keeps brining up is that "we haver to figure out a way to bring your cost down" "let's try to brings stuff down from alibaba"
I've been doing this for over five years, from RnD to finding suppliers. Spent plenty of time doing this in the past. I've been there done that. He's just being a greedy little bitch. His business matters to me, so I've been keeping it professional and polite.

Recently that I told him that the new products he wants could be done for a lower pricing but, there has to be a larger order (my supplier wants me to place a larger order). I could RnD for a different way of making things. But, he wants me to match his current supplier. I wanted to know if I am doing things right here. I sometimes feel like people walk all over me since I try to be nice. This been bugging me for a while now.

'If executives didn't have massive salaries and bonuses, we could all get X, Y, or Z' misconception addressed.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 08:13 PM PDT

<Family Member> is a Chief Officer (one of 5) for a major nationwide retail chain. They have over 1,000 employees. Ground level employees make as close to minimum wage as they can get away with; management makes around 25-35k and regional management can get up to 55-60k. Execs make mid six figures + options so about 1-2mil.

We all know these companies, we could list handfuls - Walmart, Gamestop, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, Whole Foods -- the list goes on and on.

The big misconception we have, is 'If executives didn't have massive salaries and bonuses, we could all get X, Y, or Z' whether X be pay raises, benefits, bonuses, etc.

We have this misconception (and it's just that, a misconception) because executives do indeed, make drastically more than lower level employees.

So it would be logical to assume if they didn't make as much, we could spread the wealth. This is a mathematical fallacy.

The money it would take to do the things people talk about, is ASTRONOMICALLY more than an executives salary. Most executives make less than $1-2 million. If you fired most executives, and put their salary directly in the pockets of the employees, each employee gets a couple dollars.

A benefits package for a company with 1k employees can easily be over a hundred million dollars.

Is 1-2 million TONS more than minimum wage? Of course. It's not equal at all. That doesn't mean it's the executives salary that is the cause of their minimum wage.

TL/DR: Executive salaries are high, but no where near enough to cover costs for things like company wide benefits/pay raises. Exec salaries account for about 1% of the cash that would be needed for company wide stimulus.

Is it illegal to falsely advertise going out of business?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 09:25 PM PDT

There is a business being advertised on facebook that was just created a week or two ago, but they immediately started advertising that they were "closing" their business down and having a 65% off sale, to attract buyers into thinking they're getting a good deal. Is this actually legal to do???

    Owners Draw vs. Payroll

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 02:17 PM PDT

My wife and I own a General Partnership in Washington state. We have never had Payroll and typically pay ourselves (as needed) by simply transferring funds into our personal account. I'm sure there is a name for this.

According to the new SBA Payroll Protection Program (PPP), businesses employing less than 500 employees are eligible.

    Would we be eligible?

I am currently working on a project to understand what the annual expenses of internship programs are for mid to large enterprises. If anyone who works in HR or in the finance department can provide me insight regarding the typical average annual costs of the implementation of Internship programs, I would be incredibly grateful.
