For people that run a pc gaming lounge/lan center, how busy are you on average? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 09:07 PM PST How many set ups would you say are used per hour on average? How long did it take to reach that number and what was that number like when you started out? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 05:43 PM PST I've been working as an independent contractor for years but I started an LLC in October of 2019. I am the single owner of the LLC. I have always done my own taxes but have now entered a new territory with this LLC. I know as a single owner of my LLC I will be taxed similarly to being a sole-proprietor (Schedule C and Schedule SE forms etc.) I was paid as a 1099 contractor in February - do I need to do anything to link this payment to my LLC? If I do nothing, are my taxes going to be more complicated? Also, do I need to pay myself from my LLC business account before the end of 2019 or is it better for the money to be in the business account? Thank you for any advice. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 09:13 AM PST My product ranges in price from $40-$300 and is marketable in several different industries. It's needed and valuable but I'm not making any money at all because I simply don't have time to sell it. My Business partner is in the same boat as I am and, together, we rarely have time to devote to actually selling our product. We posted an ad for someone to sell for us but didn't get many responses. I need advice on the best place to post a gig like this (obviously it's not a big enough job for regular job sites) and what's a good way to pay the person. Since it's sales we were thinking a commission but we're not sure of the percentage that would attract someone since our price point is so low. Also not sure on any base pay and how to structure that? Since it's all done via email and phone this is a remote job, and we're not too picky about hours as long as someone just does the work. If anyone has any advice we'd be very grateful! [link] [comments] |
Annual turnover for a small business question. Posted: 30 Dec 2019 01:33 AM PST When a small business has 60k come in from sales and services in a year. But spends 50k in the same year on expenses, wages, dividends. Is the annual turnover 110k? Or is it 50k (with 10k being profit) for that year? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Dec 2019 12:21 AM PST Wondering since I just submitted online for an LLC creation and annual registration is due soon. Since it is two more days before next year, I was wondering if I would need to pay for this year still or if it would not count if the business was not viewed as officially formed until the date approved by my state. How do you all handle bank accounts Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:19 PM PST My buissnes is growing enough to where I should probably stop using my personal checking account to pay for buissnes stuff and collect all the money into. What are my next steps? How do you guys run your buissnes accounts? [link] [comments] |
Questions about retail consignment for a small jewelry business. Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:43 PM PST I help manage a small ($1000 a month) jewelry business that just got going last summer. So far most of the sales have come from Etsy and festivals/markets, but a few consignment opportunities have come up. They offered 50/50 and 40/60 with no payment up front or insurance. Any general rules of thumb on small price retail like jewelry? Any ideas on how to do consignment right, or other avenues to invest in? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Ways to raise capital to start producing Posted: 29 Dec 2019 09:51 PM PST Hello entrepreneurs, I am currently looking for ways to raise capital to start producing a product, I know some of them like doing kickstarter preorders or raising debt, etc. I wanted to know if anyone here has managed to raise capital in any way and how he did it? I would also like to know for those who have done it if you have some tips or tricks. Thank you [link] [comments] |
I own a successful service business. But I want to scale--is there anything I am missing? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:51 PM PST Hey, /r/smallbusiness! I own a successful small business where I help people get Italian dual citizenship. It's a very niche industry where not many companies compete. We do everything from genealogical research to determine eligibility, to translating records into Italian and compiling full applications, etc. Currently, my business earns anywhere from $7,000-$40,000 a month with our profit margins being about 80%. Most of what we do is document procurement as well as spending time with clients to determine eligibility. Anyway, there are companies in my industry like this one that have 10-20 employees, multiple offices, and are no doubt clearing millions a year. I want to become one of them (don't we all? lol). How do I do this? Do I just ramp up my SEO efforts? I'm currently contacting podcast hosts and getting myself booked, guest posting, and trying new ways to boost our profile. I was also thinking about expanding into offering pan-European citizenship services. Countries like Ireland, Germany, Hungary, etc. offer similar citizenship programs. We could expand to become the European dual citizenship resource. When it comes to European citizenship, it could then be divided into two sectors: citizenship by investment (more money from each client, but fewer clients) and by heritage (less money per client, but more clients). Here are some ideas I've toyed with:

