Business Partner (35M) Made Snide Remark at Me (26M) Posted: 30 Apr 2019 10:49 PM PDT I was chatting with a potential business partner, making small talk and discussing future plans. It was a completely normal conversation about the next steps/companies we should reach out to, until he suddenly interrupted me and said, "...Yeah, when you say stuff like that, it kinda reminds me of when you turn the TV to a channel with just static and white noise." I was completely taken aback as the comment had nothing to do with what we were discussing and seemed like personal "diss" out of nowhere. I pretended like I hadn't clearly heard him to avoid a conflict and/or looking confused. Granted, the age gap between us and my senior status in the deal may have generated some tension in the relationship from the outset, but is this a red flag? Should I continue working with someone who seems so petty? [link] [comments] |

Best way to stay updated on a certain topic? Posted: 30 Apr 2019 08:47 PM PDT Hi guys, I'm starting a website about TV, and I also want to write news articles. So I want to stay updated on the TV industry as much as possible, so I can write news about upcoming models and brands as early as possible with as much details as possible, so I can stay ahead of the competition. What is the best way to stay updated on a topic such as TV? I don't want to wait until everyone else reports something in order for me to learn about them. I want to be the one that is the first one to report upcoming releases and stuff. [link] [comments] |

Why is audible so intent on me using my credits? Posted: 30 Apr 2019 03:41 AM PDT Im curious, I seem to get these emails with increasing frequency as my number of credits build up. I sort of understand the logic from two sides:
Any other thoughts? On another note, how do you think amazon pays publishers? I get a credit for $15 a month and I can buy any book regardless of price. Does the expensive/cheap books balance out or do they pay them less than market rate for their books. (market rate for a distributor that is) I am also interested, do you think a publisher would ever go for a pay-by-the-page kind of deal? (maybe even scale the payment over a poisson distribution for the pages of a book) A lot of questions I know, just interested in what everyone thinks. I find their whole business model quite interesting. [link] [comments] |
