SMS marketing to get business reviews - r/entrepreneur post Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:18 PM PST Hi, A little while back I recall reading a post on here about a guy who was doing text marketing, where the basis was giving discount code for business reviews. I've tried finding that post but can't find it using the search function for the life of me, would anyone kindly be able to provide the link to that post? (I must've forgotten to save it). Thanks very much! [link] [comments] |

I suck in networking. Please help! Posted: 03 Mar 2018 03:11 AM PST My girlfriend told me that business would be better if I would go and network. I recently went to a fashion show with a networking area. A lot of people there came with friends and colleagues and they seemed to have a great time. How do I behave myself? Do I crush their group and join randomly? What should I do? [link] [comments] |
Launching my Business soon and scared of PayPal. Stripe a better option? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:22 AM PST I have read so many horror stories from Freelancers, Startups and, Entrepreneurs about Paypal freezing their funds and almost ruining their startup or business venture from the get-go. How do I avoid this? Long story short I am launching my own Freelance business soon. Like a lot of new ventures, I will be invested most of the profit back into the business. I do not have room in my budget or business plan for PayPal to screw me over. I am not dealing with drop-shipping or ebay or anything that involves shipping if that makes a difference. Would you guys recommend going with Stripe or is there a way to use PayPal safely? [link] [comments] |
I have one year to do a business plan to start my company. Suggestions on what to prioritize ? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 04:46 AM PST Got my masters degree in sports performance (physical and mental prep). Planning to start a company with my friend from college. We would like optimize any type of "performance"., sports , art , acting, management ,etc. We would like to target pro athletes, CEOs , actors. Does anyone work with high end clients? what are some things we should think about while offering services with these kind of clients? Also going to work in France so law and paperwork is different from US. Thanks a lot edit : the company is athletic training and mental training for professionals. it is not "life coaching" or "motivational speaker" I wrote my thesis in sports psychology and we are licensed by the french federation of psychology. I studied at university in france. To practice life coaching and motivational speaking you don't need a degree, and guru practice is widely frowned upon in my line of work [link] [comments] |
Valuing and selling a breakeven business? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:36 PM PST 18 months ago I opened a brick and mortar service business. Last year, the business pulled in just enough to pay the bills; however, I did not personally take any money. I'd stick with it as the industry is growing leaps and bounds each year, but my heart just isn't in it and I'd really like to get away from B&M businesses. The equipment is worth about $125,000 and I have over 300 clients, most of them recurring, who represent $1000 each over the lifetime of the client (about 18 months). I have $200,000 into it and would be happy just to walk away having not lost any money. The service I offer would be perfect for a plastic surgeon or dermatologist as they are near competitors who would already have the infrastructure, employees, insurances, capital, etc. needed to seamlessly add my service to their list of offerings. I guess what I really want to know is if there's value in my client list that can offset the fact that the business is not yet profitable? [link] [comments] |
What should I know/do before agreeing to a partnership? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 11:41 AM PST I'm in a position I've never been in before. The small company I currently work for is operated by one person, with 5 employees. It is an online school that provides education to children. Because of my skillset, the owner of the school has expressed an interest in becoming partners. I've never owned a business, but it is definitely an aspiration of mine. Until she mentioned this to me, the thought had never crossed my mind. I only worked for the school part-time and did not know much about how the school operated, or the business structure. It seems like a good opportunity for me to explore, but I'd like to know what sort of questions I should have answered before I agree to anything. She feels that the workload is becoming too much, so she is hoping to bring someone else along to smooth things out, and continue to grow the business. [link] [comments] |
Idea opinion: Small-scale 3-D printing facility in India? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 11:21 AM PST Hello, I've been wondering about the viability of setting up a facility with 6-10 3D printers (to-begin with), and I would really appreciate it if some of you could chime in with your opinions on the following questions:

