Markets rallying as Italy seems to be getting a grip on the crisis

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 04:26 AM PDT

Spain and Germany could be the next EU epicenter.

America will surpass Spain, Germany and Italy in a couple of weeks

It might be end of April when America gets a grip on the situation

I've been buying. Also selling and rebuying

Going to be 2 bad quarters but will be in the money for Q1 2020

Lifetime buying opportunity. As bad news hits, indices are gonna swing 800 to 1000 either way like a seesaw. Identifying buy points and setting up trades on the right days is the best strategy to take advantage of the volatility.

I buy on red days and dump on green days. Easy money. It's ridiculous how easy this has been.

11.01% rally is best day since 1933

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 01:18 PM PDT

For the data geeks out there. Esp ones likes me who are obsessed with the Great Depression economics from 1920s and 1930s

Stimulus package will pass anytime today or tomorrow and we can expect further upside this week

However, need to tread carefully because when milestones like 50K patients are reached, there will be a tear down

I also don't believe in sending checks alone will help the masses. It's gonnabe a food fight. Besides it's only going to people based on income. If you are over 150K you can assume nothing is coming in the mail.

Besides, that 1000 bucks or 2000 means jack shit for a family with kids. Student loan forgiveness is also not necessary.

What will truly work is suspension of mortgage and credit card payments for three months. There are downstream implications to this but it would be faaar better than sending a check which will evaporate when you make one trip to the store to panic buy for a pandemic

Is this a Pump and Dump?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 05:22 PM PDT

I don't think the stimulus deal as it stands right now will do anything but pump the market up a day or two and cause a major crash. The market went up on speculation of a stimulus package but I don't think the House version of the bill should make it off the President's desk. I think they should put the money that Dems want for windmills, abortions, and the green new deal in the hands of the people and let us choose which markets get saved.

How did the Dow go up by 9% during a global pandemic. What information changed in just 24 hours?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 10:08 AM PDT

How did the stock market go up 9% from yesterday? What information changed from 24 hours ago?

On the outside we are in the middle of a pandemic and our global work force is partially on hold. Our economy is heavily based on consumerism and the Dow is almost up 10%? On the outside it makes zero sense.

I am ranting. Is this because Trump told his old rich guy pact that he will put the stock market over deaths late last night?

They probably already have an inside list of the "top big to fail" that they made last night. This lets the rich investors come in and buy the airline, hotel, and other travel stocks without fear of losing because at this point the stocks are so low if they go any lower the Fed will save the companies.

So if you are an ultra rich guy you basically can throw 50 million at some airlines stocks. 5 years from now those investments can probably quadruple or more.

The stock market is volatile as F. If you have hundreds of millions of dollars you might as well invest in the airlines because what do you have to lose right?

I feel like our "economy" is nothing but a few thousand people with power, money and insider information.

Hey ultra rich people. Can I get a $5 million dollar loan and your insider list of what is to big to fail pretty please? I promise I won't tell anyone any of your secrets if you let me in your club.

    After hour trading question!

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:09 PM PDT

If I buy a stock after hours for let's say $110.15 and it opens the following day at 116.50, how will my transaction play out when it's time to be executed? Let's say hypothetically I only had enough money in my account to buy at 110.15.

    Thanks!

    Need some help with Robinhood

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:47 AM PDT

I was trying to sell an option today that didn't get filled. I had bought a put a week or so ago and I was trying to sell it today. When it didn't sell the first time, I tried again. Unfortunately, it's showing that I know have a put that I've sold off in my account. It looks like a naked sell put (not sure if that is the right term). Anyway, I really don't want that at all. How do I get rid of it/fix this situation?

    Inverse ETFs?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 06:23 PM PDT

This sub and other investing subs all talk about this not being anywhere near the bottom. Of course, no one really knows what's going to happen. My question is if so many people believe that we bearing down, why haven't I seen much about Inverse ETFs on reddit lately? Is there something I'm missing?

    New to investing please help

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 05:37 PM PDT

Tl;Dr - I'm 17 in May and from the Uk and want to find the best place to trade with the lowest fees and most ease. I'm also looking for opinions in investing in KO.

Hi there, I'll quickly state that I'm very very new to investing, like I've not invested yet, in my entire life, but I have been watching this reddit somewhat closely over the past month or so.

