What is my best use of effort right now? [Pre-Launch] Posted: 12 Apr 2019 12:23 PM PDT Hi all, I have a goal of creating a podcast-first marketing agency. I have a background in audio, radio, and broadcasting and want to tie some of my more recent digital marketing / PM experience into a side-hustle I enjoy and am passionate about. One of my freelance client has expressed interest (and commitment) to doing a podcast series, but he won't be ready until Fall. I did some market research, built a website, identified my pricing model and build a pricing calculator based on my services offered, and shared the idea with a couple of friends who are going to help me practice my operations with a couple of 'fun' podcasts. I'm feeling pretty good about everything and have plenty of energy / motivation, but I can't decide how to best allocate my efforts at the moment. I'm split between: - PPC Campaign to confirm interest and begin generating leads - Content marketing in the form of blog posts to start building SEO authority - Hit the pavement and start prospecting I'm open to any suggestions, insight, or criticism! Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How to measure the success of sponsoring events? Posted: 12 Apr 2019 07:43 AM PDT Hey all, I get asked fairly frequently to sponsor certain events, in exchange for (e.g.) a half page ad in their program, and/or they'll put up our logo on a screen somewhere. I've done it a few times, but it feels kind of like tossing money into the void. I have no way of gauging the response or success of sponsoring the event. We'll often provide a specific coupon code, which I can tell if it was redeemed and how many times, but sometimes that number comes up zero. I have a "how did you hear about us?" freeform text field on our signup page (though it's not required). I've been asked for sponsorship contributions of anywhere from $100 to $2000, and I've stayed closer to the lower end of that. Is there anything else I can be doing to measure sponsorship returns? Additionally, how can I properly judge if something is worth sponsoring for a higher amount like $1000? [link] [comments] |
We're back again with a revised plan, what do you think? Posted: 12 Apr 2019 10:36 AM PDT We posted here about a week or two ago asking what people thought about our plan to get funding for Site 2. It basically boiled down to "you'll fail 100%" which was true. We've changed our plan and we think the chances of getting to Series A will dramatically increase with this new one. If you don't know what we're talking about, we're essentially making a YouTube style video sharing platform which will hopefully surpass YouTube in numbers sometime in the coming decade (not promotion, just a quick explanation to let you know what's going on). We hope it will go something like this:
Please point out any potential flaws this plan might have as we want to make our already extremely low chances of success a little higher. The hardest part will definitely be getting the initial seed round in time for June without anything presentable (we have learned a reddit post with 1k upvotes is nowhere near enough which makes a lot of sense). Thank you for everything, this subreddit has saved us. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Apr 2019 10:23 AM PDT I'm a 17 year old student in South Australia. I have quite a bit of experience dealing with full-stack development, using Python, Node, ASP.NET and React, as well as dabbling in machine learning. I want to start a startup, but the problem is, I can't seem to come up with any ideas for my product. (so basically the opposite of the "idea people", who has lots of ideas but no means of actualizing it) I know that ideas are dime a dozen and is generally considered to be useless. I've considered going through problems/hobbies in my life, but I couldn't think of a problem that was easy to build a viable product around. How do you find your ideas? [link] [comments] |
How do I forecast the cash flow of a social network app project? (Please...please...please) Posted: 12 Apr 2019 05:31 AM PDT Hi All, First post here so excuse me in case my question is not submitted properly. I'm working on the business plan for a social network (event/meet) app that I would like to develop. The app and the functionalities are work in progress but everything is going smoothly. Sincerely I'm sure of the idea and it feasibility but of course I need proof for my potential investors. I need to assert theoretically the sustainability of the project. It's my first time working on an app business model and I find hard to find the data to evaluate assumption of the model properly. I was wondering where to find data and statistics about costs (averages) related to marketing, advertising, user retention and possibly on revenues related to user/usage data selling. It is of the utmost importance that I try to finish my valuation soon so that I can present it to investors before Easter. Any suggestion is very much appreciated. M. [link] [comments] |
