Selling artisan cheese exclusively online? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:54 AM PST I might be moving back to my home country soon and due to no job prospects i will need to start some business. Since i like brie cheese and it's relatively easy to make I've been thinking about getting in to that. Issue is that farmers market there is a complete shitshow of people trying to rip you off and selling it to a distributor is equally unprofitable unless I'm making stupid amounts so my only option now is to sell it directly online. Do you think this might be possible? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:28 PM PST It is not that I can't handle engineering, I have a 3.8 and I'm a second year. But I feel like I'm losing interest in mechanical engineering. I'm looking into finance and it seems pretty interesting. What is the best way I can approach this. I can get an industrial engineering degree as I have heard it's business related(gonna have to stay an extra semester) or a finance degree (1 year extra). [link] [comments] |
Best way to approach investors with an idea, but protecting it so they don't steal it? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:19 PM PST So I have a great idea, bit I don't have the capital. Now I'm not greedy and I'm happy to let investors get a decent chunk to see my idea come to fruition, and by that I mean I'm prepared to take a minority share in the company to get it off the ground. But how do I best protect my idea so that when approaching investors they don't just say "Yeah cool, not interested" then walk away and do it themselves? Nothing is really patentable, not copyrightable, as it's a good, different blend of existing tech to form a marketable product. It's more the concept of how to put them together that's the idea. Call me naieve, but what is stoping me telling Mr. Smith my idea, he signs an NDA, bit he has beers with Mr. Jones, tells him the idea, then 18 months later, Mr. Smith invests in Mr. Jones who "independently" came up with the idea? Which Degree/Career Path should I get/follow? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 10:04 PM PST Hi. I am currently a senior in high school, and college is right around the corner. There are two degrees that, while they're not my only options I'm interested in, I can't seem to choose between the two in my head. These are Marketing and General Management. Which one would be more beneficial? Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |
What are some helpful tips/strategies you wish you knew when starting out your business? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 10:54 AM PST I wanted to ask this question for a while now, and try to get some first hand, insightful knowledge from the community about some tips you all can share (I'm hoping this is the correct place to submit this post). Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:32 AM PST I'm looking to trademark the brand name "Atly" for a clothing line. I noticed "Atlys" is taken according to http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/ . Does this mean I should think of a different name? Or is it allowed because it's plural? [link] [comments] |
Making products(and brand) always better than competition? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 03:45 PM PST In certain industries companies have to continually update their features and products. Just to compete. Meaning companies have to be able to make more and more demanding products. The brand also has to gain more recognition, and loyalty to keep money coming in. And above all else the product has to offer value in a distinct way. How does a company raising both their product quality and brand reputation to provide a distinct hard to copy valuable product? A product that is looked positively by your customer segment compared to competitors. [link] [comments] |
How to expand service based business? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 09:44 AM PST I have a service based business and have expanded to the point of potentially requiring somebody else to work at the business as I have another job as well, my career. What should I do? I don't want the complicated mess of having employees as the business is not massive, I just need some help to maintain the clients. What are my options for maximizing the business here? [link] [comments] |