Some background information. I am 17 in May and I am from the United Kingdom. I have roughly £5000 to invest right now and I can add roughly £300 a month to this. (I know it's not a lot, but being 16 still I only have a part time job sadly).

My main question is what is the best way to invest? Through a mobile app? What is the easiest way to invest and keep track of my investments and is there any places that don't have fees? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Also the main stocks I am looking into buying are Coca Cola ( KO ), for its long term dividend pay outs, and as it has obviously greatly decreased in price but I feel after this crisis is over it's value will return. I have also been keeping an eye on Apple and Disney and would appreciate any thoughts on this?

Thank you all I'm advance! Hope everything is surviving these hard times!

How come the circuit breaker didn't get triggered during regular trading today? (SP500 is up more tha 7% today)

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 05:28 PM PDT

The futures "limit up" certainly got triggered. But why didn't the stock trading get halted when the market went up by more than 7%?

I remember the rule is for both up and down. What am I missing here?

Is there a way to get all health and medical related news alerts to your phone (stocks)

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:44 AM PDT

Today IMAC is up 450%. IMAC Regeneration Centers combine life science advancements with traditional medical care for movement restricting diseases and conditions. There was an announcement 3 hours ago that said it has

"announced it has implemented a new telehealth option to allow active care patients direct and consistent communications with IMAC medical professionals even while observing "shelter in place" status".

What is the best way to get health/medical related alerts when these articles are released so we can jump on things like this early?

EDIT: Had we seen this article the second it was published we would have made a killing today.

Why is a stock like ULTA up so much today?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 12:44 PM PDT

I can't for the life of me understand why a stock like ULTA is up so much. Stores are closed. They are going to stay closed for at least several more weeks. And people have lost their jobs - certainly won't be buying makeup and getting $300 hair highlights as soon as the store opens. So why the heck would a stock like ULTA be up so much?? Is this because people think the stimulus is going to encourage people to spend a bunch of money at the stores? Is there some financial technical thing I'm missing? I'm so tempted to short this stock.

Bought DIS 96$ puts 4/9 @ 11$ - they are worth 6$ now. Any mouse traps between now and 4/9?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 04:13 PM PDT

Any sense in holding them ? Also bet heavily against Japan buying EWJ 42puts @ 1.45$, those went down by 50% too but have a month to expire. Wondering what's in store ? To cut losses and sell tomorrow or hold out ?

    TVIX this week?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 03:01 PM PDT

With all the seesawing, stimulus bill incoming, unemployment a little further out - why the steep decline on TVIX? I would think we're at the height of volatility still?

What does this mean for Q1 & Q2?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 02:45 PM PDT

I decided this is the time to invest, since I have a little extra money laying around. Obviously today was a great first day (won't last long). But I'm trying to think about the year as a whole. When Q1 for most companies comes out, will there be another large drop? Or, since we all expect earnings to be low for the Quarter, will it stay relatively stable? Not necessarily looking for advice, but would selling before earnings make sense? With the plan to buy back after a drop from earnings. Trying to get a feel for what to expect in these volatile situations. Also, I'm guessing the same would apply for Q2. This is all assuming this will "blow over" in that time frame. What are your thoughts?

Is this another dead cat bounce? How many of these are we going to experience?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:44 AM PDT

I understand that things are gonna get worse for a while, but is it possible the market is basically gaining more and more confidence? Things may look grim, but the fact is measuring, enough or not enough, are being done.

Even though we're late to the social distancing party, we are at least doing it.

Can someone explain to me why Slack (WORK) - a company that is literally geared to help employees stay easily connected virtually - is the only stock on earth not moving at the moment.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 06:24 PM PDT

Disney (DIS), a company whose theme parks are closed and movies are either postponed or going straight to streaming, is up 14%+ today. The entire market is up 12%+ today. Yet Slack is up less than 5% today. Why?

I was lucky enough to get in at $4 and made a good profit so far. I anticipate them going to $10 but was wanting to head others thoughts on JNUG as well. With the price of silver and gold going up is there really anything to worry about?

    Stimulus Package Effects

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 10:58 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

So this package should be happening any moment/day now. Obviously there will be a spike, how long could this realistically last? I don't see how the market can be green if we haven't even hit the virus peak. So wouldn't the market just go back down? Love to hear what you all think!
