How do I get bigger furniture customers? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 05:42 AM PST I'm an assistant manager at a warehouse style furniture store and I'm looking to boost my sales as well as get higher value sales. I plan on selling beds to hotels/nursing homes, but there aren't too many in my area. How else do you suggest I find more and bigger prospects? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2019 09:44 AM PST Hey all, I'm selling in a dying industry and I'm somewhat lost on what to do. I have a proven sales records and I make over $125k a year. I've always thought about getting into Saas/IT sales but my biggest fear is taking a pay cut due to inexperience and unfortunately I can't afford it. I apologize for this post being somewhat bland but has anyone else had success jumping from one industry to another without taking a massive hit in pay? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2019 09:08 AM PST Ok, so here is the situation. Basically, we're selling thermal simulation to companies who are developing anything that requires cooling (engines, batteries, etc.). It's a mix of software usage and consulting. We make the current state of their cooling visible in software and give recommendations on how to reach their desired outcome, if necessary we run more iterations to see how the changes affect their design. It lowers their testing cycle and saves them a lot of money and it also can identify problems. We have gained some customers who came to us because they had problems with their cooling systems and we were able to solve their problems perfectly. They were all medium to big companies and we are allowed to use them as a reference. I know that our enemy is "change", they're used to do things their way and although it's obvious that we can help them they it's not easy to convince them change their habits or try something new. Some of them might not have the budget or clearly stated that and some of them think it's a "nice to have" What would you do in this situation? [link] [comments] |
SMTP Provider for Cold Email Campaigns Posted: 24 Feb 2019 06:09 AM PST We have been using Gmail to send out our cold email campaigns and finding deliverability has been dropping over the last 6 months and wondering what you guys are using and what sort of results you are getting. There so many factors that impact a campaigns success but looking at trying some new providers, both shared and Private. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2019 12:08 PM PST I work in a niche magazine and news website of the industry. We have a booth there but I would also like to visit booths and get people's information. I know that I won't sell anything there, I would just make a quick approach, get to talk to the right person and get their business card to follow up later. Thank you for any insights you may have! Good resources to learn to deal with inbound leads? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 07:58 AM PST Hey pals. So I'm starting my first SDR job on the 4th selling ERP software. I've been doing door to door my whole career so this is a pretty big step up. From what I can tell is it's an extension or something that runs off of Quickbooks online for cloud and Dynamics GP for desktop. Not 100% what the relationship between our software and those is but I'm sure they'll explain it to me. I'm their first SDR and there's about 110 inbound leads per month I'll be dealing with. I've never really dealt with inbound stuff before, I've been cold calling my whole career in sales. So any resources to start sharpening up with that would be super cool! [link] [comments] |
Any advice on insurance sales or test the market? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 11:26 AM PST Hi everyone, I'm about to graduate with my BBA in marketing and I have been interning with liberty mutual for over a year as a sales agent, and it's really old-school tasks e.g. cold calling off lists, and trying to network with car dealerships and loan officers. I have an offer on the table, but I'm really not so sure. I feel like I'm a great sales person, but our rates kind of suck. It's kind of giving me a distance with sales altogether, when coming into the internship I had a great track record of sales. I have interviews as with great companies at financial advisor positions and then some for management trainee and analyst positions. Do you all think with my experience I should try to test another sales market or get out altogether? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2019 11:16 AM PST Outside of looking in my area and asking people whose area of expertise might not be in the industry, what organizations should I consider looking into to increase my connections and knowledge, and which groups or individuals frequently provide classes around or in various parts of the country (specifically Western Washington in my case) that would be of benefit to trying to improve my ability in sales? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How to best get freelance b2b sales position? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 11:12 AM PST Hello, I read a post here that many people do not like cold calls and they would enjoy outsourcing this task. How would I best go about finding these opportunities? I have b2b experience selling from Central Europe to whole Europe, some African markets and Middle east. I would like to find technical/industrial product/service to sell (not into software/saas, even I read that there is the most money). I could agree to receive compensation:
I read that many complain about crappy leads or not targeted enough meetings, so maybe I should pitch option #3 the most? Thanks [link] [comments] |
What is the point of an email? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 10:22 AM PST Just like the goal for a phone call is an appointment, is the goal of an email to get the phone call? I'm in car sales btw. [link] [comments] |
