Significant Insider Trading Activity (Last 7 Days) Posted: 03 Jun 2018 07:34 AM PDT This is a list of the top 20 companies that experienced the largest change in insider shares in the last seven (7) days. The SEC defines an insider as any officer, director or 10% shareholder. It is not illegal for these people to buy or sell their own shares. In fact, since most of them get paid in stock options, it is expected. However, it is illegal for them to trade on inside information that has not been made public. So for example if there are drug trial results that are bad and not public, insiders cannot dump shares. That said, many people have observed that insiders - in general - seem to have a good track record at timing their purchases. Largest Insider Buying (Last 7 Days)Largest Insider Selling (Last 7 Days)
Count column is number of transactions. Direct Changed columns are shares bought/sold that were held directly by the reporting person. Indirect changed are shares bought/sold that were indirectly held by the reporting person, such as those held by spouses or other family members. What stocks are you looking at this weekend? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 05:40 AM PDT I think over the weekend is the best time to be an investor. Overall you get much more time to go over companies without the nagging idea in the back of your head that the market is open. I love taking my time going through annual reports and quarterly earnings. I think one should use the weekend to their full advantage. What companies are you looking at this weekend? I am going over all Buffett investments. Just interested to see if I can spot a pattern. NASDAQ Biotech ETF (IBB) - Bullish Options Action Trade for June 4th, 2018 Posted: 03 Jun 2018 05:26 PM PDT On Friday's Options Action, the crew analyzed the performance of the biotech sector. Large cap biotech stocks have underperformed small cap over the past few years and started to show signs of outperformance lately. Many of the larger cap biotech names have very cheap valuations and have bottomed over the past few weeks. Coupled with the bullish channel on IBB suggests a bounce higher to the upper trendline. Expecting IBB to trade higher, Michael Khouw suggests buying a July 103/110/117 Call Vertical Risk Reversal for a $1.25 Debit. As of Friday's close, this spread is trading at $1.60. We've structured this trade in OptionsPlay so you can analyze and view this trade along with the supporting technical chart at your convenience. Posted: 03 Jun 2018 04:43 PM PDT I don't know if this is worth a new post or not, but what do you guys think of TPB? They own Zig Zag, Vaport Beast, other vaping companies, and some Snuff brands. They sell internationally. I was looking for a different angle into the MJ business, so I bought some shares a few weeks ago. Their Thomas Reuturs is extremely bullish, great P/E, just became public in 2017. Since going public there has been a lot of growth. Not much sentiment for this company probably because most of the focus is on the large caps like CGC (which I am also long on) Interested in any opinions on this and also maybe if someone has a thought of a different angle to enter the MJ industry from, especially with the upcoming vote in Canada. [US-MARKET] Is a 401k right for me? Episode 2 Posted: 03 Jun 2018 07:11 PM PDT So you decided to come back after all those fees. Today is going to be about 401k if you haven't guessed from the title of the post. Alright, don't jump ahead of me; I know there are other retirement funds, I'll get to them. I'm not going to get into everything in 1 post cause reddit readers have such a short attention span. YES YOU! What is a 401k? Basically its a form of retirement plan that your employer can offer to you (GET A FKING JOB). 401k is offered by your company so obviously they are limited in things they offer. Mine only gives me mutual funds. Why the fk do we want to put money into a 401k if they are limiting my choices of investment? Because most companies offer a contribution match. This is basically free money, unless you're retarded (Stop reading and go die). So from my last post I talked about tax this tax that etc. A 401k retirement fund is actually TAXLESS! OMG!(DON'T JUMP THE GUN) they are however NOT FEE-LESS! Calm down I'll explain everything. So the way a 401k works is by taking a % of your income of your choosing. This means that this money does not get taxed before you invest (winning already + % company match). However, those mutual funds/ ETF(exchanged traded fund)/stock that your company offers sometimes have fee's and they do add up if you choose to diversify. How to utilize your 401k properly? If your stuck from the paragraphs above let me explain. So lets say you make 40k a year putting you in the bracket of 25% tax. You can trick(defer taxes) the system into making you make 30k if you put 10k into your 401k fund. This way you can pay less taxes and still save for retirement. **READ BOTTOM FOR ADVANCE INFORMATION** So now I taught you how to defer taxes and pay less taxes on your income tax. As always I give you the catch to every situation! The limits of a 401k are as follows, you are only allowed to put in the max of 18.5k per year excluding your employer match. You will be taxed heavily if you decide to take the money out before 59.5 years old. SO DON'T TOUCH THIS UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO! (I will not be going into RMD if your already that old, you should know your shit) You can however take the money out for SPECIAL REASONS such as: Medical bills, Disaster Relief, First Time Home Buyer, 401k Loan, Education (Will edit in more) **Secret tax info: THIS IS HOW REAL TAX WORKS IN THE US. if you make 40k a year, you are taxed slowly up the ladder. so you will get taxed 10% of the 7,550$, then 15% of 23,100$, then 9,350 at 25% ( 7500+ 23100+ 9350 = 40k) its not a full 25% at 40,000. So for this person making 40k a year, as long as they can live with 30650 a year and puts 9350$ into their 401k, they will only get taxed up to the 15% bracket. This is how you beat the system. ** On the next episode, it will be about ROTH Long term investment. Also stay tuned cause I will be giving a comprehensive outlook on what to do depending on your needs/income at the end of the LONG TERM INVESTMENT! NOTE: If there are things I left out, PLEASE SERIOUSLY MESSAGE ME. I'll edit in some info! $XOM or $GOOS to invest as a college student Posted: 03 Jun 2018 02:06 PM PDT As title says, I know it's not much but as a college student I've tried putting money into stocks. I only have $1000 I really believe that $GOOS can go drastically higher with their expansion into China, and also firmly believe they'll continue to grow. I've watched them become increasingly more popular in my college campus. and also being seen as a "luxury item" that kids want. $XOM is a great dividend and continues to grow, and I believe is underappreciated. The dividend would help just to keep reinvesting and seems to be a lot more of a lower risk than $GOOS. Also with the belief of gas going up in price, $XOM would as well. Any help or thoughts/opinions. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Is it fair to say a target date fund is more diversified than an S&P ETF? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 11:06 PM PDT Am I thinking about this correctly? That a Vanguard target date fund is essentially a broad market ETF plus bonds and treasuries and maybe some EMs? [link] [comments] |
