Is it too late to get into AMZN and NFLX? Posted: 06 Mar 2018 07:34 AM PST |
Posted: 06 Mar 2018 06:31 AM PST I'm doing market research on Adobe and it seem like they realistically have "zero" competition. Am I wrong? Obviously there are 3rd party products out there that compete against Adobe product. But since these 3rd party products have very little market penetration, I just don't see them as a worthy competitor. [link] [comments] |
Best Long Term Dividend Stocks? Posted: 06 Mar 2018 09:58 AM PST Looking through some stock filters and seeing companies like Ford, P&G, Coke, Pepsi, etc all having 3%+ dividends and a very stable/long life. Would there be any reason to avoid these stocks? It seems getting a 'guaranteed' 3% return, reinvested, would be good way to make stable/reliable returns. Looking at Buffett's portfolio selection, there's plenty of companies with strong dividends, from Apple and Monsanto, even Coke! Is there some wisdom to dumping a more significant portion into these stocks? What are the best indicators for long term suitability or performance? Which do you hold? [link] [comments] |
Study: what happens next after February’s stock market selloff Posted: 06 Mar 2018 11:17 AM PST February's correction broke the S&P 500's streak of 15 monthly consecutive gains (Total Return basis). Historically, this has been a medium-long term bullish sign. The stock market always made a new high in the next few months. Markets don't die on insanely strong momentum. They die after there's a bearish divergence http://bullmarkets.co/study-what-happens-next-after-februarys-stock-market-selloff/ [link] [comments] |
Blackberry(BB) sues Facebook(FB). Posted: 06 Mar 2018 11:30 AM PST BlackBerry is suing Facebook for patent infringement. Will this make a difference to either stocks share price? [link] [comments] |
BZUN up 20% on EPS beat. New all time high! Posted: 06 Mar 2018 08:59 AM PST Im in at $32, I considered selling today but I love the market they are in (as I heard about them after investing in SHOP) and it seems that they are firing on all cylinders [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Mar 2018 08:05 AM PST I like this company for the long haul, despite it's recent earnings report. Logistics network looks promising and they're heavily invested in improving it. also expansion into Europe/US, investing in AI, blockchain, and robotics. Anyone else see this as a good long term play? [link] [comments] |
Finally started trading stocks Posted: 05 Mar 2018 08:17 PM PST I recently set up an E-TRADE account to prepare myself for retirement (Im 19 I just don't want to fall behind). I have a few questions as I am obviously very new to all of this if anyone wouldn't mind helping me out. I am interested in how selling stocks gets taxed, how do people improve there portfolio and how do you go about paying those taxes? I'm currently working part-time making no more then 13-14 grand a year am I considered in the 15% or lower tax bracket? I also would like some help understanding mutual funds can be brief I just don't know where to start with those. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Mar 2018 08:18 AM PST I don't understand this stock? Someone explain it's valuation. I'm not against it. I just really don't understand why it's a rocketship. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Mar 2018 02:02 PM PST I'm thinking of buying some Costco tomorrow before earning. They seem to have everything going for them. Walmart's Sam club can't compete with costco. Their membership renewal rate is rediculously high (90%). More people are buying cars through their program instead of dealing with dbag car seller. I love shopping at Costco. Anything bad going for Costco that I have over looked? Side question: Does the industry know what Amazon prime renewal rate is? Thoughts? Opinions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Mar 2018 01:49 PM PST Text from article to save work: "The e-commerce giant from China unveiled income from operations of $27 million, marking a 179.1% increase compared to the year-ago quarter. Non-GAAP income from operations reached $29.2 million, which was a 163.6% gain compared to the same quarter a year ago. Baozun's adjusted earnings were higher than the year-ago quarter at 42 cents per share, topping analysts' expectations of adjusted earnings of 31 cents per share. Revenue amounted to $240.6 million, while total revenue surged 23% to $637.7 million, compared to Wall Street's consensus estimate of $245.22 million." [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Mar 2018 01:05 PM PST Here are the facts. values are expressed in millions.
Edit: Also check Amazon, 700B market cap, they out performed apple also 2x. In period of 5 years In a period of 5 years, NVDA out performed apple by 10x. Netflix out performed apple by 10x. If investors invested in NFLX or NVDA they would have made more money despite, apple is beating every number in their financial statements.. Clearly net income does not dictate how much return do shareholders get. But what does? Edited Apple revenue. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Mar 2018 08:00 AM PST Is there any chance Ge may make a comeback? If it can it's clearly a great opportunity to buy looking at it's charts and previous prices. [link] [comments] |
What big private companies/organizations should you buy stocks/shares from when they go public? Posted: 06 Mar 2018 02:25 PM PST SpaceX is one of the organizations on my mind. Who else is private right now? [link] [comments] |
Non Cannabis stocks that can benefit from legalization. Posted: 05 Mar 2018 05:08 PM PST I'm trying to think of industries around actual Cannabis that might benefit. Companies like Scott's Miracle Gro that have already seen huge benefits from local legalization. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Lithium outlook for 2018 and beyond... Posted: 06 Mar 2018 09:25 AM PST From what I have been reading it looks as though supply will greatly outweigh demand in the coming months and years. I have been looking at the charts and am thinking to get out of my LIT position and maybe take a position in a company that stands to profit from lower costs of lithium...Any thoughts? Looking for financials to import into Matlab Posted: 06 Mar 2018 01:09 PM PST As stated in the title, I'm looking for a (free, or cheaper than bloomberg) place where I can extract the financials of companies with Matlab Datafeed toolbox. I have tried Money.net, but they don't have the right 'snapshots' as they call them. You can extract simple things like Bid and Ask and some ratios, however not all, for example, cashflow information. While the information is right there on their website. Does anyone know of or use a place with proper financials data which can be accessed through the datafeed toolbox of Matlab? Thanks in advance! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Posted: 05 Mar 2018 04:10 PM PST I've been looking at Disney jumping in the streaming game as a serious jumping off point for my Netflix shares. I feel they will face tougher competition every day on out from there. I bought in at $90. It's $315 today. The returns seem to good to give up to chance. In two years my shares nearly tripled. I don't see Netflix hitting $900 nearly as fast. I'm willing to take my winnings and diversify it, leaving the original sum in cash for my next guess. What are people's feelings? Can Netflix hit a home run(stock price) again and again for another year? Even if they can am I stupid for not diversifying half the shares for safety? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Mar 2018 10:01 AM PST Anyone else got some Phillip Morris or Altria? Bought awhile back, I really wasn't looking for growth per se as smoking is on the decline especially in the US. They pay a pretty good dividend and sell a highly addictive product though. But recent reports of Altria coming out and saying they basically wanna scale back on actual cigarette production in the future has me wondering what it is they'll be doing? [link] [comments] |
