Significant Insider Trading Activity (Last 7 Days) Posted: 08 Jul 2018 08:41 AM PDT This is a list of the top 20 companies that experienced the largest change in insider shares in the last seven (7) days. The SEC defines an insider as any officer, director or 10% shareholder. It is not illegal for these people to buy or sell their own shares. In fact, since most of them get paid in stock options, it is expected. However, it is illegal for them to trade on inside information that has not been made public. So for example if there are drug trial results that are bad and not public, insiders cannot dump shares. That said, many people have observed that insiders - in general - seem to have a good track record at timing their purchases. All trades that are marked as part of a 10b5 plan are excluded from this report. Largest Insider Buying (Last 7 Days)

I have Disney Stock I just remembered about. Posted: 08 Jul 2018 04:14 PM PDT Stupid question. Mainly a stock market one. I've dabbled in the stock market and such but this is the odd question. Back in 2002 my father bought shares in Disney for me and in a tech company. Not sure how much or any info on it I just was told don't sell it and I receive shareholders stuff in the mail every few months. He passed suddenly last May, step mom passed soon after him. We are clueless to where to even start. Since its Disney stock every Google search leads you in 10,000 different ways. Who do I go see for help or call? A CPA? Lawyer? Call Disney's front desk lol. Like I said I have no info on it just know my names on it. Where do I start? I would like to find out how much I own it could be 1 share or 1000's I dunno. The stepmother side of the family kids and stuff fell of the face of the earth after the both passed so they're no help. They took everything or tossed everything and ran as this occurred across the country. So can't even get father's paperwork incase there's any info in that. I understand time in the market is better then timing the market in most situations. But.. Posted: 08 Jul 2018 12:10 PM PDT If I'm 19 years old and just started my Roth (maxed it out). Is it a good idea to put the rest of my money (about $5000) into index funds/ ETFs right now? I can't afford to lose that money and I need to pay $6000 in rent next year for college. Do I stay in cash? I'm very new to the stock market and don't like risk. Upcoming mining companies what to expect? Posted: 08 Jul 2018 12:19 AM PDT Hello there, I've gotten more and more into the stockmarket (Swedish, Balkan and the US market specifically) and I have a question about mining companies. The company in question is Beowulf mining. Currently a stock is worth 0,62SEK (Which is equal to 0.071 USD or 0.060 euro for reference) Now Beowulf is currently mainly prospecting but they own the rights to a potential iron mine in Sweden (In Kallak.) Currently the project is on hold and is awaiting a decision from the Swedish government. The reason why it's on hold is because it's threatening the lifestock of the Sami people. However depending on how the Swedish election goes in September the decision could come relatively soon. And from what I've read and heard the govornment is fairly positive (all though not much information from the representatives have come out yet) If it would go through and they got the permit to open the mine are there any trends that seem to happen with other companies opening a mine? Beowulf themselves claim that it's a steady increase of the stock going forward but is there any good place where I can look up how other iron mines have grown from the opening of the mine to after say 3-5 years? Edit: I ended my last sentence a bit too early and forgot to add Euro after the 0.060. Fixed now [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jul 2018 03:37 PM PDT Hello Reddit, I just turned 22 years old two weeks ago and made a promise to myself to start investing this year. I've always had an interest in investing and have been keeping up with the market for the past few years. I was planning on starting by investing with M1 Finance because of my ability to create a fractional share portfolio. My initial investment is going to be $100 and will reoccur every other week. I was going to start with a Tech portfolio since I'm familiar with the industry and believe in the future of some of these companies within it. Is there something better I should start with? If not what percentage should I allocate to each stock in the portfolio and any I should add. Clean energy companies would be awesome! Thank you! The stocks are: Apple (%). Intel (%). Facebook (%) Microsoft (%). Snap inc. (%). IBM (%) Nvidia (%). TSM (%). Alphabet (%) Toyota (%). Significant Activist Hedge Fund Activity (Last 7 Days) Posted: 08 Jul 2018 08:41 AM PDT These are the latest Schedule 13D forms filed by activist investors in the last 7 days. Activist investors are investors that make an investment with the intention of influencing management in some way. There is evidence that following activist investors into investments can generate excess returns. Schedule 13G forms, in contrast, are filed by significant investors with no intention of influencing management (such as Index funds). There is always a lot of interest in insider trades, but what