Most Americans don't know what fixed-income investing is: study Posted: 03 Nov 2019 10:38 AM PST A staggering 92% of Americans don't know what fixed-income investing actually is, according to a new report from BNY Mellon Investment Management. The online survey, of just more than 2,000 adults, showed that Americans admit to having little knowledge about various fixed-income markets and how to invest in them. Two-thirds of investors surveyed believe that investing in equities "requires more knowledge and skill" than fixed-income investing. Almost 30% believe fixed-income investing is intended only for retirement planning and nearly half express they do not know at what point in time the average investor should consider adding fixed income to their investment portfolios. McDonald’s fires CEO Steve Easterbrook for violating policy by having relationship with employee Posted: 03 Nov 2019 03:52 PM PST McDonald's said Sunday that it has fired Chief Executive Steve Easterbrook for violating company policy by having a consensual relationship with an employee. McDonald's did not provide other details on the relationship. The company said Easterbrook would be replaced by USA President Chris Kempczinski, effective immediately. "This was a mistake," Easterbrook wrote in an email. "Given the values of the company, I agree with the board that it is time for me to move on." [link] [comments] |