What industry has the highest cost of customer acquisition? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 10:22 AM PST Hi guys, I'm curious if you have any insights about what industry has the highest cost of customer acquisition. I'm currently building a unique product that significantly brings down the cost of lead generation, and am curious about which niche I should position it to, as I could charge more money per user the higher the CAC is. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Inbound Sales Calls Monitoring - What are you currently doing? Posted: 23 Feb 2019 06:19 PM PST This question is directed at sales managers and directors, but anyone's opinion is welcome. What do you currently do to monitor inbound sales calls? Do you just look over metrics of what was closed, or do you have some way to evaluate the content of the calls — i.e., which product they're calling about, how much in quotes has been provided by each staff member, compliance of the staff member with procedures, etc.? Thanks in advance for your insight. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Feb 2019 11:06 PM PST Anyone know of any good resources for remote SDR jobs? Ive seen one or two floating around out there so I know they exist, just looking where to find them [link] [comments] |
Accountability Group or MPLS Connections Posted: 24 Feb 2019 05:20 AM PST Hello everybody, I am trying to assemble a small group (4-6 people) to share ideas and hold each other accountable with prospecting. Everybody needs a push from time to time, and my hope is to spark the competitive fire that got me to where I am. My industry normally requires a sales cycle of 9-12 months and targets large corporations and professional service firms (legal, tax, consulting, etc.). Finding people who can relate to the long sales cycle would be great. In addition, I am hoping to make some more connections in the MPLS area. Are there any sales people who would be interested in a meetup? Feel free to send me a PM. [link] [comments] |
How to Sell Powdered Food I Created Posted: 24 Feb 2019 08:29 AM PST Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm a first law student and found it incredibly difficult to keep up a healthy diet with all the required readings. So I came up with the idea for a healthy and convenient meal replacement powder that I could have for any meal to have a nutritionally balanced one. So I have a few students and professors drinking it now. I am wondering how I can start growing my sales grassroots? I don't want to grow too fast where I wouldn't be able to keep up with production so I'm thinking I really want local people who will be longtime subscribers to the product. In going off this— are there any tips to getting people to subscribe vs only buy the single product? Subscribing currently offers a better price but are there more incentives I could use? Thank you again for any tips! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Feb 2019 11:59 PM PST So some back story to this. I work at an insurance agency that mainly sells health products and a few life products. When I took this job over 2 years ago I saw this as a good opportunity to learn more about sales and use my insurance licenses. Now this is a small office and going into this it was implied that I would get some mentoring from the owner and that business would be slow at first because I'm new but would pick up. The mentoring I never received and my boss and her husband are rarely in the office as he is over 65 and she is 64 so I don't expect to get any mentoring from them in the near future. My real issue that I would like some input on or feedback or whatever is on leads. When I started it was only myself and one other agent that had the phone leads funneled to them but since I started they have hired 2 more agents and now the leads are more spread out plus the only other way they prospect is by buying lists of people turning 65 and sending out post cards with all the agents listed and these cards don't have much of a return. What do you guys recommend I do to get more leads? I'm at a loss as to what I can do. Thanks for any feedback. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Feb 2019 04:41 PM PST Currently working for an amazing company with an awesome culture and the best manager ever. I make good money but we are selling in a dying industry and it's like pulling teeth getting on the radar of the decision makers. What we sell is an afterthought and our opportunities are shrinking rapidly. But of course, quota is growing. Currently interviewing for a role that would pay much better, for a company that is currently leading the industry in innovation, and has a fantastic product that people are excited about. Future has a strong outlook. It's a small startup gone big and reviews online say leadership is sub par and it's very political. Both are IT Sales. Any advice? Have you ever left a position for better pay and regretted leaving your other company? [link] [comments] |
Never get ahold of prospects - never get called back..... Posted: 23 Feb 2019 08:51 PM PST When I can get ahold of who I'm trying to reach, I set first scheduled meetings at a somewhat above average rate. However, I'm finding I almost NEVER get ahold of them. The guys I'm calling own the business but also tend to spend time on job sites so they often aren't in the office. And I never seem to get called back. I've been doing pretty good getting through gatekeepers and they'll actually sound like they perceive value in what I'm saying and will send me through to my prospects direct line/voicemail even if they're out of the office. But I'm not getting called back when I leave messages. Do people ever return your voicemails when it's a cold call? Any tips on actually getting ahold of your prospect directly? (Especially when it doesn't seem to be a "getting passed the gatekeeper" issue). Maybe I need to go one layer lower and start going for a different person with a lower position instead of the owners who seem to be busy and hands on/out of the office a lot in this industry..? Successful Lead Nurturing Cadence Posted: 23 Feb 2019 03:06 PM PST Anyone have success (meetings and closed revenue) with "nurturing" leads via a lead nurturing cadence (I.e email them educational content every 2-3 weeks without asking for a meeting) . Do you use this cadence/campaign for leads who tell you "no for now" or who don't respond ? What does your success look like when nurturing leads this way? Any tips ? [link] [comments] |
