Microsoft wins major defense cloud contract, beating out Amazon

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 05:40 PM PDT

So Adam Neumann was worth a couple mill tops before We, now he’s a billionaire. SoftBank alone’s thrown $19.5B at this company(it’s worth $8B) and it’s never made a profit. This is the greatest bamboozle I’ve ever seen.

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 10:42 PM PDT

This Neumann guy's getting skewered in the press, but damn if he isn't the greatest grifter of the 21st century, arguably of all time.

My uncle has a philosophy with owning his small business: “It’s not your job to make your employees happy.” That is the biggest crock of shit that I’ve ever heard.

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 04:10 PM PDT

If the people working for your business are not happy with their job, they will not want to work at your business. That is a very detrimental ideal to have.

Anyone in Corporate Social Responsibility? Can you tell me what you do and how you like it?

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 04:29 PM PDT

Not sure if this is the right sub.

I have been volunteering as the Community Involvement team leader for my branch for the last two years. It has become my number one passion in life other than my family. I recently found out it could be an actual paying position. Anyone who has done this, can you tell me a bit of your experience?

Looking for a local business database

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 01:16 PM PDT

    Hello Reddit,

I am currently trying to make a list of all of the businesses in my county. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good database that would list public information for businesses based off their region, industry, etc.

I have been looking around the EDGAR database provided by the SIC and NAICS but I'm not sure if more user friendly ones exist.

A few years ago I worked on a marketing project and was able to find a database through Badgerlinks (Wisconsin guy here) that listed competitors in similar industries and a businesses public tax information. Unfortunately I cannot find that same database now, so if anyone knows what it could be I would really appreciate it!

    Thanks!

Do I need to have experience as a security guard to start a security company? Or it's just heavily reccomended?

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 06:44 AM PDT

I'm 18 and just started nursing school (as a stable job security fishnet) but I don't know if it's counter-productive if I needed to be a security guard first. And even if I tried to be, I'm currently 5'8 and not that big of a dude (yet).
