Auto insurance options after my first rear-end accident Posted: 25 Jan 2020 11:42 PM PST Unfortunately, I couldn't stop in time after 2 cars in front of me suddenly stopped on the highway. Below are the quotes from Insurance companies now :
I was paying $140/month (GEICO) for the same car earlier. How do I get on the road with these high Insurance premiums? Please suggest some other options? I feel like not driving now. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2020 07:39 AM PST The c-section is scheduled for 2:00pm on Monday and her insurance company told her they need to interview her within 24 hours of the surgery completion. It's our first child and we've never been through this before, but this seems odd. I expect my wife to be in extreme pain and hopped up on pain meds at the time. Why do they need to interview her? And why is it needed so immediately after the surgery? It seems fishy to me. Can anyone shed some light on what this is about? Or possibly give us some tips what to say, what not to say? Does insurance charge you even though it says the service is 100% covered? Posted: 25 Jan 2020 04:18 PM PST So, my parents have told to me that I need to stop my therapy because it's been racking up over $200 (very low considering I've been to at least 10 sessions that are 100 each without insurance). Online each claim that has already been processed says that my responsibility is zero. Plan savings cover the entirety of it. Is there any possible fee that would actually be charging my parents? Posted: 25 Jan 2020 07:46 PM PST The question came up in another subreddit. What is the origin of the Nuclear Exclusion, what was the underwriting rationale for drafting it, what risk is it addressing today? I have seen it in commercial policies in the early 70's. Did it exclude losses from Three Mile Island? [link] [comments] |
Not sure how insurance works exactly , can Safeway insurance pay a lot for my teeth Posted: 25 Jan 2020 05:36 PM PST I'm 16 years old and my teeth are horrible , I need braces and my mom has insurance because she's been working at Safeway for 6 years now . I know they provide dental insurance but I was wondering how much would they cover for braces ? [link] [comments] |
How does Cat Adjusting Deployment work? Posted: 25 Jan 2020 08:48 PM PST Is there anyone working as a catastrophe adjuster who can tell me how the deployment process works in detail? I would like to know if they offer flights to the location; and once you arrive there, do they offer company vehicles or are you expected to rent your own? Are there any other services that enable you to become familiar with the region and do they pay for your expenses? I am thinking about applying for a cat adjusting position and would like to become familiar with this line of work. [link] [comments] |
Question about accepting a car accident settlement Posted: 25 Jan 2020 07:36 PM PST I was in a car accident in Nov 2019 in Missouri. My arm was broken as a result. The driver at fault was uninsured. Shortly after the accident, I spoke with someone from my car insurance who told me that my uninsured policy would cover medical bills. So far, it looks like my health insurance policy has covered everything and I am responsible for my emergency department visit copay and an arm brace. I have another orthopedic visit in a few weeks (possibly my last one if my issues are resolved by then). Recently, my insurance has reached out again for an update. I think they may be ready to offer a settlement. I'm just paranoid because I assumed that my health insurance would not pay my bills because my injuries were the result of a car accident. I'm afraid if I accept a settlement now, my health insurance may later want payment from me or my auto insurance. Is there a possibility of this happening? I just don't want to finalize anything too soon in fear that the other shoe may drop. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2020 01:35 PM PST I'm 25 from ontario Canada, i'm planning on buying a new car (not new 2012). I've been driving for daily for 6-7 years, and have been a full g driver for about 4 years. I've never been listed or had my own insurance even though I've driven daily. 0 accidents, 0 speeding tickets, and 0 parking tickets. I've been looking up quotes for insurance and most of the quotes are $350-$450/monthly, that's ridiculously high... what is my best option to get something cheaper...? Is there anyway to prove i've been driving for as long as I have? [link] [comments] |

Enrolled without consent. Am I screwed? Posted: 25 Jan 2020 03:12 PM PST Long story short, I cancelled my health insurance (Aetna) last December (2018) when I took leave of absence to join the military. I was on that status until my first day back on December 30th 2019. At that point I had been using, and signed up to continue using TriCare, eliminating my need for insurance through my employer. First bi-weekly check came through on Jan. 10th 2020 and covered my first week back. It did not have medical/dental deducted. Got my second one yesterday and somehow I've been enrolled and billed. I did receive insurance cards too. I can't get ahold of Aetna til Monday, so I've come here for some peace of mind, hopefully. What I'm wondering is why did this happen with no notice, and should I be able to easily explain and cancel this? Its past open enrollment and my "life event" happened over 31 days ago. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Geico is lying about my policy! Posted: 25 Jan 2020 06:51 PM PST I changed my insurance back in Nov. 2019 because I started driving Uber. I was with Geico for the past 7 years. Well anyways, I had my son on my policy for the last 3 years, since he turned 16. When I switched over to Geico commercial I said I want all people that are currently on my policy to be on my new policy as well. I am totally, totally 110% positive I said that to the rep! Well I get a letter in the mail after my son reported he was in an accident, that Geico did not have him listed an insured driver under the new policy. Which is a total lie! Can I get the recording of the conversation I had with the rep when I switched over to commercial?.. I am pissed right now!! [link] [comments] |
