My idea is bigger than I am, and I don’t know what to do about it. Posted: 16 Jun 2019 11:41 PM PDT I (36M) have been an entrepreneur my whole life. Started when I was 11, cleaning cars out of my parents garage. I followed my dreams into the industry I'm in now. I got some vocational training, but never went to business school or college of any sort. So to say I have gone to the school of hard knocks would be an understatement. That hasn't stopped me from doing what I love to do, and trying to be the best at it. I'm not very successful to most standards, but I feel like I live a comfortable life. That being said, I don't want to be doing what I'm doing for the rest of my life. It's very labor intensive and stressful. So for years I have been trying to think of "the next big thing" I could possibly go into. And about a year ago, it finally dawned on me. But, it involves branching out into the digital world, which is not my area of expertise in the least bit. It seems that I can apparently dream up a website, but I have no idea how to put one together. And the people who I have dealt with in the past have often times over sold, and under delivered. So perhaps that's why I'm a bit intimidated with the idea, because I've never actually dealt with a web developer who has seen eye to eye with me, or been able to give me what I wanted. Or maybe I'm just wallowing in my own self pity. But I just can't get past the hump of convincing myself that I can do this. I need help. But I don't know where to turn. So I came here in hopes that someone else has been through this before, and could possibly shed some light on what worked when you felt like your idea was way too big for you to handle on your own, and what you did to make it happen anyways? New company. Not paying taxes on items sold. I'm worried. Posted: 16 Jun 2019 11:14 PM PDT We've been in business 8 months and have around $300k in sales in a handful of states. Our business setup is mostly online. We import from China, warehouse in California, then ship and install in business offices. We have been collecting taxes appropriately as a separate line item on each sale, but not paying any. I know in California, for example, you're supposed to have a tax license and you're supposed to pay every month. I assume all states are similar. My partner says we'll be okay if we pay in a lump sum at the end of the year when we hire an accountant, and that the IRS isn't tracking us yet bc it's our first year, and they're more lenient on new companies. I have a hard time believing this. How fucked are we? [link] [comments] |

Seeking $1,000 to 2,500 investments (high returns). Posted: 16 Jun 2019 01:48 PM PDT There is an industry called gloving. In this industry my main competitor makes about $5 million a year selling glove lights. I have made a mask for users to wear while giving there glove light shows. This all sounds strange but the videos explain it all. I estimate we can realistically get to $500k a year selling my masks. Here is a short demo of my product: https://youtu.be/LFCYp0zh6ak A short video of our competitor on shark tank (3 mins): https://youtu.be/KW_XKLBm9m8 Full video (12 mins plus): https://vimeo.com/132783196 Watch for first light show: https://youtu.be/sCv8r1mpMCo If interested email me or message me on here and I will send you my pitch deck. So I’m starting a clothing brand... Posted: 16 Jun 2019 08:25 AM PDT I'm 27, have an associates in business (getting further schooling though atm) and I do a lot of parkour and freerunning. I have an idea for a clothing brand and want to make it happen. Obviously it's going to be more tuned toward athletic wear, but nonetheless I have questions. Mainly how do I begin, what do I have to do to get rights over my brand name, how do I set up a website to sell the clothing, any guides on how to actually package and ship the clothing, and just any general tips and advice you may think I'll find useful. Please no discouraging comments, just helpful feedback. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
