She said she would sell me the business and wants me to keep it going. I'm only 21, I have a general associates degree, and the only money I have is from working there part time. What do I do next?

    Researching Competitor Gross Income

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 09:11 PM PST

    Hey folks,

Is anybody aware of any free websites that provide how much a small business gross income is?

I have tried calling businesses who generally tell me to go scratch and I don't blame them, but I am trying to find out how much gross income specific businesses in my area generate as a precursor to starting a similar business. Thanks for any info.

    Bookkeeping/Accounting startups?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 09:02 PM PST

I'm trying to see if there are some well-branded Bookkeeping/Accounting startups that do manual work (not SAAS or software). I have found Bench.

I have found Bench Co; the other sites I found seem to have a horrible design or too rigid looking for 2019. Any bookkeeping company that has similar branding to Bench Co? I'm not interested to find an accountant, but rather write a report about firms that provide bookkeeping which has good branding.

How can one change the negative dynamic of employees in his/her business ?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 08:46 PM PST

I have found this pattern in my business that whenever I hire someone new. He works hard and learns things . But at some point of time, these people get egoistic but lazy & end up doing such acts which harm our business and others :

    Not being on time .

    Becoming tyrannical with newer employees.

Taking leave whenever they want and blocking my mobile number.

They know that finding a new one and training him will take time and these people infect the new one by the time he learns things . These people also won't let the new ones learn the important skills, so that they can remain in power

Some of the employees have made connections with businessmen I deal with and have started his own business close to mine itself - One of them is just next to mine.

This sort of negative dynamic has been going on in my shop but I can't figure what exactly I can do.

Please leave your suggestions in the comment. Any book or guide will be also a good resource .

Thank you Redditors for saving my business

How do I find Like-minded Partners?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 08:39 PM PST

Tl;dr: I am struggling to find like-minded business individuals interested in SEO. Where do I look?

Hello everyone, recently I have started to look into the world of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and digital marketing further. I have had previous experience in digital marketing but had never taken the leap into SEO. For those unaware of SEO in simple terms, it is attempting to rank your website on Google search results for certain terms leading to people being directed to your site. There are many benefits to being able to rank 1st as a single search term but mainly the endless affiliate marketing possibilities due to traffic volume.

With all this being said I have had a tough time finding others who are looking to work with others in this area. I am more or less seeking people who would like to partake in a business venture and see where this may lead us. I have set up all the back end aspects: Website, Domain, Protection, Social media, and Email. I have written a few posts for the site already varying in word length. I am currently struggling to write articles in this niche, however (Survival and Wilderness mostly).

I am aware of being able to hire content writers for my site but this often leads to less than promising results and stolen copies. Finding honest people who are willing to invest just a few hours of time with me on a weekly basis is proving to be challenging. My immediate group of friends and colleagues are not particularly business inclined.

I have spent months researching SEO and everything there is to know about it. All I require now is someone who is business inclined, fluent in English, willing to learn and most importantly able to invest time into their own ventures. While this isn't a job post I do hope that I may find others on here who are interested or may point me in the correct direction.

    Thanks

    Buying a building

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 04:19 PM PST

Hey everyone. I am 50% owner in an S Corp. I would like to purchase a building to expand our space and also for me to live in or rent out another portion of the building.

It seems like starting an LLC and then renting space to S Corp and to me personally would be the best approach. But can I get an SBA 504 loan if I start a separate LLC? The S Corp profits are great so a 504 shouldn't be an issue if I did it that way but not sure about a new LLC.

Also I'd like to use some personal money and some money from the S Corp for the down payment.

I know I need to speak to my CPA and the bank but just looking for some preliminary advice.

CapitalOne Spark | At what point do I give up...

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 10:48 AM PST

Remember when they shut down the mobile app? Remember when the mobile site didn't accept checks regularly? Remember when now, today, their site is down for hours (again) for "virtual dusting." What in the world is going on with this bank? (while they run TV ads about how progressive and incredible their bank and new locations are).

Who got too fed up and switched their business checking? Would love some insight into what you chose after.

    ERP Software CHAOS

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 05:31 PM PST

    Hello Kind Subreddit!

