Selling half of my BYND right here... Posted: 10 Jun 2019 07:49 AM PDT I'm in since low 70s. The rest is house money... anyone else thinking about peeling off some of the position here? [link] [comments]
Stock Watch List - Long Term Holds (+5 Years) Posted: 10 Jun 2019 06:41 AM PDT Interested on what your thoughts are on buying in on any of these stocks. Some of these are at 52 week highs, however I am in for the long term. Are there any that you would buy in now and ones you would watch a bit longer? Also looking into the upcoming IPO of Chewy and Crowdstrike. The only one of the bunch I currently own is GOOG (CB of $620). Looking to get more involved/active in my portfolio. Have long holds for the last 10 years. Thanks for any input. :)

Sold some stocks to buy more FB Posted: 10 Jun 2019 07:07 AM PDT Sold some Appl, and bought FB. 70% of my portfolio now is FB. Their revenue growth is bigger than Amazon, and their P/E is just 26. No debt. Billions in cash. They have info on billions of people. Whatsapp. Instagram. Crypto. Marketplace. FB is The Internet in some countries. BEP 173. See you in 5 years. What do you think? I personally don't get how can it be so cheap. [link] [comments]
How soon should I purchase MSFT, DIS, V, UNH Posted: 10 Jun 2019 01:45 PM PDT Thinking about buying my first stocks soon. I want to purchase MSFT, DIS, V, and UNH. Analysts rate them all as "Buy", but are these safe enough to buy at their current prices ( I plan on holding them long term ), or should I wait for them to fall? I keep seeing people say that their is a downturn coming. Thank you for the help, please go easy on me. [link] [comments]

Question to understand Long term and Short Term tax Posted: 10 Jun 2019 11:28 AM PDT Hello, In my portfolio, I have 100 shares of AAPL. Few were bought in Jan 2018, few in August 2018, and last purchase was in Jan 2019. Say I sell stocks TODAY, how and what determines the tax bracket (short term v/s long term) that gets applied? Posted: 10 Jun 2019 01:32 PM PDT When should you focus on income, rather than growth? My portfolio is currently focused on growth, but some people say that I should be aiming for income. Frauds in the diamond industry Posted: 10 Jun 2019 01:21 PM PDT In diamond industry the frauds are possible due the dependance of the market players on bank's loans. And the story of Nirav Modi, arrested in London in March 2019, is one of these. Celebrity jewelry designer Nirav Modi, coming from a family of diamantaires, was born in India, but grew up in Antwerp. After drop out of the college, Modi joined his family in diamond business and started to import duty-free cut and polished diamonds to the domestic market while sending low-value diamonds for making export jewellery. His brand Firestar Diamonds became one of the most reputable across three continents with stores in London, New York, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Singapore, Beijing and Mumbai. In January 2017 the Income Tax department of India raided over 50 offices of Modi and found cash and jewellery that allegedly revealed tax evasion of Rs 500 crore ($5 bln) by Modi's firms. But that was just the beginning. Soon the State-owned Punjab National Bank has filed a complaint, accusing Modi and his firms of fraudulent transactions worth Rs 11,000 crore ($110 bln) — nearly one third of the PNB's net worth for financial year 2017. It was later revealed that two of the bank's employees helped Modi by issuing fraudulent letters of undertakings (LOUs). The bank stated that accused firms presented a set of letters of undertakings with a request to allow buyers' credit for making payments to overseas suppliers. No need to say, Nirav Modi was not going to refund these money. Nirav Modi is now arrested. But how many more Modis are out there today, serving the inflated inclosed diamond market needs? With Diamond Market opened these scams will forever be history. [link] [comments]
Which is the bigger regret - selling too early or too late? Posted: 10 Jun 2019 01:02 PM PDT Just curious. I see a lot of posts about "ah I sold at 80 and now it's 160" (BYND I'm looking at you 😂) and not a lot of the converse. Any good stories about either?? Question about dividend payment Posted: 10 Jun 2019 11:46 AM PDT I own some BXMX, which has an ex-dividend this Thursday. Here is their schedule: The following dates apply to today's declarations: Record Date June 14, 2019 Ex-Dividend Date June 13, 2019 Payable Date July 1, 2019 My question is, when can I sell the stock and still get the dividend? If I sell before the payable date, will I still get it? Thanks! [link] [comments]
BYND at 178 and my heart hurts. Posted: 10 Jun 2019 07:39 AM PDT I bought at 81. First stock purchase ever. All my money. Freaked and sold at 66, losing a good chunk of change. Today ad I opened my account to see they are at 178. I no longer own any, as I didn't buy back in. The feeling in my chest is scary. I'm so angry. Anyone else screw up this bad? How do I recover? Looking to add more positions for sectorial diversification. Posted: 10 Jun 2019 07:38 AM PDT Hi all! When talks about a trade war with China began in the past month, I sold all of my positions expecting stocks to go lower. As prices went lower, I very slowly averaged into stocks where I liked the price and bought long-term holdings. This is my current portfolio that i've built within the last month. Most of my positions are technology and healthcare, and i'm looking to add more names to better diversify my portfolio. To do this, I bought positions in Chevron, Beyond Meat and Altria. I'm looking for some other names to add to my portfolio and I was wondering if you guys could give me some recommendations? Perhaps there are stocks from the consumer discretionary, staples or materials sectors that you think are worth adding to a long-term portfolio? Right now i'm looking to add Procter and Gamble, Berkshire and Boeing. See screenshot of the portfolio i've built in the past month + performance: https://i.imgur.com/5HDBQmM.png [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Jun 2019 11:10 AM PDT So I'm looking for some stocks that are not expensive like around $6-9 that give a dividend of around 8-15. My idea is that every month id get a dividend and reinvest that into buying more, until I get a good profit. I know for sure this will take time but I'm interested would this work? I'm currently trying this with ford. Although slow I'm going to be buying a share every month. [link] [comments]
