    United Healthcare Sucks Ass Insurance

    United Healthcare Sucks Ass Insurance

    United Healthcare Sucks Ass

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 01:07 PM PST

I recently started using Nurx, an online company that helps supply birth control to consumers. It's kind of like curology for contraceptives and other reproductive health services. This company would probably provide a stress free way to obtain birth control for most people, however, United Healthcare is making it super stressful experience for me.

After obtaining my prescription, my customer service person placed an order for me to get my prescription. However, a few minutes later, I checked the orders tab and it had been canceled, saying that there were problems billing my insurance. I asked my customer service representative what was going on, and they said that my insurance denied me coverage because "they were not my primary healthcare provider."

Since I am in college, I am still dependent on my parent's income and health insurance, so my dad is the primary carrier for our health insurance. I texted him asking whether United Healthcare was our only health insurance and he said yes. I sent him the screenshot of what my customer service person said, and my dad mentioned that this had happened to him a month prior when he was trying to get his medication from the pharmacy. A MONTH EARLIER.

He called United Healthcare again that day and got approval for my order. United Healthcare said that they had not fixed the problem, but it was on the back log to be fixed. They told my dad that they would only give me a 24-hour window to order my birth control, or else i wouldn't get coverage on it.. I placed my order yesterday but I have no clue whether the insurance went through within the 24 hour time period.

Has anyone ever had this happened to them? I have never heard of a company doing this and it really pisses me off.

Statefarm charged me after I suspended my insurance.

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 09:11 AM PST

I got into a accident in January and cancelled my insurance because the claim had settled. Today I found out Statefarm charged me for insurance even though I went and got my account suspended last week. Can I get my money back or is this normal?

Medical bill I didn’t know about was sent to collections, past appeal deadline. Am I SOL?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 01:14 PM PST

On Oct 19, 2018 I visited Medcare to get Xrays for a sprained wrist I suffered at home. Used insurance, paid my copay and went on with life. A couple of months later I move to a new address and have mail forwarded with USPS.

Earlier this week a debt collector calls me about an unpaid bill sent to collections for that exact visit. After doing some digging, I found that the medical provider mistakingly filed this as a work incident, thus being denied by BCBS. The insurance agent, after allegedly speaking with a supervisor, said they sent a letter stating the denial, but I received no such notice. Since it is now past the appeal deadline, they are standing by their decision.

The amount owed is only $250 and I feel as if I hit a wall. Whether I pay or not, it will be on my otherwise flawless credit report. Is there any recourse for someone in my position?

Diminished Value Claim with your own Insurance

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 05:22 PM PST

My car got hit while parked and apparently the driver did not have enough insurance to cover all the cars involved. My car was badly damaged but not enough for it to be considered total loss. So I went ahead and pay the deductible on my insurance to get it repaired. I heard claiming a diminished value is the way to go to get some money back, but would I claim it through mine insurance or the one at fault?

    Thank you in advance!

    Policy For Multiple Cars

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 08:58 PM PST

Hi, I currently have State Farm insurance, covering homeowners, renters (for my girlfriend's stuff in my house), and 5 cars. While there are small discounts for multiple lines of insurance and possibly multiple cars, from what I can tell I'm nearly paying full freight on each of 5 individual cars (2018 F-150, 2018 Accord, 2018 Leaf, 2019 Corvette, 1980 Fiat).

Of course among all the cars, total mileage is around 20K/year. So it seems a little silly to be paying about $5000/year when 1 car drive 20K miles/year would cost $1000. It's unlikely much untoward could happen to my cars when they're safely in the garage.

Is there any other kind of insurance available that would just be a blanket "cover all the cars" policy? I've avoided looking around too much because State Farm always tells me I'm on a special "mutual policy" with guaranteed renewal; not sure if that's really worth that much though.

    Any suggestions would be welcome!

    Total Loss? (Link in comments)

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 04:17 PM PST

So I was hit by an active Lyft driver on Friday of last week. I have yet to hear back from either Lyft or Progressive (other drivers insurance) about my car. Its an '05 Acura 133,xxx miles on it replaced the transmission in it less than 1.5yrs ago. Do y'all think it will be a total loss or if anyone has any info about Lyft/Uber involved accidents that would be awesome.

Seeking advice about an umbrella policy.

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 03:26 PM PST

My household has normal/minimal insurance. We have insurance on our home and on our cars. The car insurance is the standard required (Oregon) and the home insurance is whatever is required by our mortgage company. I'm pretty sure we need to add additional insurance to cover things like somebody getting hurt on our property, or hurt in a car accident beyond the amount we're insured at. The problem is that I'm a bit ignorant on this topic. What is a good amount for an umbrella policy? Does one policy cover both home and auto? Any general advice? Thanks in advance for any thoughts you have.

    Wrong claim on my policy

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:33 AM PST

Today, I did a claim on my windshield via online and found out that there is an open claim case on my car in 2017. I never know anything about this claim or the accident. So I called my car insurance claim number and asked about the case. In the end, I was told that someone called in and give them my policy number to claim for the incident that happens in Orlando, FL. The car insurance did give them the money for the medical. The claim paperwork is sent to an address in Orlando, FL while my account address is in Alabama. The document of the auto service stated that the car was brought in is 2015 Toyota Camry, my car is 2014 Toyota Camry. Also, the name that was given while making the claim is not even the same name or last name on my policy. I was told that this person is also covered under the company during that period, which I don't even know if it is the truth or they just said that to calm me down. The person I spoke with told me that there is nothing they can do and told me to contact the adjuster. I called the adjuster and no one answer the phone so I left the message. I called my agent and told them about my situation. The agent told me that the adjuster is very good with a reply back within 24 hours. Its been 2 days and I have not heard anything from the adjuster. My agent said they can't do anything since the adjuster is the one with all the information and knows what to do in this situation.

