THE INTELLIGENT INVESTOR- ANIMATED VERSION Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:34 PM PST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18r2RCVtqTg&t=63s Hey everyone! I have made an animated video of "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham. Warren Buffett claims it is, "The best book ever written on investing." Warren Buffett was a student of Graham's, and that this book has amazing insight that can still be used today when investing in the stock market, our health, knowledge, and even friends. In this short animated review of The Intelligent Investor, I cover the main topics presented in the book such as investing vs. speculating, the role of inflation, rules about fundamental investing, and margin of safety. Enjoy! [link] [comments] |
Cons of buying US shares being a UK citizen Posted: 29 Nov 2019 05:16 AM PST Hi, I am looking to buy stock in US companies because that's where the big boys are and their economy is doing well. Are there any investors here that can think of negatives or sacrifices to buying US stocks being a UK citizen, I invest with HL for anyone interested, I am looking for further diversity in my dividend portfolio and diversifying into a different country is always a great thing to do in my mind. Books and reading to improve my game. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:51 PM PST Hey everyone I was just curious if anybody could make any recommendations on books or any reading materials that they found really benefitted their trades or just decisions they made in general. [link] [comments] |

Question - Why didnt my limit order execute when the market price is above my selling price. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:33 AM PST Hi, Either my stock broker didn't submit my order or I am fundamentally incorrect on how trading works. Yesterday before the markets closed I put in a sell limit order on a stock that I hold, that order was accepted and it sat there. Today at opening, the price shot past my limit order price, so I think great my order executed. Because there must of been enough volume to buy all my shares from me and shoot past it. But that's not happened, the order is still sat there and the price definitely went above my selling price. Why wouldnt my order execute even partially, if someone bidded at a higher price then my limit sell? Im fairly confused and my stockbroker is a major UK bank. Update: OK I Know why now, all the trades were "off-book" that shot past my price and on book trades werent up to my selling price. Bit miffed but learnt something new today to be aware of. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:57 AM PST The stock $sorl is going private and being bought out at $4.72 per share. Assuming I buy into it now at ~4.3 per share, does this essentially guarantee me the difference between 4.72 and 4.3? [link] [comments] |
$STSN New stem cell/Cannabis company just completed name change & uploading a bunch of filings Posted: 29 Nov 2019 07:06 AM PST This is nuts - It only has a 1.5 million float. Could be a couple dollars with a few trades. I am just waiting till they put out their first press release. Went Pink current this morning. Seems like a big company, if you look at the 12+ filings they submitted in the last 3 weeks. Think I am gonna wait till their first press release. Crazy spread right now lol. [link] [comments] |
