Posted: 23 Mar 2020 11:53 PM PDT I have a business idea for a site/app where you can rent out, rent, buy, sell, & auction, day trading bots. How it works is a user would put up their trading bot to rent for a daily/ weekly/ monthly/ or even yearly rental price or sale price for a user to rent or buy. Before buying or renting the trading bot users can test it out in a simulation that pretty much simulates how the bot will perform. When creating a listing a user puts a description of the bot and what it does, the type of bot, average daily return rate (as a percentage), and the price the bot is being rented out or sold at. Pretty much think of it as something similar to amazon but for buying & selling trading bots. Please let me know what you think and if you would use this. Thank you for reading! [link] [comments] |

So I bet companies that were sternly anti telework are taking it up the ass now. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 06:49 AM PDT At least in my field, I know of several competitors that are anti telework. It also takes time to setup the infrastructure to allow secure remote access especially when dealing with sensitive data like PHI and dealing with HIPAA so it's not like you can just send everyone home overnight. They must be really feeling it now. Probably a wake up call for them to no longer listen to those dinosaurs in upper management that wouldn't allow it. Our place was lucky. We've been telework for the past 10 years or so. It was easy for us to move most of the remaining people out of the office at a moment's notice. [link] [comments] |

Your opinion would be really helpful. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 05:14 PM PDT Hi everyone. I'd really appreciate 15 seconds for your opinion. In return, I'll happily give gold to as many genuine responses as I can. I'm on the leadership team of an IT company in Australia. I've heard from a couple of business leaders recently who now, more than ever, say they need more/better tech help because:
Does this ring true to you? I think our company can spin-up an affordable, local, no-contract, 100% remote service desk capability. But it only makes sense for us to invest in this if the problem is big enough (economies of scale etc). That's why I'm reaching out here - to find out if the need is everywhere (or not, as the case may be). Please respond "Yes" or "No" in the comments with your country and the number of staff you have. Any other details or your experiences would be great too. Thanks so much for your help. 'Owl. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Mar 2020 09:37 AM PDT So I'm curious if there are any of you who are trying to use this coronavirus situation as a way to make money. NOT by taking advantage of people but simply by being prepared to take advantage of an opportunity. If so, what are you doing? Real estate? Stock? Something different? Just curious what everyone's up to. [link] [comments] |

Is my work considered essential? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:31 PM PDT I install specialized doors on businesses. According to the an "upper" they said we are lumped in with construction and considered essential. I don't see how my work is essential though. I don't install on other truly essential businesses like hospitals, food places, grocery stores, etc. [link] [comments] |
Is school the only way to learn all aspects of business? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:20 PM PDT Background: I'm in my early 20s, I have one failed startup in my portfolio, and one startup that I'm unsuccessfully trying to raise funds for. I have bootstrapped both my startups. Story: I'm writing this after failing to raise funds for my startup. I'm not the type of person to give up, but after this fundraising attempt, I'm thinking of putting my startup on the backburner for a while. I've put over a thousand hours into carefully planning the venture and designing the product, I've read 2 pretty good guide books on startups and business, but even then, there's things I'm missing. For example: I raised funds successfully in my first venture (after having pre-existing sales), talked to a few dozen investors, things went well, despite not having a business plan, just a good understanding of what I was doing, where I wanted to be, and how I was going to get there. Literally all my chats were person-to-person, not a bunch of business jargon. I knew this wasn't a good approach and I knew I could do better, so I started planning my approach differently in this venture and learned what I could from online resources and books. After 6 months of planning, I reached out to some potential investors, and I was dumbfounded when every single one asked for a pitch deck... Not only did I have not have a pitch deck, I'd never even heard of that in my life, and it wasn't mentioned in any of my books (which are all 2017+) or online resources. I felt blindsided. I shared my startup business plan, which was received poorly by the investors I shared it with, despite basing it off of common templates I've seen everywhere that mention startup business plans. Not only that, but most of the investors have criticized many aspects of my approach, which is something I planned carefully and off of many guides and used past experience to plan. I feel like I've wasted 6 months. People are selling this product well in other countries, and I live in a massive market, I know it will do very well here. And I know that not every investor is going to 'understand' my venture, but the bombardment of professional criticism when I've read so much on the subject regarding my approach... it doesn't feel good, it makes me feel like I don't know what I'm doing. And I don't claim to know much. I know how to sell products very well, I know this market very well, and I have 2 years ecommerce experience, but I know there's a LOT I still don't know. I feel like my resources have failed me. I read everything, front to back 10 times over, I've watched hundreds of hours worth of discussions on the subject. I feel like my resources have failed me. I've never before in my life felt unmotivated, but I'm at that point now. I don't want to commit a whole bunch of time to another book or online resource that isn't going to give me the whole picture. I won't quit, I want to learn what I need to know. Question: Is school the only way to learn the WHOLE shebang? [link] [comments] |
If people could browse products in local inventory would they use more local businesses? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 08:20 AM PDT |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 12:18 PM PDT Did you know that your local apple store has a free consulting team? I use them and they've helped me so much right now with the world the way it is and my business slowing down. I just want those who are having a hard time right now to know that there is a resource that may be supportive. [link] [comments] |
