Starting a cloud kitchen small business

    Starting a cloud kitchen

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 10:38 PM PST

I had this idea from long ago but I didn't have the resources. In 2020, I want to start working on it.
It will be a lot different than a usual restaurant as there won't be staff, the "restaurant experience" and infrastructure at all.
What are the few things I should know before starting a cloud kitchen (or food business in general)? Please share whatever you have to say about all this, even if you think this is a bad idea.

    Small Printing Business Owners

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 08:53 PM PST

Does anyone here own/work for a small printing business? Digital & Offset printing, we do some sign making but mainly press or digital printing. I'm needing to see if anyone else has had any luck on finding the right training resources or even forums/groups that discuss topics in this industry? I'm finding it hard to find resources on training and really what new equipments and such are being used. I'm struggling to find many shows or exhibitions that aren't more towards apparel or sign making. I'm coming to a point in my family's business that I'll have to make more of the decisions. While I'll know the financial aide and everyday running of it, I need to be able to know what advancements this industry is making. We are, on a large basis, running this business in the late 80's/early 90's set ups. We have tapped into the digital world but we aren't even a fraction of the way into the potential there... Sooooo, any suggestions would be great. Pod cast, books, websites or whatever resource thrown my way would be greatly appreciated.

    Long term strategy?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 12:47 AM PST

Strategy plan: figure out a path towards a market with many customers and successfully sell to them.

Business plan: create a Product plan, Marketing plan.

All in all this long term strategy is done to lay out what the product, marketing and direction is in order to improve profits, and improve customer base, and improve the product. The end goal over the course of decades is to try to make the product sell to the main stream as a big company, and increase the overall company's value.

How do you write out your long term strategy to plot how to steer the company? What does your 1-3 year short term plan look like, and 10 year long term plan looks like?

Advice and Ideas on advancing snack business.

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 09:09 PM PST

    Hi everyone,

I started a beef jerky company about 18 months ago, and was wondering if anyone had any tips or useful information. Our jerky is much better than the industry leaders, however it seems like people are attached to brands like jack links and obertos for some unknown reason. If anyone has any tips or recommendations on what i could do better or how to grow my company without having to spend millions it would be greatly appreciated.

The website is www.tongjerky.com and if anyone would like to have a look and give me feedback also if anyone would like to order they can use the code 'meat' for a discount.

Thanks in advance for your help

Don't leave money on the table. Here's how to capture your potential client's details and begin nurturing the lead with Elementor & ActiveCampaign

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 12:37 AM PST

    Hey everyone,

For those following along my tutorials how to get started with your local business website, here's an absolutely vital step in securing your lead contact details using Elementor.

There was a time where NinjaForms and GravityForms were absolutely necessary to make customizable forms (and in some situations they are still necessary) but for the vast majority of cases I've gotten away with using Elementor's built in Form features. Native integration with ActiveCampaign and other "After Submit" actions can be super powerful and I've used it to achieve some pretty cool automations.

To get started and learn how to build a customizable form and integrate it with ActiveCampaign head to the post here: https://hustlefortime.com/lead-capture-form-elementor-activecampaign/

If you have any question I'm happy to answer!

Can anyone offer any advice for 2 similar situations please?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 11:53 PM PST

Customer has sent goods to me requesting specific services. I've invoiced for this accordingly, however they have changed their mind and requested lesser works, but not confirming what they want. This was 2 weeks ago and I've sent a few emails asking what services they would like followed by another intemised email (in case they forgot all the quotes as they'd changed their mind/got confused). No emails have been replied to. How would you word an email to chase it up?

The second situation is another where customer has sent goods, agreed invoice but keeps making excuses for not paying. It's been 5 weeks now. My t&cs state storage charges will be added at 5% per week but as I never usually have to go down this route, I don't know how to word the email.

    Thanks in advance.

Need Advice: Small storefront owner looking to start my own product line

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 04:58 PM PST

I own a small storefront that sells hand-crafted goods. I want to start my own product line and have a good friend that is amazing at making the exact product I want to sell. We were thinking of partnering together where she would make the product and I would cover the cost of materials and sell it in my store. I'm not in a position to just pay her an hourly rate or a flat rate per unit so we're looking to split the sales of the product.

It would cost an average of $10 in materials and will sell for $40-$45. Best estimate is that it will take 15 minutes to assemble each product but she is also researching, buying and preparing each product as well. I'm covering the cost of materials and putting it in the store.

What would be a fair arrangement for splitting the sales? Is there a different type of arrangement that might make more sense? Any advice is appreciated!

Are most small business owners frugal?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 08:10 PM PST

Not A business owner but work with a lot of them. One major difference I notice about high income/wealth small business owners is, they don't like to show it off.

A lawyer for example, almost all of them who start making good money start spending it. My doctors friends all live in multi million dollar homes. It's very rare to see that with small business owners. It's almost like they're ashamed to spend money on themselves. My one client owns a manufacturing company doing $50m in revenue, he tells me that his Vice President just bought a $4 million dollar house. The owner lives in a $500k house and has no plans on moving.

    Does anyone else notice this?

