Posted: 09 Nov 2019 12:15 AM PST I need to slash the expenses of my business down to the bone. Does anyone know someone that can look at my books and consult on where this can be done. And then review it monthly . Sure : I can slash costs. But I need an expert that can also understand what possible negative effect slashing these costs could also have. [link] [comments] |
Franchise Partnership - How Should I Proceed? Posted: 08 Nov 2019 07:59 PM PST Hello, I'm simply looking for advice for a situation I'm in. Hopefully this is the right place to ask. I was approached a month ago from a friend and his wife regarding a franchise they wanted to set up. They wanted me to help fund and then manage the store. I said ok I'll need to see the sales data and assess the profitability of the store. We don't have the capital to outright buy the franchise so we'd need a loan. They pressed me that the owner wants to make a decision on the store with the shopping complex in the next couple of weeks, so if I could sign the finance assessment form (to see if we are capable of affording the loan based on their review). That way we get the ball rolling as soon as possible. I said fine and signed the forms for the financial dept. to check my credit history and what not. Then, suddenly last night, they pressed me to sign the store 5 year lease form (we haven't had finance approved yet). Moreover there's nothing in place as far as I know that verifies where all the profits/loss are distributed between parties. I've asked them that I cannot make a decision unless I see some documentation here and get finances verified. They did not want to answer and simply pressed me again to sign the lease form right away. They aren't really divulging any information about their goals and how they'd like to run the business and essentially I feel a little on the outer getting informed through text. Honesty my trust in the project has gone down and in all honesty I feel like it's not worth it if we can not communicate our objectives and be clear upfront regarding the management. Moreover, if I sign the lease form there's no guarantee we'd get approved and that's a huge problem they seem to not care about. I'm just looking for advice about how you would proceed and what information you'd be looking for moving forward? Should I simply back away from this situation before I move on? [link] [comments] |