Cancelling a home insurance claim Posted: 25 Jan 2020 06:24 PM PST Will cancelling a home insurance claim prior to getting a settlement letter still possibly raise rates for the future if I get quotes from a different company? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2020 05:55 PM PST Hey so random question. Hypothetically say i had car insurance and then it was cancelled due to non payment because of financial issues. Then I hit a deer which broke my headlight assembly and front bumper and fender damage which happened when I had no car insurance. When I get car insurance again, if I waited like two months or so then filed a claim that I just then hit the deer even though it happened prior to me having car insurance with them, do you think the car insurance company would question it? Or be able to figure out the incident happened prior to me being with them? [link] [comments] |
High risk “new driver” (think I’m getting boned) Posted: 25 Jan 2020 11:51 AM PST I've been driving since 16 but got my license when I turned 18, I'm now 21 and my three year anniversary of getting my license is this March. anyway I bought a 1999 Ford Explorer the end of last summer and I'm paying $230 a month to a local insurance firm. I did a lot of research and got different quotes and this seems like the best one, the only thing I have on my record is a speed warning ticket which didn't have a fine. I've heard that after the three year mark the prices will drop because I'm no longer considered a new driver. I've even gotten a quote on a 2004 minivan just to see and that was still $250. I just feel like I'm out of options, I'm living on my own and have good credit especially for my age I just really need to save some money and insurance is my second biggest bill next to rent. Any sort of help or information would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2020 01:15 PM PST Background: I have an employer sponsored health plan, and HMO through Blue Cross. My 3 year old was diagnosed with leukemia in July. We were air transported from the ER to a children's hospital 18 miles away, a mere 8 minute ride. The bill was almost $51k. Within a week of the flight I began receiving letters from them, first asking me to help the bill my insurance and to sign an authorization I believe for them to access her medical records. I was in shock and did nothing with the letter. A short while later I was informed by my medical group (the HMO group) that it was their responsibility and they would pay the claim, not Blue Cross. They paid about 6k of the bill and I'm assuming contractually adjusted the rest of course. Fast forward to this week I am still getting letters and calls from the flight company and I was just informed by someone from the flight service on the phone that if I don't help them appeal my insurance that the remaining balance will be mine. I asked if they were contracted with my insurance and they said yes, they were contracted with Blue Cross but not my medical group that administrates my HMO. I am so confused- is there a chance that I will be responsible for this balance if they are contracted with Blue Cross? I feel very threatened and caught in the middle of a battle that seems to be between the payor and the provider of service all the whole my daughter is undergoing intense chemo STILL 7 months later. Can I repair my car before I get a copy of the police report? Posted: 25 Jan 2020 04:40 PM PST I had a car accident and want to repair my car. I did not get a copy of the police report yet, but I don't want to waste my time. Is it ok to repair my car before I get a copy of the police report, or should I wait for it? Should I hire a lawyer or attorney? [link] [comments] |
Signing for general liability plan and unsure what it’s requesting Posted: 25 Jan 2020 01:26 PM PST Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am signing a general liability plan and got the paperwork. It has the agreement and asked for subscribers signature at the bottom, and then has a line for "TITLE". What is that asking for? It is a sole proprietor company, just me the owner. Personal Experience (X2) - Car insurance attempts a band-aid fix, and hopes it will fly Posted: 25 Jan 2020 04:28 PM PST I got into 2 accidents in about 10 yrs w/Progressive as my insurer. First one was a 17yr old driver making a left on red. Almost avoided it, but not quite. My lifted pickup truck, returned to me after repair, felt so profoundly WRONG, I'd have to have been the most clueless owner not to feel - immediately - the damage to my front end was not fixed. The bodywork looked fine, but the meat and potatoes of it ... no way. I had to drop it off a second time at the same shop (this was before Progressive had their mega-mall drive-in places) and the 2nd time, they actually did fix it. I am a truck enthusiast. The 1st time around I gave both Progressive and the shop feedback about exactly how the truck was lifted (professional job) and what to watch out for. When my pickup came back to me after the 2nd go-round, it ended up they had replaced exactly some of the parts I talked about. F-fwd almost 10 yrs later - I lost traction an empty highway that had just begun to freeze. (I was not in 4WD) and right before I was done sliding, my front end hit a concrete barrier at prolly 5mph. Because the pickup had both a body and a suspension lift, I immediately suspected the reason my steering was so stiff after the accident was because the elongated body bolts were skewed. I TOLD Progressive this, even put it in writing. They returned the truck to me... cosmetically OK. But the EXACT SAME problem remained w/the steering. It was so bad the steering would not self correct after turning. It stayed in whatever direction I was turning and had to be forced back. HOW CAN THEY GIVE IT BACK TO ME LIKE THAT??? Had to bring it in a 2nd time. This time, I got calls from the shop asking me who manufactured the lift kit, etc., and they replaced the body mounting bolts, which were indeed bent, and it was perfect. This is all I'm saying... they were NOT AT ALL interested in repairing the vehice. They wanted to get it in and get it out ASAP while doing less than the absolute minimum to restore it. Both times, the first "repair" was just for show. I'm w/a different company now, but I hope I never need to use them. [link] [comments] |
Not sure if I want to contact my insurance about an accident Posted: 25 Jan 2020 08:01 AM PST I hydroplaned into a tree earlier today. Single car accident, there was no visible damage to the tree, and I'm fine. but the rear driver side door of my 2008 Nissan Frontier crew cab is all messed up. The truck is 12 years old, probably worth about $7k, still drives perfectly. I don't want the truck to be totaled, I've had this since It was brand new, meticulously maintained, and $7k just won't buy me anything that this truck provides. Should I contact my insurance? I'm willing to pay $5k out of pocket if that makes any difference. [link] [comments] |
