Key Takeaways from Cali PCG meeting Posted: 28 Jan 2019 03:50 PM PST 1) the $6 billion in potential debt added appears to be mostly to "keep the lights on" and keep it functioning. 2) The approval does not approve any increase to rates to service the debt. 3) At this time they are not putting contract renegotiations on the table if PCG files for bankruptcy. I believe that PCG is still on track to file for bankruptcy. This appears to be a stop gap measure to make sure they can pay employees and keep operations going while they declare and sort it out with creditors. Although they didn't approve any rate hike, they likely will in the future to compensate for the extra debt load as bond interest payments start becoming due. Realistically, this cost will be shared by the consumer through the extra rate hikes in the following years and the investors because the time delay will likely depress earnings for a few years at minimum. The public comments indicated that most of the public who bothered to show up don't have faith in PCG. And don't want it's continued operation preferring to switch to a public/municipal style utility. Disclaimer: I shorted PCG today on market open. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jan 2019 06:42 AM PST link to post on r/fitbit https://www.reddit.com/r/fitbit/comments/akhkr3/my_fitbit_versa_fizzed_and_exploded_popped_while/?ref=share&ref_source=link I can see this story gaining traction, between any recall possibility and just bad press, surely the stock could see some downside [link] [comments] |

Who's excited for Microsoft Earnings release on Wednesday? Posted: 28 Jan 2019 07:43 PM PST Anyone else holding Microsoft? If they beat their projected earnings do you think their stock price will rise? I literally sold all my stocks except Microsoft on November lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jan 2019 04:03 AM PST My original question regarding Braidy Industries can be read here. It seemed like things were pretty shaky back then, given their hopes of a $500-million loan from the German government and the impact the trade war was likely to have on that; not to mention the other $1-billion they need. But some posters here were able to give me some perspective. Now, with aluminum prices falling due to the lifting of sanctions, I am curious to hear the thoughts of the good people contributing on this sub who are much more capable of 'reading the tea leaves' than myself. I'm hoping someone here can give me an updated assessment based on their latest SEC filing. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
What's the point of lowering earnings guidance right before you're scheduled to announce earnings? Posted: 28 Jan 2019 07:26 AM PST For example NVIDIA just lowered earnings guidance today, but they announce quarterly earnings in two weeks. What's the point of this? The stock gets hammered today, or it gets hammered in two weeks. Why don't they just wait until earnings (when everybody is expecting it)? [link] [comments] |

Study: will stocks go nowhere over the next decade? Posted: 28 Jan 2019 05:34 PM PST The next decade won't be as kind to those who buy and hold as the previous decade. It will be more of a trader's market, with massive up and down swings [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jan 2019 09:16 AM PST I want to invest but I dont know where to begin. What site should I use? Info about me: I'm in college and have just started a small business. 20 years of age. [link] [comments] |
How to learn the Stock Market? Posted: 28 Jan 2019 08:55 AM PST What is the best way you learned how the stock market worked, how to read charts, what to use, how much to invest, or where to start. I'm just asking for books, websites, articles, or videos that best helped you. Thank you! [link] [comments] |

Alibaba's Stock Rises as CEO Brushes Off Trade War Worries Posted: 28 Jan 2019 06:45 AM PST After a rocky end to 2018, things might be looking a bit brighter for Alibaba (BABA - Get Report) investors. On Friday, MKM Partners' Rob Sanderson raised its price target for the Chinese commerce giant to $245, writing that Alibaba's stock is capable of weathering the macroeconomic concerns that dragged down shares last year, citing opportunities in its Alibaba's cloud division, a moderate spending outlook and other positive factors. https://www.thestreet.com/technology/alibaba-stock-rises-ceo-shakes-off-trade-war-worries-14846035 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jan 2019 07:42 AM PST I think to hold is to bet that this company is the needle in the haystack that will grow and grow in the long run; which, it might. But to sell, I wouldn't really be making much. I have only had this stock since late September 2018. For the most part, I stick to passive index investing. Hence the small portion of my assets in a singular stock. So I will appreciate others' insights. [link] [comments] |
How bad is my portfolio doing? Posted: 28 Jan 2019 04:47 PM PST I invested the day before the first big drop in February of last year to the tune of $10,000. I've poured in $2,000 two different times during big drops in the past few months. Right now I am down 15% of my portfolio overall. I bottomed out at a 29% portfolio loss. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jan 2019 01:34 PM PST What type of lawyer should I be looking for? i need one that specialized in contracts and web laws (to create a website)? I need this information for a startup and wanna make sure I am specific when putting out advertisements for lawyers. Probably an easy question I could look up, but I find the reddit community to be extremely helpful! [link] [comments] |

How stock-market effect any company share price when stock-market goes up and down? Posted: 28 Jan 2019 05:28 AM PST suppose my company need a $10 Million and i have only $5 Million so i issued shares worth of $5 Million on date of January 1, to be simple i am using small numbers here, Now i issued 5 shares and each share price is $1 Million and i sold it very first day and now my company is started running. Now on Jan 2 i got order from one company of $1 Million and my company would generate 100,000 profit after all payouts of salary and other expenses. Now here is the thing, on jan 2 i got half payment (500,000) and rest will be paid when company deliver the goods, now on Jan 30 company delivered the goods and i got rest 500,000 payment. now company made money on Jan 2 and Jan 30, now how stock-market will effect my company's share price as share price will not be constant it will be changed every second. now suppose above thing goes on for 10 years, means company is doing good business, but how share price will be effected if stock-market goes down and up?
