    A Beta

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 02:43 PM PDT

Hi there , I started work on a new idea I had for a community-style hub for creatives. My idea is a website in which creatives can submit their art to me , be it writing , photography , poetry , videography , Short films , music , or anything creative that you can think of really - and that art will be featured on the website. I would like it to have a forum/community aspect - pretty much like a social media platform type concept embedded into the website. My vision is still blurry as to what I really want out of it , but I was just wondering if the idea has merit to begin with. I'm hoping it will become and exhibit and submission based social media platform styled website in which creatives can submit and post their content and if it's accepted it will be showcased. I want it to have a DIY - Zine-esque vibe.

My question is - what is the best way to go about starting a website for something like this , I have very limited web design skill so I was thinking of starting it on Wix for now. My end vision for the website is a lot more intricate and business minded but I think as a starting point just creating a website that people submit content to , like a weekly issue online Zine would be the best way to gain traction.

Should I link the idea with social media like Instagram and Reddit?

    How should submissions be done?

I am extremely new to business and I really already care about this project , so just want some general advice and thoughts on my idea and vision. Critique and advice is all welcome!

Question about bed and breakfast funding

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 11:40 AM PDT

I'm exploring the idea of starting a bed and breakfast in a very popular tourist area that is regularly so busy (and growing by 10-15% annually) that all the lodging in the area is full or close to it from late May to late October.

I'd like to maybe buy a large home formerly used for a multi-unit rental and turn it into a bed and breakfast.

We are coming up on the close of tourist season so I'd have little to no income from the business for the first few months. This will give me time to renovate the way I need to, but I'm not rich and don't have money saved up like a venture capitalist, so how do I manage this?

Would this be part of my overall business loan? Since I've never taken a business loan before, are these set up so that initial payback payments are delayed or that they start off smaller so it's easier to get it going before income actually starts coming in?

Or is this basically impossible unless I have a ton of money to begin with or know someone wanting to invest?
