Sick and tired of being told not to burn myself out. I don't have a choice.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 08:46 AM PST

I need to put as much time as I can, every minute, every hour of every day. My company is going through a huge sprint and that's what it is going to take to succeed.

I am grateful that people care, but I can't just 'choose' to work less. That option means failing.

It's temporary, we're early stage and in a few months I'll have a better work life balance.

    Fuck.

Where do I buy bulk quantities of mobile phones?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 06:02 AM PST

I need to purchase 100 mobile phones. Ideally something like the Alcatel Pixi 4. Is there any place to buy these phones in large quantities? I can't seem to find any place online buy such a quantity.

Does anyone know any places that could help?

What are you doing for a cash side hustle right now?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 10:47 AM PST

$110 revenue from my first project at 18, what next?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 06:13 AM PST

Hey guys, I love the entrepreneurial mindset, so I decided to give a shot at making resources for a subject offered in the final year of highschool in my state (in Australia). I spent a long time perfecting my resources, hoping that I'd have a ton of people buy them, which never really happened. The website is here if you want to see it. The exam for the subject happened last month, so I managed to grab a few last minute sales through Facebook Ads.

All in all, it was a pretty interesting experience trying out something on my own and trying to get sales, and it proved to be significantly harder than I initially presumed. But now I want to delve deeper and try something that could actually generate some profit.

What are the best ways to get into entrepreneurship as someone younger without investment money? I love building websites, I've been trying to just email small local business around me and offer to build a website; although I've emailed 4 over the past week and got no responses.

I have almost no commitments, and all the free time in the world for the next few months since my exams are over - So I want to make good use of this time. Would it be worth just thinking of different ideas and implementing them as websites/apps?

I'd just appreciate any sort of guidance and tips, since I'm a bit lost in the world of entrepreneurship, but am super eager to get something going. Thanks!

    The $100 Startup

    By Chris Guillebeau

    About The Author

Chris Guillebeau is a world-traveler (he has travelled to 193 countries—out of 195 countries in the world), a public speaker, blogger, podcaster, and bestselling author who, in addition to the $100 startup, also saw massive success with his first book publication, The Art of Non-Conformity. His books and blog focus on self-development, travel, and lifestyle (microbusiness) entrepreneurship.

    The Book's Main Idea

"This book is for those who take action and those who provide the inspiration."

    Chris Guillebeau

The $100 Startup is a business-centric book whose aim is to help prospective entrepreneurs become aware of the challenges that come with creating a successful small business that generates enough revenue to allow the entrepreneur to escape the 9-5 rat race and start living a 'rich' life.

"The new reality is that working at a job may be the far riskier choice."

    Chris Guillebeau

A look at the main ideas shared in the book

The book shares the following main ideas:

1: Passion + good business sense is the magic formula

"The missing piece is that you usually don't get paid for your hobby itself; you get paid for helping other people pursue the hobby or for something indirectly related to it."

    Chris Guillebeau

The secret to all success is simple really: capitalize on your passions but do so with good business sense by looking into how you can turn your skills (or passion) into a workable and successful product/or service.

Aim to strike what Chris calls convergence, a state where your skills or passions are valuable in the sense that they intersect with the things/elements other people find useful. If you can strike this convergence and from it, package your passion/skills into a service or product a specific audience would find invaluably useful—in that it serves a purpose such as helping solve a problem—you will create a successful business because:

"Passion or Skill + Usefulness = Success

    Or

    "(PASSION + SKILL) –> (PROBLEM + MARKETING) = OPPORTUNITY"

    Chris Guillebeau

For someone starting out in entrepreneurship—perhaps starting with $100 or less—to aim for this convergence, ask yourself, "Which skills or passions can I package into a valuable service," or "what am I good at that I can offer to a ready audience?"

"Ask three questions for every idea: a. How would I get paid with this idea? b. How much would I get paid from this idea? c. Is there a way I could get paid more than once?"

    Chris Guillebeau

2: Where great business ideas come from

If you have ever wondered where great ideas come from, Chris offers invaluable insight. He notes, "Great ideas are everywhere. They are seized opportunities from an emerging technology, or a solution to a hidden or glaring problem."

To find a great business idea, aim for convergence of your passion and what is useful to others, but also cultivate a deep understanding of your target audience not based on conventional targeting wisdom—targeting audiences based on age, gender, income, etc.—but based on what matters the most to the people you intend to serve:

"What do people really, really want? At the end of the day, they want to be happy, and businesses that help their customers be happy are well-positioned to succeed."

    Chris Guillebeau

3: Your success depends on the actions you take

Success—business or otherwise—is not that complicated really. All you truly need to do is take action; yes, spend time planning—because failing to plan is planning to fail—but more importantly, spend more time acting. This is the secret to small business success.

"There's nothing wrong with planning. But you can spend a lifetime making a plan that never turns into action. In the battle between planning and action, action wins."

    Chris Guillebeau

We are fortunate enough to live in an age where all the information we could ever need to succeed in our lives and businesses is readily available to us. At the click of a button, you can test business ideas, launch a microbusiness, and grow it into a thriving business. Without action, however, creating any sort of business success is impossible because:

"Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work."

    Chris Guillebeau

Being an entrepreneur or microbusiness owner calls for what Chris calls, "planning as you go" or "bias towards action." This means finding that convergence and then getting started with implementing your idea right away by creating and launching a prototype of your product/service. With the product/service in play, you can "learn and plan as you go" and scale your business.

    Conclusion

All business success comes from action taken at the right time. As long as you can create something a specific audience will find valuable, you can create a low-startup cost business around it.