Splitting profits between a collaborative designer and myself

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 02:01 PM PST

I have a small e-commerce shop through which I sell handmade ceramics. It's just me functioning under a DBA but I manage to cover half of my expenses with it so I'm happy enough now. I recently met a woman who was wearing these earrings she designed and made cheaply just for herself and I've been talking with her about collaborating. The setup as it stands is she designs the shape and color of the earrings, I'll be making and firing them, she'll be assembling and packaging them. We'll be selling them from my business. The step that's tripping me up is how to divide the profits. A 50/50 split doesn't seem fair as we are selling them from my business, I'm covering the costs of all materials and fees involved, am physically making the objects, and I have to manage the majority of the actual sales; however, I want to acknowledge her contributions appropriately. Does anyone have any input? Thanks in advance!

Can I remove my name from an LLC which has my name on it?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 07:49 PM PST

Context: I want to file an LLC in Florida, which will have my name on it (let's call it "Florida LLC".) In the future, I want to file an anonymous LLC in in Wyoming (which we'll Call "Wyoming LLC".)

After my company (Florida LLC) reaches a certain size, I want to make sure everything is anonymous, so I will transfer ownership of the Florida LLC from me to Wyoming LLC. In doing this, will my name still be publicly connected to Florida LLC? Can people dox the history of my company and identify me?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

the adventure of our business/start-up project

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 02:31 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

In this post, I want to tell you about the business idea we came up with one of my best friends and meanwhile ask you to give me advice on what I might be doing wrong or right, as well as ask for easy-cheap ways to expand the business.

    Content:

1- the adventure and the idea

    2- our vision and mission

    3- possible branding/marketing techniques

    4- raising capital

    5-

    the adventure and idea

Me and my friend, we are studying at one of Europe`s Best Business Universities with 90% scholarship as talented students with financial difficulties, have been best friends for almost 10 years and now we are currently building our first business project ever. We are excited and motivated as well as skilled for the idea we have yet, we lack experience. The business is a service project where we don`t sell a product that is manufactured but we merge the two most important features of a business. Seller and buyer. The project is now on the verge of transpassing the first phase and we are currently developing it. However, if you want to learn a bit more about the project and follow it, check the link.

    from this link:

    https://www.channelion.com/

    our vision and mission

    1. We are planning on commercializing the trend of creating online course content from social media influencers or people who had a large impact on their sector and proposing this feature to customers.
    2. The very goal that we want to reach is to stand up against online course dominators in the sector such as Udemy, and Coursera.
    3. Our battle is to combat the unfair pricing methods, tactics they use and provide reliable content with relatively perfect quality.
    4. The content that we are planning to offer doesn't necessarily cover random people teaching but rather people who know what they are doing, and to some extent expert in their field. So, the main goal is not to be trained by an anonymous unknown trait people but a well-known skilled person.
    5. We also would like to offer up to date news and off-topic or topic related blog articles from bloggers to engage with more communities.

    Possible branding/marketing techniques

We are actually not quite certain on which path we should choose to proceed but we would like to use SEO and Google ads that with already have access to.

Also, within the collaboration of influencers that have already-built communities, we thought it would be easier to expand and trade our interaction and reaching those communities through paid or non-paid partnerships.

We had the idea of buying an Instagram and Facebook account to not start from 0, however, this idea didn't sound as persuasive as it should have to us.

but again we are open to every idea that can come from you.

Q1. If you have already been a part of a marketing process for startups from scratch please contact us from dm or leave a comment to further help in our cause since we are always eager to learn more.

Q2. How do I execute the perfect marketing so that my expansion is faster than any other?

    raising capital

Well, currently we are working as 2 students in this project but as time passes we would like to be invested or invest in it or collaborate with the right people at the right time. But right now we feel like we are limited with the resources and networks to fulfill the clauses that I just explained.

Since we had little money to start, we are currently learning to code an app as well as to build a website even though we both study business & economics.

Q1. If you know any investment site or any contact that may be interested in our business, \from every angle* please dm me so that we can talk about it.*

Every help, comment or critics is very welcomed for our case. Besides that, we are fully aware that the friendly environment and collaboration that Reddit has could not only inspire and support our cause but also other entrepreneurs, investors or a simple person that just wants to start a company.

    Let`s grow together.

    Thank you!

    Employee problems: HELP

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 01:54 PM PST

I have an employee who seems to be a compulsive liar. I knew she had lied to me about some personal stuff on a few occasions but I didn't want to throw anyone on the team under the bus so I didn't say anything. Well, I've made our processes a lot more transparent recently and she's been upset about it...

I started watching her work and realized that she is legitimately lying about certain things. So I call a meeting and basically call her out and she says she can't believe I would think that she would lie and she's "not a liar". However, the time stamps and quality of work tell a different story.

In that same conversation I brought up how her work had been sloppy and gave several examples including some reports that were sent to clients. She literally said that just because it's in the project management system that it's not always the exact email she sends... so I asked her to forward me those specific reports right then and sure enough, they were just like they were in our project management system. So she lied to me again.

I'm not sure what to do or how to go about this any further. She won't admit she's lying but it's pretty clear that she's not telling the full truth. She ended the conversation in shock and saying that she didn't even know what to say so I told her we'd have a call tomorrow to discuss further but I honestly don't know what to say! I feel like I've painted the picture pretty clear and she still won't admit it.

What should I do? What are the next steps??