I'm a Purchaser with a fairly new, growing company that requires some more advanced software to manage purchasing and inventory. Until I got here, they've been using... *shudders*... Excel to organize all of this.

The company is agricultural, so there are some strange requirements - example: we need more nematodes every two weeks, but also need new bags of fertilizer when they get down to 6 bags. Also needs to track large farm equipment. It needs to maintain an inventory of equipment and assets.

What software has been that sweet sweet combination of comprehensive, effective and affordable?
    Your insights are greatly appreciated.

    Question about hiring

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 07:43 AM PST

"The first thing we look for when hiring is somebody's personality that fits with your company culture. Most skills can be learned, but it is difficult to train people on their personality"

How much do you guys agree with this when hiring?

If there was a platform for small businesses to hire, that scores candidates based on how they would fit your culture rather than their experience and qualifications - would you use it?

Do you value candidates fitting into your team more than their last experience?

Global property outlook this year is positive and the Philippines market is well positioned to take advantage of it

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 02:55 PM PST

As one of the most dynamic countries, Philippines is now seen as the "Rising Tiger" of Asia due to the remarkable strength of its rising economic. One of the major gainers in the Philippines economy's bull-run is the strong foundation of its real-estate sector.

Along with its sturdy Growth Domestic Product (GDP) which expands about 6.7% last year (2017), the country's property sector has become one of the main gateways for investments both locally and overseas. Over the past two years, Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL), a global real estate consulting firm has recognized the Philippines as one of the Top 30 real estate investment cities in the world.

One of the articles produced by JLL "Global Real Estate Transparency Index 2016", it highlighted the demand for investments in the Philippines. In comparison to other countries, Philippine's main edge in the property market is the country's demographic profile which makes it even more attractive for investment opportunities.

In another report conducted by Lamudi "Real Estate Report 2017", a distinct contrast was seen when comparing with other countries where a vast majority of those within the millennial age group (18–34 years old) in the Philippines are now going into property investment for the long term. Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), which is estimated at approximately 10 million worldwide is also contributing to the demand for Philippine real estate and has resulted in a massive growth in the market.

When comparing with other more mature markets such as London and New York City, Philippine presents a market where the real estate prices are more reasonable and much more affordable. For example, one could still find a property in Metro Manila that costs just one-tenth of a property in Central London and New York City.

However, the Philippine real estate market is currently not considered the most seamless when it comes to foreign ownership when compared with other developed countries in the region such as Singapore, although the vast difference in price is still attracting many foreign investors due to the value that they get when investing in the Philippine real estate market.

In summary, global property outlook this year is positive and the Philippines market is well positioned to take advantage of it with major developers committing to new developments different parts of the country.

I need to try to get a hold of this company called Merchant Bankcard. Their website shows a phone number that is disconnected when you call it. This company has been billing me for over a year, and I have gotten the run around trying to figure out how to try to get my money back or at least stop the charges.

Looking on google doesn't give much info other than they are a registered ISO of Wells Fargo.

Looking for a CRM recommendation that will send automated emails by date

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 01:30 PM PST

I am looking for a small business CRM. The main features I'm interested in are automatic followup emails. For example, if I complete a project for someone, I'd like to follow up with them at 3 months, 6 months and 1 year. It'd be nice if the emails were automatic. All other features are less important.

Any Liquor Store Owners here? We need help testing a revolutionary new product

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 04:57 PM PST

Overstock inventory is a major issue in any liquor store. Especially overstock wine.

Most liquor stores have $10,000+ of overstock wine sitting on the shelves, and it never sells.

We have a new product designed to push your overstock inventory, and attract customers to your store.

If you own a liquor store, please send us an email.

    might loose our only client

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 12:38 PM PST

My business partner and I have small business at this point we only have one client. They've been with us for the past 6 years and we've been giving them bottomed out pricing and never increased the price for them. Now they might be considering to go with someone else because they are bigger and they can give them better prices.

There are couple of people who sympathize with us in that business and recognize for all the services we've provided and accomplished over the past 6 years. I gave them contract and SLA over 2 months ago and the person we report to doesn't respond back. I just sent an e-mail couple of board members asking for a meeting.

Please let me know what would you do in order to save this account I can't give any more discounts at this point.