I Need some help from Entrepreneurs (im not trying to sell i genuinely need help) Posted: 30 Dec 2019 01:49 AM PST Hey guys, how's your day going? note: im not a marketer and know nothing about it, im just genuinely seeking good help from like minded people like you! im gonna be so direct in this, so during the past 3 years i've been working on boosting my productivity to the maximum, by working on my discipline, eliminating procrastination, and all this stuff. And now, i wake up excited to work, and i could work for less time and be more productive than i used to be when i worked for 10 hours straight. Recently, I decided I want to share what I've learned and help people that are struggling with productivity – just like I did. I gave a bunch of people advice on how to be more productive and they've loved it, they are now making more money, and having more time to focus on other things such as family, hobbies, or social life! Honestly, seeing people grow brings me some sort of fulfillment that nothing else does, which is why I decided to be a productivity coach. I recently started building my business, and currently I'm trying to figure out how exactly I can help people like me! That's the reason I'm posting in this group. Would you be interested to have a quick chat/interview with me over the phone? It would take around 15-20 min. In exchange for your time, I can offer you my knowledge and applicable advice! !!!Anyone interested, please contact me!!! Looking forward to chatting with you! Your time won't be taken for granted! Cheers! :) [link] [comments] |
Have you ever worked for somebody else? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 09:21 PM PST I'm a small business owner, the place was founded by my father, who keeps coming as a consultant. I've got no other job experience outside this, and sometimes I wonder if I took the right path. My doubts are based mainly in the fact that if things don't go as expected, or if for some reason I decide to close or sell my business, I'm not sure how the job market would perceive me. I'm no recruiter, but maybe a person whose only work experience is his father's company may not be the first choice. I've just assumed that if something like this happens, my "business mind" and experience will help me to find out my way through new ideas, projects and business. So because of this I assume that I will somehow never be an employee and that my future will be all about owning (or partnering) something, let's hope that with certain success. So, I'll always wonder if maybe having worked for somebody else prior to getting into the company would have given me something extra, some useful tools and another point of view, that I may be missing as an employer. And of course, my CV would look more attractive. Has anybody in a similar situation thought about this? Those with previous job experiences, do you think that it was worth? Do you feel more confident towards the uncertain future many of us, small business owners, have to face? And I mean uncertain because, unless your business is hard as a rock, uncertainty is always there, in the short or in the long term. Some things are out of your hands, like a McDonald's opening on the other side of the street if you own a burger restaurant (not my business, just an example). Thank you. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 08:38 PM PST I set aside money for my expected payments. I've made 3/4, with the 4th one being due by 1/15/2020 for the last of the 4 payments for 2019. How do I not have that set aside money pass through as income in 2019 as it will carry over in my bank account in 2020 until it's deducted for that 4th payment? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 08:18 PM PST I've got two amazing ideas that will benefit my community, but I don't know how to go about receiving funding to get my ideas off the ground. I've done just about all the leg work I can do without capital - how did you raise the funds to start your own business? [link] [comments] |
Amazon - has anyone else had incorrect dates on Business Analytics vs actual card charge? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 08:00 PM PST I frequently have a hard time sorting out which credit card charges correspond to which Amazon orders.. I enabled Business Analytics for Amazon and I'm looking at a report that shows Payment Date and Payment Amount.. but it's completely wrong on some items. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
What sort of application can i use to put help wanted on my website? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 03:42 PM PST Yea im not very tech inclined and the guy who set up our website is pretty much unreachable I am trying to figure out how to make a section on my joomla website for like a help wanted listing where they can fill out a job application and i will get them emailed to me. That or maybe if there is some website that does this already i can put a spot on my website sending them to such a place then they can fill it out there and i will get emailed. So I hope that made sense and someone can help me out here thank you for reading and replying if it is unclear i will try to make it more clear. [link] [comments] |