My dad lied about a hit and run and call to adjust again.

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 03:07 PM PST

Hi guys, my dad called to the insurance and tell that he got into a hit and run but the truth is he swayed his car. The inspector found out the barks in the car and told him to tell the truth to the claim department. He continued to lie to the claim and I found out. And then I called the inspector to tell the truth and he said thank you and he's gonna review it. Is everything fine or do I need to do something else. I really scared for my dad right now. Thank you so much.

Accidentally completely knocked over a fire hydrant and and my car sustained some damage, called the cops, but not my insurance yet...

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 05:18 PM PST

So here's the thing, it was my fault for making a stupid mistake, I'm new to driving, I made a left turn on a 2 lane road where both lanes go right... This was when I was exiting a gas station right after I filled my car's tank up with gas... So yea when I made the wrong turn and I saw cars coming in my direction I panicked and put my foot on the gas so i could quickly drive on top of the side walk to avoid incoming traffic, I didn't realize both lanes were going in the same direction... Just my luck that there was a fucking fire hydrant right there on the side walk right in front of the fucking gas station which I knocked over. So as this happened.

I need help with some car stuff, I'm not very experienced in this.

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 01:06 PM PST

Image So I ended up doing this to car 2 weeks back. Was stuck in a bad situation but I'm sure there was something I could've done to avoid this. I talked to the guy and he said he'll get it checked out and send me the information on text.

The cost of it I'm not very experienced in insurance but this cost seems expensive. If this is normal that's fine and I'd like to know, but I'm really just looking for help here.

First major accident that was not my fault...

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 09:22 AM PST

Hey gang! Yesterday I was involved in a t-boned accident in my 2012 Tundra. The person blew a stop sign coming up to a highway going at a good rate of speed. I tried to avoid it but they ultimately put their emblem of their minivan right into my right rear tire. The extent of the damage I can see is my shocks/leaf springs broke on both sides, box, passenger cab in the rocker, rear passenger door, brake lines, drive shaft, possible rear axle, rear bumper all damaged.

    My questions are as follows:

    1. The person driving had progressive insurance but spoke minimal to no English. The sheriff told me that he was driving without having proper SR22 insurance. So he got a citation for that. I filed a claim thru progressive but am not sure if he is indeed covered. Would the progressive claims rep inform me if he was indeed not current or up to date on his end? Like if I wouldn't be able to collect anything at all from progressive?

    2. My truck was purchased for $17k 6 months ago and have roughly $5k left on the loan. At the time of my purchase the truck had a trade in value of around 17-18k, and a retail value close to 21-22k. We opted to not carry GAP as we were in the process of paying it off in 9 months from purchase date. If it is totaled, how much would we realistically expect to get? How will that work with the outstanding bank loan?

    3. What is the absolute worst case scenario and best case scenario given my story? (I guess the best case has already occurred as I wasn't hurt in any way)

    Thanks for the help!

Two accidents in one month, recent larger one is not-at-fault. Should I go through insurance or handle privately?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 06:16 AM PST

This month the gods of luck decided to smite me for whatever reason. Hopefully someone here can guide me on how to handle this properly.

Mind you, been driving over a decade and never got into any accidents but in one solid month time frame (both accidents happened on the exact day 1 month apart from each other) I have somehow managed to ruin an otherwise great driving record.

    Situation:

Last month got into a tiny at-fault parking lot bump, no real damage, made the claim & insurance rates jumped regardless of it being my first time accident. Few days ago I shopped around for a new policy, got a great rate from another insurer and was planning to go to the new agent next week to make the switch before my next payment date (spoke to the new provider and they said it was totally OK and they would cancel my previous in the proper time frame etc). To my wondrous luck, yesterday, I got into a completely not-at-fault accident on the highway. I was side swiped and my car has a large driver door dent, scratches and I need a new side mirror. Obtained footage, photos and a Police report stating other driver was at full fault. She has some scratches on her car but nothing compared to the damage on mine. I discussed with the other driver about waiting until I spoke to the mechanic to see if this is worth filing a claim right away to avoid another jump in both of our premiums but also to give me a day to think about how this will work for my provider transition decision. This all happened on a highway in Brooklyn, NY.

I will be bringing my car to a family mechanic shop today to assess the potential cost of damages. I believe the dent can be popped out and the scratches are not really a huge deal considering its a slightly older vehicle and minor aesthetics are not my issue. I also want to make it clear I'm not trying to screw this woman over and make money from this at all, I want to obtain an honest estimate get my car fixed and see if its worth for both of us to keep this private, if she agrees to it.

Let's say she doesn't agree to pay out of pocked and wants to file a claim, I know I have to deal with my current provider for this claim but can I still switch to a new provider next week before my next payment date? I'm aware of the CLUE system (or whatever it is) and will make it aware to the new insurance if the claim gets filed.

If she does agree to pay out of pocket, how do I also guarantee a method of payment considering she is a random stranger from another part of a very large city?

What do you think is my best move here?

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheapest car insurance?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 09:20 AM PST

I am a new adult who bought their first car (yay!) I need to get insurance. I have looked at all the name brand ones, The general, Esurance, Progressive, etc. the cheapest so far is esurance for 164 a month. I can do that but it's very expensive and I just want liability. My mom says liability should be like 80 dollars. I'm just confused and need advice. Any comment would be very appreciated!!!
