    Autism business

    Posted: 11 Nov 2018 10:02 PM PST

Hi my son has autism and he wants to work, I spend all my time with him and I schedule the little activities I do around him.. I want to work but its difficult so I figured I could open a business thats pretty much an activity or rec center for disabled individuals.. That way he can work as well as socialize with others like him and I can work as well... The problem is I have no idea how to get started so any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Opening my first bar, whats a good partnership agreement? [LONG]

    Posted: 11 Nov 2018 08:12 PM PST

Firstly, i'd really appreciate any help I can get about the following situation.

I've been managing cocktail bars for just over 6 years and for the last year and a bit I've been closely watching the market for any opportunities to open my own space. I knew this would take some time so I thought the best practice would be to monitor the market and get a feel for whats a good or bad deal when finding a space, signing a lease etc while saving up some capital for my own business when I decide to jump into it.

Recently, I've found a basement bar that has just been built by a cafe owner who also operates a hole in the wall cafe on the ground floor. His experience has been operating nightclubs and he told me he and his family are a bit burnt out running the cafe itself since they opened a year ago. They've opened the bar area with the purpose of running it as a small cosy bar but it has no real purpose. It's turned into a seating area for the cafe upstairs and the operating hours are quite sporadic.

I met with the owner last week and he's quite warm to the idea of finding an operator to come in and work the space as a cocktail bar. In the time I've been saving I don't have enough money to completely redesign the space but the way its setup at the moment will suit my needs for the budget I can afford.

What is a good way to approach entering a partnership with the owners and their existing business? Should I organise a sublease through my own company? should I buy into their company with what money I do have and negotiate a profit split of both businesses (and help them run their cafe also)?

I'm happy to answer most questions that might help me make the right choice!

Are there rules/regulations for product labeling (online retail)?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2018 06:14 PM PST

I have miniature figures made in China and made of PVC. They will be shipped to the US and then sold via my online store which I will then have shipped to the customer. What are/Where can I find the product labeling requirements for my products? I'm selling only to the US for the immediate foreseeable future.

I've done some research but it all seems to vary and I'm not sure if/what is even legally required. Any links or information would be extremely helpful!

    Thanks in advance!

    Where do you find investors?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2018 05:33 PM PST

I'm working on starting my own business with my partner, and while we have big dreams in terms of what we'd like to accomplish, we're having difficulties funding everything/finding time to work on it since we have to pay bills. We're both aware that investors are a thing, but are painfully unaware of where to find them, how to pitch an idea, or if what we're looking to do is something an investor would be willing to fund. Anyone with experience in this area, what did you do? Where did you look? We'd greatly appreciate any insight.
