Software, or methodologies, for once a startup starts growing

I am managing a web development company with 15 developers, 4 QA testers, 3 devops, 2 marketers, 2 UI/UX guys, 2 artists, a customer service managers, and a few other roles. I feel like my organization is at the point where we can grow into something much bigger than we are, but we need to put the right kind of management systems in place.

I've spent the past week playing with every team project management software that I could find. I like the simplicity of trello, and I like using google docs for people to write OKRs. I wonder what tools other people are using, and what positions my company may be missing. Please share.

When joining, what did you negotiate?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 04:55 PM PDT

    Hi Redditors!

Thinking of joining a startup. Scanty details, but what details they're sharing are compelling.

Questions for ppl who've joined early stage startups: what did you negotiate against the risk you were taking of joining something that could become wildly successful or be gone in a year or two? I don't mean salary; I mean things like equity, bonuses as the startup exits various stages of it's life, or other creative means to ensure the risk premium you're accepting when you join is rewarded with some kind of return. Let me know the creative ideas you've negotiated!

Insights & Comments on our project

    Posted: 29 Apr 2018 12:33 AM PDT

    Good day all,

I was just hoping to get some feedback from the community regarding our start-up.

    website: www.betaingenuity.com

    Project Video: https://vimeo.com/266908795

Nutshell: we came up with the solution to build fully equipped houses in ~24hrs whilst still being eco friendly and completely modular in design. We have some other cool and interesting ideas in the works but we are trying to get this on off the ground.

I do know our social media pages are not up to standard but they will be by the end of next weekend.

Any helpful advice is always welcome:)

Is it tacky to have an "investor" tab/section on our website?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 08:31 PM PDT

Outside of cold calling, grabbing coffee, and dm-ing angel investors, my partner was considering having a specific tab and section for investors. Nothing too crazy. Just to give off the idea and impression that we are open to investors.

My initial hunch is that any investors who come across our website and are interested aren't the type of angel investors we want (the one with connections to VC's and help connecting/networking with other people in our industry.

But I was wondering if you all had any insight on this topic? have you had a section marketed towards investors? Was it successful?

    I wanna legalize today

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 01:25 PM PDT

I could be unknowing about the best way to do it ...

I want to have my business named this week, using online resources. I want to be able to name it so it is trusted / legally recognized / ready to produce branded content ...

I want to be able to get a website that represents it, work towards copyrighting some product designs, post web content in its name, get financed, start planning its brick and mortar... hire coworkers.... stuff like that.... I mean not all at once of course but I'm ready to start up now! It's exciting but calming at the same time, when you realize you are really ready to start!

But I don't know the right way to do it. My first step is to get my iPhone and iPad using its account in the iStore, which requires a Paypal or Credit card in its name. I'm working solo right now and hope to publish/produce my first product within the month. I already have a few ideas of what comes next but I gotta start and take it each step when it's time to!

What is the best way to do that this week, or even this weekend already? To get a Paypal or otherwise account, do I need to be legally recognized to do it?

(The only hang up is that I'm in the middle of protecting my old name and legally changing it...)

    Lemme know :)
