    Thoughts on Tumblr?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2018 12:27 PM PST

What is everyone's thought on Tumblr choosing to delete all explicit material on it's platform later this month? Who will take its place for millions of viewers?

Since i was in high school and tumblr became a thing, it was widely known for its explicit content, and I've always seen it like so. I went on tumblr recently to check it out and it seems like many of these explicit amateur pages are either migrating to reddit, SNAP "Premiums" or Other adult websites. Some adult pages have thousands of followings. I'm not saying this will revive SNAP, but I am curious on everyone's thoughts as to where users will be allocated.

Question on how to handle a vlaue/dividend portfolio

    Posted: 03 Dec 2018 12:46 AM PST

    Hello ladies & gents,

I've recently started to build a value/dividend portfolio with currently 13 different, diversified stocks (aiming for 25). This is part of my retiring plan (we're talking about a point 30+ years in the future).

As a rule, I invested the same amount of money in each stock, € 3000. I plan to keep each stock between € 3000 and € 4000, meaning I sell down to €3000 once the stock reaches €4000 or buy up to €3000 once it reaches €2000.

The money from selling or dividends is either re-invested in adding new stocks or adding to an existing pile.

Does this strategy make sense to you? How would you improve it?

    Thank you :)

Is the usual 8% return due to appreciation?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2018 09:21 AM PST

Meaning, if I invest in an S&P 500 index, and get 8% back, is that due to appreciation or just?......

Meaning, compare it to real estate. If I invest 500k in a property and get 50k a year returns (from rent), that excludes the appreciation of my property, which adds to my net worth.

How does that work with stocks?

How much money would you have made in Nintendo Stocks if you invested in this period?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2018 04:27 AM PST

I don't know much about stocks, so I'm just assuming from basic information you would make money off this.

If you purchased in the indicated picture, how much money would you make from that increase at the current year?

I'm just trying to understand how bad companies like EA, Blizzard are losing money and how it impacts investors.

I remember Nintendo had a similar predicament during the WII U era, but it's interesting to see where they are now.

    Time to buy EA?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 07:42 PM PST

After falling from $150 to $85, a nearly 44% loss. Is it time to buy EA? Seems like this video game "blue chip" is poised for a rebound.

Does buy-timing matter on the weekends?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 09:30 PM PST

Let's say some amazing news about Tesla comes out Saturday morning.

Person A: Puts in a buy order immediately on Saturday morning

Person B: Gets the news late, and puts in a buy order on Sunday night

Will person A's purchase buy at a lower price because he was "first in line" in some sort of queue, or is every order somehow simultaneously initiated when the market opens on Monday?

    Thanks!
