Posted: 09 Nov 2018 06:36 PM PST My best friend started a business back a few months ago, it's a small store and website. Competition for the store is weak, almost non-existent; for the website it's pretty average, but the website is really just a side dish to the store. I work a few shifts at the store a week as a secondary source of income and really enjoy it; I have enough money to start my own store, but I'd rather just start a second one under my friends brand. He said he is interested and asked me to bring a proposal to him. The idea here is that it would be like when you want to purchase a Mcdonald's; you don't own Mcdonald's but you own that one store and take a large percentage of the profits and give some back to the McDonalds (correct me if I'm wrong). I prefer an arrangement like this for a few reasons: (1) The store requires license's to sell certain products and operate it, I am under the impression that I could run the store under his. (2) Get access to all his suppliers and connections, significantly cutting down on the amount of leg work that would need to be done. (3) Store is well known and has customers over a large geographic extent. I don't think I need to explain the benefits of this, they're obvious if you have ever been to a chain before. (4) Don't have to compete with my friend. What are my first steps? Could you point me in the right direction? Also please correct any of the assumptions I make in this post if they're wrong! Thanks! How do you promote your business on LinkedIn? Posted: 09 Nov 2018 09:29 PM PST Hey, I work for a SaaS B2B company, my company's LinkedIn page is getting below average views. I don't understand how I should proceed with that, what kind of content modification should I do. Here is the link for my company's page. Could someone go through it & let me know how can I improve it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Nov 2018 06:02 PM PST Hi guys and gals, I'm writing a thesis report for economics and I've decided to look at 3 case studies of how dangerous climates, prosecution and 'dirty' money could lead to great business opportunities for those willing to take the jump. I just wanna say I don't agree with it but it's interesting. my question is simple, I'm looking at the mineral wars in the Congo and I want to ask: if you think that as a business idea it would be profitable to create multiple fake organizations in the region to legitimize and 'wash' these blood minerals and sell them on to brokers in the west. With the whole aspect of war I understand that there are big discounts and if a morally corrupt person could take advantage would it work? This is for my thesis where I take a public opinion poll so try not to say 'ur gonna get shot by somebody or end up in prison'. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |

NYC Business Opportunity/Dilemma Posted: 09 Nov 2018 02:02 PM PST I have a clothing store owner who has asked me to essentially be the manager while he is not there. He's giving me complete control of store while providing daily sales report Location: One of the lesser gentrified Brooklyn areas Store: Clothing Wholesale and Retail Company Short Description: Store has an assortment of generic dresses/ jackets / Jeans / Shirts / Shoes for men and women However they also have a sizable collection of current clothing from top brands such as H&M, Guess, Old Navy, banana Republic Its pretty blatant, they keep the actual price tag ie $39.99 and place their $14.99 tag on it. I'm talking current season items. Owner explains he still makes a profit with this discount. Is there any methods I could utilize to increase sales? Inventory is extensive and vendors are always available. [link] [comments] |
