Investment Professionals: Would you recommend someone enter the equities analyst (buy-side or sell-side) industry? Posted: 04 May 2018 10:34 PM PDT (If it this is against the rules for being offtopic, feel free to delete or downvote) I worked in Growth Equity (<100M enterprise value) since graduation. Left that now, and have been working for a few months as an Economist. I like investing (thinking about businesses and markets is fascinating) and jobs where you need to really research and think deeply. PE didn't give that to me (it's just process process process) and an economist career is challenging, but i miss investing. I'm thinking a career in equities analysis could really be a great match for me. This has been after trying to learn equities (using /r/securityanalysis, wso and /r/investing) for a few months (didn't really have time while i was in PE). Have yet to stick my beak out and get a job, but apparently i'm in a good position. Thing is, i've been hearing mixed opinions from people who work in the industry.
