Losing money due to indeed's terms and conditions Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:16 AM PST So I'm actually not the business owner however he's asked me to find this out for him because he's not great with technology. So we offer apprenticeships to people 16-18 on indeed as as are government funded and this is the only age range they will accept. This issue is that we are not allowed to mention anything related to age on indeed adverts as to not discriminate (even though we literally cannot offer jobs to over 18s). We get charged every time someone clicks on these ads and most of our traffic and phone calls are coming from over 18s so it loses us a lot of money and time. Is there any way around this at all or is it just something we will have to deal with. Thanks a lot. [link] [comments] |
What is the Stock Market? How does it work? Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:03 AM PST What is the Stock Market? A stock market is where the exchange of securities take place these securities can be of many types such as stock, bonds, commodities etc. these all will be explained one by one as we go through the journey of discovering the stock market. Mostly, this market is used by corporations to raise their equity and debt from means other than banks. However, that does not mean that it is only restricted to the corporate world. In our discussions, we will see how even the government utilizes this market in favor of the economy. So without further due, let's discuss the necessity of the stock market. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2020 05:28 PM PST I want to start by saying I have no clue what subreddit to post this in. Currently I work at Uhaul moving and storage for the time being. Im trying to get on disability but the process is long. Im going to school at my local community college for computer technology. At my job because of my seizures I only work about 10 hours a week but even this is difficult for me as I cannot drive and find it hard to preform my job title. I make about 200$ every 2 weeks and I was looking for some advice as to something I could do from home that I could manage on my own that would make just about the same as I have school to pay for. Uhaul isnt ideal for my condition but it is the closest place to my place of living that I can get to. I would love some feedback as to what I may be able to try to make my own money working from home. [link] [comments] |

ADVICE NEEDED! High schooler running non profit org Posted: 06 Jan 2020 10:53 PM PST So im in the 11th grade, stressing about uni applications. I wanted to start some kind of a non profit organisation that would host business conferences for high school students, there's been many similar youth led initiatives in medicine/law. So I have a team of 5 execs and 2 founders (me and my friend) we are working on the conference, lets call it organisation A. Very small, no sponsors, or venues. 68 followers on Instagram, we don't even have a final name yet. Very much a work in progress. The problem, 3 of the execs on our team (myself and 2 others) are part of a different youth organisation focussed on business. It's been around for a few years and has spread nation wide. Lets call it organisation X. The three of us are not executives organisation X, our role will involve marketing. Organisation X found out about org A and is claiming that this is a conflict of interest (something about intellectual property). They have proposed that we run the conferences UNDER org X. They would provide us with sponsors and resources but we would need to use their name, we would be like a side project. We would get credit for founding and coming up with the idea. our other options include: the 3 execs quit at organisation X OR we completely rebrand org A and choose to focus on something that is not business. Should we do it? [link] [comments] |
ow easy is to start a company in offshore drilling/oil&gas operations? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 10:38 PM PST I was kind of gravitating towards starting a company in offshore drilling/oil and gas basically trying to procure contracts with large organizations such as Chevron or Shell. Basically the contract would say, we are responsible for mounting rigs and necessary installations offshore with our fleet and engineering team, cheaper than existing competition. There are a lot of untouched oil&gas fields that haven't really been explored or contracted to any company to explore and organize drilling operations or lay a pipeline. I don't have any background in this, but I do have a clear vision. How likely am I to secure a loan from the bank to purchase a small fleet of maybe 1 pipe-layer, a couple of heavy duty towing vessels and one heavy duty offshore crane, to hire a team of mariners and engineers to run those operations? I heard that the money such companies make like signing contracts with I don't know Saudi government or some other government are astronomical and really like account to billions in profit. If you think about it, are there any venture investors maybe who would support such business? Is bank loan ever possible if I pitch good? What is the best course of action? [link] [comments] |
What do I do when competition pops up? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:52 PM PST I currently run a business that was first of its kind in my province. Recently, I found out that another company is trying to break into our market and is doing surprisingly well. What do I do when competition pops up? I am afraid that the competition might run us out of the market if I don't take action. Do I continue focusing on my own path or do I focus on beating the competition? [link] [comments] |

Senior Buyouts/Early Retirement Posted: 06 Jan 2020 04:49 PM PST My company is offering buyouts to employees ages 55 and older. My industry relies HEAVILY on the experience of the senior middle management. This will strain our day to day operations hard. It will open a tremendous amount of vertical movement. I have concerns about what the goal of the operation is of this, as I would guess that 60% of our operations are eligible. Aside from cost cutting, why would a company do this? [link] [comments] |
Looking for the best Door-to-door sales app. Posted: 06 Jan 2020 04:38 PM PST Hi my fellow entrepreneurs, I'm looking to invest in a high-quality door-to-door sales application to help my sales team. I'd like it to, at least, keep track of where we've been, responses, and public info about the property owners. Can anyone here with experience give me some recommendations? Thanks! ADT Acquires Defenders..What To Expect In A Merger Posted: 06 Jan 2020 04:07 PM PST Hey all! So I currently work for Defenders. Some of you may know that ADT just bought our company for a rather large sum of money. But that's beside the point What I want to know is what are some things Defenders employees should expect to happen in this merger? Some folks are really freaking out and now I'm worried for my job as well TL;DR: What should employees expect when a small partner company merges with it's larger partner company? [link] [comments] |

Is AWS marketed to the general public? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 02:31 PM PST I went to the US recently and there were some advertisements on TV about AWS (not amazon the store nor amazon prime just Amazon Web Services). And an event in an stadium was also sponsored by AWS (Again, Amazon Web Services, not Amazon store, kindle, echo, et, just the Cloud Platform). I'm sure there were some Software Engineers in that stadium besides me but why is the stadium sponsored by the AWS division and not just Amazon (or prime) which may have way more clients than AWS? Does the general public (non developers) have any real use for AWS? [link] [comments] |
