GOOG versus GOOGL. How do buybacks work?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:12 AM PST

Noticed on Friday GOOGL moved up 1.38% and GOOG moved .56%

That is a pretty big difference.

I am curious how buybacks work with the two ticker symbols? Could the difference be from a buyback by Google?

When options are given to Google employees which type are given?

    Any help much appreciated.

Sonos is not a stock for the faint hearted but on a price to revenues ratio of about 1x and 15% growth it looks like good value

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:34 AM PST

The company produces premium audible products and has provided revenue growth for 13 years seeing off cheaper competitors. The stock has fallen almost 50% after a Q3 revenue decline even though this had been flagged prior to its recent IPO and was due to tough comparable as the Q3 was pitted against last year's release of PLAYBASE -- Sonos' first home theater sound base. Q4 was better though with 27% revenue growth.

Consensus forecasts point to the company turning profitable this year which would be a powerful catalyst to push the price/revenue multiple much higher.

This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stocks are not suitable for everyone. Please do your own research.

Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM) Down 15% on CEO's Departure

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 12:06 AM PST

This company was doing really well until he announced his departure and nothing else seems to have changed. This looks like an otherwise strong buy. Does this look like discounted goods, or damaged merchandise?

How would you go about projecting Adobe’s revenue in a DCF?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:48 AM PST

I'm trying to do it by market share with digital media, digital marketing, and print and publishing but it's hard to find market sizes from 2015-2017.

    Thoughts on CRISPR?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 01:02 PM PST

I'm kinda new, but as far as I know they have no real competition in their niche, and gene editing seems like the next big step in medicine. I figure that whenever it is they make their breakthrough(s), 5/10/20 years from now, the stock will skyrocket

I realized that stock analysis is infinitely meta

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:03 PM PST

Stock analysis is inherently analyzing what other traders are going to pay for the stock at a later time, yet at the same time all of then are also trying to do the same thing. This causes trading to be like: Analysis guy analyzing people which are analyzing other people which are analysing more people which is analysing more people...

What are CBD plays listed only on the NYSE and Nasdaq?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 01:53 PM PST

Surely with all the media hype, some bigger institutions that don't invest their money in otc markets are looking for plays. What companies would qualify, I'd like to start watching for bigger buy orders.

Thinking of buying a couple of APPL stocks to get my hands wet. Need help

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 12:06 PM PST

Oh god, where do I even start? There's so much out there and the more I read the more I realize I have no idea what's going on. So many terms being thrown around.

Here's my plan, and let's go thru it and see where my logic is falling short:

    1. I wanna buy some APPL stocks. just a couple really.
    2. Keep these stocks for awhile
    3. Sell them to see how that happens and gain experience
    4. Buy more stock and just keep adding more overtime like a long term investment.

Here's a question, where is the best place to create an account? I'm not a US citizen, if this matters.

I assume the main gain would come if I decide to sell my shares in a few years when the APPL price is up high. Right?

    EDIT: AAPL? wooops

Why is Axon growing revenue at only 20%? Is that understated because they are giving product away for the first year?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 03:52 AM PST

Great product. Huge addressable market. Huge potential. But growth rate seems slow. When do they book revenue from sales?

    S&P 500 vs Berkshire Hathaway

    Posted: 01 Dec 2018 03:21 PM PST

Historically, Berkshire Hathaway has crushed the S&P. Both in bull markets and in bear markets.

So, my very stupid question is, why not just buy BRK.b instead of SPY if you're in it for the medium-long term? Sure SPY distributes dividends and is more diversified, but... so? BRK.b still beats the S&P any day.

    Thank you.

The worst of the trade war with China is over. Who are we buying?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:26 AM PST

It seems that China and the USA have found a way to stop the torture on the trade war. Any thoughts on which stocks to target on Monday? I was thinking chip stocks will see a nice bump.

And do they have the potential to earn me any real money ? Please share your experiences with these apps, and any other useful information.

Recently opened a Roth Contributory IRA, how often should I purchase more shares of an ETF?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2018 04:45 PM PST

I recently opened a Roth (finally!) with Schwab, and I was able to buy up 5 shares of SCHB and I plan on contributing around $100 a month to it (I'm 22 and am paying off loans, but something is better than nothing). And it occurred to me that buying a single share right away every month may not be the best idea.

So what I'm inquiring about is, should I be buying up as many shares possible with my $100 contribution (it'll be 1 share with some left over for next month), or, should I keep it in cash and buy a bulk of shares at the same price when the market dips, and keep a similar base? Any other advice is welcome as well!