Advice on managing a group of peers

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 01:16 PM PST

I'm 20 years old and in college, I had an idea for a business and some friends with skills I need have agreed to help start this venture with me. We've also hired more people that have agreed to work for free until we start making money. Nobody is making money yet, but I still want to keep people motivated and excited about the project.

My issue is I don't have more education or experience than anyone else, but I'm still leading the team. How do I get my team to trust my vision for this company and be excited to see our work through. How do I delegate without seeming pretentious or commanding? How do I get people to get their work done in a timely manner if I don't pay them yet? We're moving at a slow pace currently and I wish to change that but don't know how to do it effectively.

Any advice or book recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

Enjoy Crypto Casino with United Crypto System

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 01:09 PM PST

Check out one perspective project I have found on the Internet. It is called United Crypto System.

United Crypto System is a unique Blockchain-based system that combines three key elements: UCS Gambling (Cryptocurrency Casino) UCS Dapps (Gaming Applications) UCS Bet (Sports Bets) Thus, the platform will provide access to the three most popular destinations in the niche, using a single cryptocurrency and wallet.

Gambling & Betting projects are consistently in the top 20 most successful and popular with investors. In other words, there is no better moment to launch a new Gambling & Betting project based on Blockchain.

What do you think about it?

Amazon FBA not sustainable long term

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:22 PM PST

Hi everyone! I was interested in starting Amazon FBA and I've read a lot of posts and articles about it.

From my understanding, the whole thing is based on buying cheap products from China (alibaba/aliexpress) and sell them for 5 or 10 times more in order to make a decent profit.

How can a business like this be sustainable long term since many Chinese suppliers will eventually start selling directly on Amazon?

And how do you guys feel about selling overpriced low quality products instead of offering something more valuable?

The Profit and Shark Tank are ruining entrepreneurs' understanding of personal equity

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 01:00 PM PST

How often do you see an entrepreneur make a deal on one of these shows only to take their check and put it to work in their small business. WTH?

I want to go onto the shark tank and sell a portion just so I can explain what I'm doing with the proceeds.

"I'm selling my equity so I'm going to take that money and buy a lake front vacation house, a McLaren, and TBM airplane to fly myself back and forth in. It's my equity that I'm converting to cash and damnit I'm going to enjoy the heck out of my doll hairs thank you very much. "

Too many mail accounts! Should I have multiple phones/laptops?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 12:33 PM PST

I used to double phone/laptop before but have cut down to one in the last 2 years after selling our main company. Now my number of business is increasing again, my mail app has 8 email accounts and it's starting to get out of hand.

Do you all compartmentalize with separate laptops/mobile phones or prefer to keep everything in one place?

Hello, We started software consulting recently for developing mobile apps along with UI/UX services for small to medium size businesses. Our strength lies in all things mobile (native including phone and wearable apps). However we have also developed apps before using React Native.

Would love some honest feedback on the site, logo, font etc. Doesn't matter even if you think the site is shitty. Would love to hear why do you think so.

Anything that you think might help us improve the user experience leading to better sales is much appreciated!!

    Lead generation sales partnerships?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 12:16 PM PST

Hello everyone, I'm a new entrepreneur and I've recently started up a new lead generation business using click funnels. I understand the business and I've gotten really great at the technical side of the business, but the problem that I've run into is that I am NOT a salesman in anyway. I understand that talking with the business owners is important and I can do that. I just can't sell a business owner my services to save my life. So what I've been recommend to do is partner with someone that will handle the sales side of things and I'll handle the technical side and have a joint venture partnership between us, but I don't know how or where I can find someone to partner with me and start my business. So my question is, how do I find a sales partner in a lead-generation business in Georgia that will be beneficial to the growth of my business? Thank you for taking the time to read my question y'all and I hope to get some great feedback from you guys!

How to lose $200,000,000.00 in a year.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 12:00 PM PST

One thing I REALLY LOVE is an old prediction because you get to see how it turned out. Here's a 3 year old video for Juno:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHY-zhvhmHk

Here's their Wiki and website: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juno_(company)

    https://gojuno.com/

I don't know of any analysis of the failure yet, but it was purchased last year for $200 million so I think someone will do a failure analysis on it.

The video is pretty generic with the "I really think it'll take off" kind of BS, no real in depth analysis.

Maybe someone knows something about it. Interesting comments in the YT video from years ago.

One thing is clear, someone REALLY SCREWED UP by thinking this thing was worth $200 Million just last year.

    Website cost estimate

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:32 AM PST

I am looking to create an investment research website focused on specific niche sector. Content is all text. I am specifically looking for dynamic keyword/topic search text capabilities, live chat functionality for live web conferencing, as well as a social media component. Examples of similar websites include debtwire.com and reorg.com.

I'm open to paying up to build a best-in-class product. Does anyone have a sense of what something like this would cost and the best place to source developers to build this? I am contemplating using upwork.com.

I have a 88 in front of my company name... TIL it's a symbol of hate....

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:20 AM PST

I am starting a marketing business. I figured some of my customers would be Asians so I wanted a 88 number in front my company name. 88 is a lucky number in Asian culture and easy to remember....however, I had my non-Asian friend tell me that it is connected to white supremacy.

I already bought the domain name, designed a logo with the number 88. FML. Luckily I have yet to register the business name with the state.

I can leave it as is, 88, but then the number may discourage some liberals to do business with me. Or I should change it to 99. What should I do?!?!?

Getting Started in Real Estate at 24

Does anyone have any tips? I want to have properties that are rented out to tenants and such. How much starting capital do you need to start? How do you start with little to no money? Is this a good business to get into?

A little bit of background, I'm a mechanic, I've been "Working for the man" for my entire life and I don't want to do that anymore, I want to be my own boss. Of course everyone has this "I want to be rich" mindset but I just want financial freedom. That leads me to being my own boss, is real estate a good thing to get into?
