Official r/StockMarket Discord Live Chat, link on the right --> Posted: 11 Aug 2019 07:06 AM PDT Hello r/StockMarket! This is another re-post to the thread that I had up a few months back. Thought it was time for a new one. If you are looking to hang out with a group of active traders & investors discussing the stock market, feel free to drop in on our official Discord server. It's completely free, and signing up to join is incredibly easy. To get to our Discord server, click on the invite link which I have linked for you all down below here-
Registering your user handle should take no more than a couple of minutes. You'll just need a valid e-mail address to verify your Discord account and that is really pretty much it, you'll be connected and ready to chat with all the rest of us! You can either run Discord through your web browser, or you can download the Discord application to have it running in the background of your PC. There are also mobile apps that you can use, for example here's the one for the iOS device. Our Discord server comes complete with stock bots as well. For those of you who are be completely new to Discord and are wondering... "bots!?" Yes, we have bots that can automatically posts charts and other useful market information in the chat on executing commands. Almost all of the bots that you'll see on our server have been scripted from scratch from yours truly, and have them hosted right from my local server at home. Anyway, unlike our last thread I did up, I won't post the full list of bot commands to this thread as it is quite extensive. I've posted the full list of commands right into our Discord server under the channel named #bot_commands which you can find on the left sidebar of the chat at the top underneath the WELCOME channel group. You can also have the bot DM (direct message) you the full list by typing !help into any of the channels as well. Again, if you are looking for our official invite link to our server here it is:
The link can also be found on the sidebar right here on r/StockMarket. I hope all of you who participate in the everyday discussions on this subreddit, will be able to join us in our live chat as well. There are lots of great discussions going on in there daily! Finally, don't forget to pay a visit to the #rules_guidelines channel. Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now. Hope to see you guys on the chat very soon! [link] [comments]

I created a simple DCF model for beginners who just learning about stocks and valuation Posted: 01 Jan 2020 01:31 PM PST I created a simple DCF model for beginners who just learning about stocks and valuation. This is by means comprehensive so intermediate folks should only watch if they are bored. I hope this video helps people and introduce others to beginning finance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMkI7O3eMgA&feature=youtu.be Free Financial Model https://www.financialbread.com/free-valuation-excel-price-a-company-in-less-than-5-mins-version-1/ Investment Bank Steps https://www.financialbread.com/investment-holding/ Intro to Finance https://books.mec.biz/tmp/books/E58R5U5EUTFE1SF8SBF3ZSBVUI16N6.pdf [link] [comments]
Apple’s stock could be worth $100 more in 2020, tech analyst Gene Munster predicts Posted: 01 Jan 2020 06:32 PM PST If you missed Apple's 2019 record rally, there may still be time to make big profits. Tech analyst Gene Munster expects the iPhone maker's shares to rip higher in 2020, too. [link] [comments]
Questions to Biotech/Pharma investors Posted: 01 Jan 2020 02:17 PM PST When it comes to the FDA approval process of these drugs, there are multiple phases along with PDUFA , NDA, BLA etc. I know what they all mean now, but I don't really know the effect each have on a stocks value. I would imagine phase 1 & 2 are higher risk/reward compared to PDUFAs? Which phase do most people bet on, and which one has the most impact? I also noticed that these dates set by the FDA can happen sooner than what's stated. Is there a way to stay on top of whats going on aside from checking the companies site all the time? I've only been doing biotech for a little over a month and doing extremely well (+300%, mostly because IPCIF), I just don't want to make any dumb mistakes. I do a lot of research and studying everyday, but I'd like to know how you guys go about investing in this sector, any tips would be appreciated. I have high hopes for NKTR and plan to dip into MRK next. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Jan 2020 06:08 AM PST Happy New Year, fellow investors They say this every year but 2020 is probably going to be a super tumultuous year for investors. One, election year, and two God knows if the electorate puts Trump back in or boots him out - I don't care either way. However, a China-US trade deal seems imminent. Given these geo-pol events, I am personally looking to 2020 and beyond to steady ship in my personal investing. For me 2017 to 2019 have been reckless with bets on high volatility such as Pharma, biotech and crypto (not currencies but blockchain) So I'm looking to safe bets. This last month, with this theme in mind, I took positions in $OXY, $DIS, $ING and $SQ Occidental $OXYpeople hate this stock for doing a bad deal to acquire andarko. That's okay because Buffet and Icahn own this a lot and also energy is pointing to a rally in 2020 and stock is like 30% down which is normal for an acquisition Disney $DISwith launch of Disney+ and a fan of Disney myself I can't see why this won't go north of 200. My (humble) opinion is they will eventually kill out Netflix and amazon prime. My family personally burns so much money in Disney vacations ING Groep $INGDutch heavyweight. Nothing too controversial and nothing bad in the balance sheet. I wanted to park money here and collect dividends Square Inc $SQeverything I hear about square is only positive. They are likely to be a fintech buyout target. I haven't researched this much. This is an impulse buy I'd like to hear others picks for 2020. [link] [comments]

Anybody know anything about old stock certificates? Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:08 PM PST I found a bunch of old stock certificates from around 1940 in my great great uncles stuff from a company called Gold Mines Consolidated, Inc. I can't find any information on the company so I assume they're out of business but the certificates are for a couple thousand shares of it. Are these worth anything? I have no idea how stock certificates work. [link] [comments]
These 2 stocks dominated S&P 500 returns in 2019 — and the decade Posted: 31 Dec 2019 11:53 PM PST The two stocks that contributed the most to 2019's total stock-market returns also hold that position for the entire decade. While it's fun to look at how the overall composition of the top 10 contributors has changed — with a noticeable shift from the energy sector to finance, for example — it's perhaps more interesting to note the enduring heft of Apple Inc. AAPL, +0.73% and Microsoft Corp. MSFT, +0.07% for investors, as the chart shows. [link] [comments]