Best B2C sales jobs for an exceptional street vendor? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 03:28 PM PST I'm uniquely talented at engaging strangers-- speaking to a group, speaking to a captive audience, or one-on-one-- and getting them to buy. I have a lot of fun doing it, feel like I'm putting on a show, and I love the small chance to share the day with someone and make a case for the thing I'm asking for their time to talk about. I've been lucky enough to care about what I sell, but caring about the person I'm talking to is really what makes it work. It seems like the only path to earn more in sales is to step into B2B, but I really don't enjoy the "salesperson selling to a buyer" dynamic. I've done it, and the whole "kiss the ring" attitude of buyers who value their power and importance over the customers/producers feels like old-school fat that's bound to be trimmed. How does an old-school, on-the-street salesperson leverage their skills to grow? How do I grow if I don't want to make street vendor pay my whole life? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 02:46 PM PST Hi, Does your personal credit tie in with your business credit? Because I have bad personal credit, how would I get a business credit card that I can use for expenses? [link] [comments] |

Need advice choosing an incubator or accelerator in the USA / Canada! Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:59 PM PST Hi, I need advice from people in the subject, my name is Ruslan, I have an idea for a startup to recycling food waste by insects and then process insects into protein for farms. My question is, who can give a hint on choosing an incubator or accelerator in the USA / Canada for non-technical startups? I am from Ukraine, I will be grateful for the answer, I tried to google, of course, but there are too many options - if you have an answer or useful information, I will be grateful, thanks, Ruslan p.s I have average English, sorry if there are errors in the text [link] [comments] |
Equipment purchase and financing?? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:21 PM PST We are a single member LLC. We file business income on a schedule C. My wife and I are Married, Filing Jointly I want to buy an excavator for the business. It will be used equipment in the $25k range. I do not want to spend a large chunk of the cash I have in the business account. Can I use personal money from personal account to purchase machine outright, and then personally finance the machine to the business on some specific term and schedule?? By "self financing" the machine, can I reap the benefit of the whole cost (or some amount of depreciation) of the machine as an expense for the company to reduce my net earnings for the current year? Which would reduce my income and self employment tax obligations? Could my "personal account" charge interest to the company for the loan? With said interest an additional expense for the company? I'm going out tomorrow morning to look at some machines, and likely will find what I am looking for. I was hoping there was a way to get this accomplished for the year 2019, to use against my 2019 taxes. Thoughts?? [link] [comments] |
Is listing a PO Box instead of physical location bad? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:20 PM PST Hello all, I'm a relatively new small business owner providing land surveying services. I think I've done a pretty good job of social media marketing (Linkedin, Instagram, FB, Google places, as well as a website). Google shows that I'm getting hits and web traffic, but I don't get many actual inquiries. I'm currently running the business from my home office, but I have a PO Box listed as a business address because I don't want my home address made public. Since surveying is a professional service (like architecture or engineering), I'm wondering if the PO Box could be reflecting poorly on my professional image. Would it be more likely that I'd get inquiries if I had a physical location? If I got a small office space, 1-2 more inquiries per month would probably pay for it. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Unique artist couple tax questions Posted: 29 Dec 2019 12:21 PM PST Hello! I'll try and make this short and straight to the point. Fiancee and I are both stay at home artists, (sole proprietors). We make about 45k/year combined. A majority of our work comes from a contracted company gig that gives us 1099s. Last couple years we've had almost or actually 0 taxable income from extreme amounts of deductibles (artists can deduct anything). We've had to pay around +/-5k in taxes. My fiancee's sister (married to a contract/tax lawyer) claims we are way overpaying. What restructuring can we do to avoid paying so much? This is the first couple years we're actually profitable and we'll only see an increase in tax payouts... Please help! [link] [comments] |
