Is buying puts still viable these days?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2018 07:20 PM PST

With such a volatile market, the premiums on options have gone nuts. Making money by buying options are harder, not easier. Volatility goes both ways. Is it still worth?

buying CDR stock (Warsaw Stock Exchange) as US investor

    Posted: 05 Dec 2018 05:50 PM PST

I have called every broker I can think of, even brokers who claim to trade on the WSE (Interactive Brokers, Schwab, etc) and none will trade CDR (CD Projekt Red) stock. I am beginning to think it's just not possible for me to buy it in the US. I can trade "OTGLF" ticker which seems related to CD Projekt but that has nearly no volume and does not seem to follow the value of their real stock on the WSE.

Have any of you done this kind of thing before? Looking for some advice...

Value Chain info on Square, Inc?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2018 03:39 PM PST

Not sure if this belongs here but I'm doing research on Square (the financial services company) and can't find anything about their value chain.

I've researched for hours and especially can't find any info on the inbound logistics, operations, and outbound logistics. I can make inferences about their marketing and sales and service.

Any help or links you guys can send my way?

Allegiant (ALGT) is a low cost airline that has carved out an interesting niche

    Posted: 05 Dec 2018 01:27 AM PST

Instead of focusing on keeping its planes in the air as much as possible it targets small airports with underserved routes that provide a much better return and, according to management, has loads of room to grow routes to mid sized cities. ALGT has no competitor on 80% of routes.

Also interesting is that the firm is on schedule to complete its airline upgrade this year from pretty ancient McDonnell Douglas MD-80s to Airbus A320. That should boost margins over the next couple of years as the new planes are more efficient, have lower maintainance costs and (having just one type of aircraft in your fleet) means the company can significantly reduce the amount of pilots it employs.

This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stocks are not suitable investments for everyone. Please do your own research.

    Facebook's valuation is compelling

    Posted: 05 Dec 2018 06:57 AM PST

What has driven this drop in SP? A very marginal miss in Q2 earnings when revenues were up 42% and EPS up 32%? Its baffling.

There maybe a limit to the number of people on the planet but the opportunities to monetize and leverage growth off Facebook's huge network remain huge.

Priced on a multiple of just 21x TTM earnings cannot last long.

This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stocks are not suitable investments for everyone. Please do your own research.