a lot of people probably don't realize is that hedge fund activity is probably more predictive of future returns than insider activity. The reason is that hedge funds (a) have large research budgets, and (b) have a choice where to put their money. In contract, insiders have no choice where to put their money, but only when to time their transactions. New FilingsThis table lists new 13D filings in the last week. A new filing does not necessarily indicate a new position, as investors frequently accumulate in advance before reaching the filing threshold. Amended FilingsThis table lists amended filings in the last week, and is useful for monitoring changes in existing investments or when a fund closes a position. I have eliminated all filings with less than a 5% change in ownership. Posted: 08 Jul 2018 10:51 AM PDT Hey wanted to ask the community for credible literature to learn how to trade and what not. Was also thinking of playing the stock market game to help out. Books on investing in assets/stock market Posted: 08 Jul 2018 09:28 AM PDT I have just finished my university bachelor's degree in Economics & Business Economics and thus have a intermediate level of understanding on corporate finance and asset pricing. So I know the prominent theories surrounding securities, futures, options, capital/securities market line, financial & accounting analysis, risk diversication etc. The thing I lack is the practical knowledge on investing in portfolios. So I know the basic theories, but I don't know where to invest in assets, what different possibilities there are, how to manage my returns etc. I was wondering what books you guys would recommend to learn these things. Thanks in advance! Stock market beginner living abroad - general advice and brokerage accounts Posted: 08 Jul 2018 08:02 AM PDT Hello everyone! I am a German/American dual citizen, aged 20 and still a student. I've been living in Germany now for the past 8 years. I've come into a bit of money through my grandparents and want to start investing long-term. However - evidently German Banks only open brokerage accounts for clients with "US-relations" in very special cases (due to a huge paperwork workload for the IRS, as I understand). The only alternative for me is to start a brokerage account back in the states, as relinquishing my citizenship is not an option for me. The truth is: I am completely overwhelmed by many things. I'm a musician with next to no stockmarket-related knowledge. Can anyone/other expats confronted with the same problems give me some general advice / a suggestion in what US-bank to open my brokerage account? I am looking at Interactive Brokers and or Schwab, but would appreciate input from more seasoned veterans. The money amount in question is less than 20k - or there any implications here? I'm not looking to do a lot of buying and selling - mostly a safe option to keep my money. I will be staying in Germany long-term (due to family). Really really grateful for any advice! Posted: 07 Jul 2018 08:12 PM PDT Background: I'm 18 and from Australia, I've been looking at stocks for awhile (although I don't know very much about it to be honest- if there's a page that explains everything that'd be great). Are stocks worthwhile investments and worth getting in too? I don't really know what else to ask to be honest, any information is much appreciated! Thanks Edit: where does one make an account/ do stock trading? Is there any app? Cheers [link] [comments]
Hello with understanding stock market Posted: 07 Jul 2018 08:12 PM PDT Ok so I understand a little bit of it, I've been in the crypto world for the past couple of years. But lately my friend told me about Robinhood, and I decided it would be cool to start learning about stock market, buying and selling and everything. I want to start investing using that app, but I want to make sure I have enough knowledge on the subject first. Any websites I should look at, tips and tricks, any useful help? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Jul 2018 09:29 PM PDT So lately I've been thinking about leaving the stock market and joining another type of "stock market". Right now I have a little bit over 16K investment in the market. It's all spread into 3 accounts. I have 2 taxable accounts and one Roth IRA. I'm thinking about leaving the stock market because I don't think I'll be making enough money to be able to retire. I want to have at least a couple million dollars before I retire but I just don't see that happening right now. I'm just being realistic, and I'm not talking about having couple millions of dollars at 65. This stock market that I'm thinking about switching to is basically for clothes. Lots of people buy and sell limited clothes and shoes for hundreds and hundreds of dollars sometimes even thousands, depending on how rare and limited they are. And buying them for as low as $160 and highest $300-$350. A lot of money can be made in this market but you have to know what you're buying. You can't be buying anything and expect to make a lot of profit. Some items actually resell for way less than you got them for. I'm not planning on selling my stocks right now, I'm gonna wait until it goes back up and then move. I just want some advice before I do a move this big. [link] [comments] |
