| Am I getting decent home loan interest rate? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 09:32 AM PDT I currently live in the Central Valley of California and am buying my first home. My realtor swears that she's getting me a competitive rate with the company she works with, but it seems so high. I also have a Chase Checking account and have seen you get .25% off if you do a mortgage with them and have an account with them. My realtor also told us that the more banks you check with the more they'll drop your credit score so I'm weary to just go shopping around. Here's the numbers: Cost of home: $291k Down payment: 60k (20%) Type of Loan: 30 year conventional Percent interest: 4.875 Just hoping to get some advice here. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |
