A free tool for analyzing companies with 3D charts! Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:55 PM PST What's up everyone! You might recognize this tool I've been working on for the last few months and I just wanted to share the updates I've made to it this week! Last time I shared it I had just implemented 3D charting which gives users a really cool way to walk through a company's financial statements and visualize them from all angles. One of the things people asked for then was the ability to compare multiple companies on the same chart and the ability to build custom charts rather than just looking at standard financial statements. So, here we go! Just as a quick example I'll share a couple of key components from the FAANG stocks over time: And just as a quick demo of some other stuff you can do, here's an example comparing different items from multiple financial statements: Netflix Revenues and Net Income vs Operating Cash Flow This part of the site is still very much in beta but I wanted to push an update tonight so please bear w/ the bugs for now! It works best in a modern version of Chrome and requires WebGL. This is NOT mobile friendly, though the rest of the site is and there's plenty of other stuff to explore. Please do let me know if you have any thoughts. Looking forward to hearing everyone's continued awesome feedback! Cheers :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 07:52 PM PST I sold some nflx, looking for what the heck to put that cash into. I'm thinking of tax advantaged Muni funds. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Dec 2018 09:33 AM PST I'm relatively new to stocks and wouldn't mind some guidance. I have just been trading individual stocks but with crude oil down I wouldn't mind getting in while it's low (assume it'll go back up). ETFs cover the industry correct? Which would you recommend with the market as it is? [link] [comments]
Nvidia doing something about excess inventory. Posted: 02 Dec 2018 05:07 AM PST Nvidia just partnered with epic and created a starter bundle in fortnite included with the GTX 1060, 1070, and 1070 ti; the three graphics cards that accounted for their inventory surpluses from crypto mining. This is the type of marketing that reassures me to hold onto Nvidia. [link] [comments]
Recommended reading for short term investing Posted: 02 Dec 2018 10:42 AM PST Anyone recommend any books on short term trading? I have long term positions I understand, but I want to learn more about short term trends and trading. [link] [comments]
Question about Baidu's declining earnings estimates Posted: 02 Dec 2018 01:37 AM PST Estimates earnings (in M & CNY) for Baidu at www.marketscreener.com 2018: 28 416 2019: 21 339 Does anyone have an explanation to the 25% decrease in earnings estimate? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:11 AM PST I notice some unexplained numbers which i need someone to confirm. From the table, you can notice long-term marketable securities value dropped as much as $37B, hence impact the retained earnings and total shareholders' equity.
Does this mean that AAPL suffered loss in Long-term marketable securities. Hence, the shareholders' equity dropped significantly within 9 months even though company are generating record net profits. The shareholders' equity evaporate as much as 25%. What is really happened? Bad investment decision or poor hedging? Also, i noticed that they removed the Total Shareholders' Equity from item 6 Selected financial data in 2018 10-k. This is one can be found on old 10-k. Seem like they're trying to hide this from summary. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:07 AM PST Disclaimer: as you probably guessed already, I'm new to all this. I'm guessing the answer is no, but I would request explanations of why. PS links to evidence will be much appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:05 AM PST The decision by MSG to spin off the Rangers and Knicks offers sizeable arbitrage potential. These two assets alone are worth an estimated $5.5 billion compared to the market cap of $6.4 billion. With sizeable other entertainment businesses including the iconic stadium and little debt it looks like good value. Most SOTP estimates but the valuation at about 25% premium to Fridays close. This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stocks are not suitable investments for everyone. Please do your own research. [link] [comments]
