How do I tactfully stop a nearby competitor, our aunt, from "visiting" our store and copying us? Posted: 08 Jan 2020 10:38 AM PST My parents run a fashion store that sells clothes imported from Japan. Li, my copycat aunt, opened a similar store in a different mall 400 meters (0.4 mile) away! She didn't tell my parents until her grand opening as a "surprise"! Li's riling my parents, but they don't want offend or end relationship with her. How can they stop her competitive intelligence? Li and her 16 y.o. daughter, Eva, pretend to "pass by" my parents' store twice a week "on their way to the restaurant or supermarket". But her motive is to copy whatever my parents do, like dressing her window-display mannequins the same way, and importing the same clothes from Japan. My parents see Eva using the phone — they know she's taking pictures and videos of their mannequins and clothes. [link] [comments] |

Food and Beverage companies payment terms? Posted: 08 Jan 2020 05:48 PM PST A NYT article in 2015 referenced the large global players in the F&B space, being led by Anheuser Busch, were moving all their suppliers to 120 day payment terms. Kraft Heinz and Mondelez adopted this model and I'm looking to see if that's still the norm for the industry? I have a product I'm looking to sell into this area so keen to understand if anyone has any insight? Thank you [link] [comments] |
Using Google Images on my Small Business Website? Posted: 08 Jan 2020 05:14 PM PST I am creating a website for my small, family-run business. I want to include some pictures on the website, and was using Google images. Then I realized it says 'images may be subject to copyright". Does this mean I am not allowed to use these pictures on my website? They are just pictures of simple food. Is there any way around this, given the subject material? And pictures are ambiguous, unlike text; how would anyone know if they were created by me or taken from google images? Thanks, help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 Jan 2020 03:47 PM PST I'm a new manager (less than 1 year) at a Fortune 500 company. I have an employee who is really a great guy with great potential, but simply will not do his job properly. He cuts corners, leaves work early before his work is really done, and generally does sloppy work. Over the past few months, I have gone out of my way to help him do his work properly, clean up after him, and work with him to show him the best practices and the fundamentals of his job (he's been in his role for 7 years). I started the process of giving him a formal corrective measure (he's unaware I'm prepping this) because his work is just not improving despite me coaching him and training him on why it's important to do things the right way. Today, I found out from a coworker, that this employee took a leave of absence before I started working here due to being in a mental hospital for a long time due to severe depression and what I presume to be a suicide attempt. Naturally, this makes me hesitant to driver this corrective measure, because I understand that he may be unmotivated at work due to his own mental health issues. That being said, if he can't perform the basic fundamentals of this job, it's not fair to our clients who pay us for this job. I need to tread carefully here, and I'm relatively new to this role, and obviously don't fully understand his personal life. What advice can you give to someone who needs to break this hard news. This corrective measure puts him on track to being fired within the coming months if he does not improve. Thank you [link] [comments] |
International Business or Finance & Control Posted: 08 Jan 2020 11:26 AM PST So I have been looking for a bachelor degree for ages and I have come to these 2 courses which have interested me the most. I can't seem to find enough information to judge which one is a better option to take. The bachelor in International business program has a option of specialisation in the 2nd year in finance, supply chain management and marketing. Does anyone know how different will my job opportunities be if I take IB with finance specialisation over bachelor in finance and control? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Do I NEED to pay to file it? Or can I just use a name that I created, that is NOT already taken? Thanks guys! [link] [comments] |
As Family Ages do you Want to pass of Culture/Traditions? Posted: 08 Jan 2020 03:03 PM PST I can remember being a young teenager and my relatives asking me to help with the family traditions making various foods and alike. I always snubbed this family time to boring or not interested and rather spend time with friends or playing video games. Fast forward a decade later, I now realize the importance of both spending time with family and how I wish I can go back and learn my family's culture/traditions which can now be passed on to my kids. Time is a funny thing, it's wasn't valued early on, at least in my case, but it has a way of coming back with a vengeance. I think it's important to record perhaps even share our family's traditions with family or even others who are interested. Since it has become apparent age isn't slowing down anytime soon, I thought I could look into solving this problem for selfish reasons, but I also think it could benefit others in the community as well. Since I am planning to solve this personal issue, I drafted a quick survey, which I think may help me and/others who are interested. If you'd like to fill out the survey please do so here: https://forms.gle/vHcQGPXapzswVt6Z7 Thanks so much for your time. [link] [comments] |