Amazon Affiliate Links in YouTube Description - Do They Need Disclosure? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 02:57 AM PST If one were to place an Amazon Affiliate link in their YouTube video description, would some sort of disclosure message be necessary? I notice a lot of big channels (CaseyNeistat and Rosanna Pansino for example) do not include disclosure but I keep getting mixed answers from around the web. I'm new to this so any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
What could I charge for a tweet? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 10:21 AM PST My Kickstarter is coming up and rather than sell T-shirts as a low tier reward I'm thinking of offering tweets to my nearly 65k followers. All organic growth, in the VR, simulation and gaming space. I figure it's zero cost and I can refund people if they want to tweet something controversial or not appropriate. I have something for the ~$25 reward, so was thinking $65... Thats $1 per 1k followers... Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Asking my contract manufacturer for Net 60 payment terms? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 10:17 AM PST I'll be placing my second order with this manufacturer. The first one I paid half up-front and half just prior to delivery. I'd like a bit more leeway in this one. I'm still kind of green when working with contract manufacturer. Is it appropriate to suggest payment terms of half up front and net 60 for the remainder? I know they have a credit application; would doing Net 60 require my applying for credit? [link] [comments] |
Advice On Selling A Dropshipping Website? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 12:42 PM PST A month or so back, I created the website www.eagerlyexpecting.com . For 2 weeks or so, I worked my ass off to create the site and network on social media. 2 weeks later, I'm no longer motivated and I'm now trying to sell the site. Where would I go about selling the site, and how much do you think I could get for it? I have it listed on shopify exchange, but have gotten little action. [link] [comments] |
Courses on offering a local lead generation service? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 08:10 AM PST Does anyone know any good courses to learn how to offer local lead gen services? Do you think it could be a good side hustle? Build a site like 'lawyer in Bristol' then rank it in Google, then collect leads and pass on to a local lawyer for a fee? Would it work? Any tips on getting started? Many thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2018 04:14 AM PST It's been snowing a lot here recently, it is about knee deep snow on an average person, about chest deep on me, being a shorty. (I kid, it'd about knee deep on me). It's an interesting to see how despite the snow cover making the pathways from the grassways indistinguishable from each other, unless you are a local and know the path routes but nonetheless most of the track marks people leave in the snow are walking along the paths. Even when the path is a longer way that crossing the "grass" which would be the shortest route, as the crow flies. Stange how herd and habit makes people do that, which is otherwise entirely illogical. I don't. I don't think I ever have and even at 31 I still find myself walking over untouched snow really for no other reason than to leave my own trail. I suppose this is what I have always liked about entrepreneurs. They go their own ways and leave their own tracks. They decide at some point, "Fuck it, I am going this way" and when everyone around them says "But …. No one goes that way" they reply, "I know, that is why I am going this way". I get buried in the snow from time to time but I still know the main path would bore the hell out of me. [link] [comments] |
Facebook is going to kill my business! Posted: 03 Mar 2018 07:49 AM PST Guys, I have a big problem with Facebook. I have created a Gmail address for my new business and opened a Facebook account after creating my onlinrshop. I then looked a little bit through the Facebook business adjustment possibilities and went to bed. The next morning my account was frozen. I'm supposed to upload a picture of my passport to confirm my identity. That's what I did. I also created an account with my private mobile phone number. I even came as far as placing a first ad worth $15. This account was then also blocked. Also here I uploaded a photo for verification. It's been a week. Earlier today it became really ridiculous! I have created an account with my private email address (which was previously used to create an account). Immediately after the first login my account was deactivated with the request to upload a photo to confirm my identity. What am I doing wrong? I'm beginning to think my browser is the problem. I'm hoping for a quick response from Facebook, but I've almost given up on that hope. Why does Facebook don't want my money? What can I do now? I need that advertisement for my shop. Otherwise I can quit right here... [link] [comments] |
"Pay for performance" SEO or Adwords? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 03:34 AM PST I'm thinking about paying a company to help me goose my Google rankings on like 7 keywords. I am currently in the top 10 for most, but I want to get to top 5. I've used AdWords in the past, but stopped using them after a while because my organic rankings got so good. I was thinking about going back to AdWords, but stumbled up pay for performance SEO, where you pay a set fee only if you meet the established parameters (ie top 5). Now I'm trying to figure out if one has a distinct advantage over the other. I understand in general that some basic analytics could tell me which way to go (ie if I get more clicks per dollar from one vs the other), but I'm not tech savvy enough to figure it out. Is there a specific service out there that can help me figure out ahead of time which approach makes the most sense for my situation? [link] [comments] |

Advice Needed: How To Turn Down A Client Posted: 02 Mar 2018 07:36 PM PST I'm at a point that I've never encountered before: I need to turn down a client that wants to pay a $1,400 monthly retainer. This is for lead generation for a company that sells mosaic & stone tiles. Primarily use of the tiles are for kitchen backsplash, and showers. Thing is, his prices are far above the big box retailers; and there is nothing unique about his tiles (prices are about 110% of Home Depot). He wants to focus on selling to general contractors nation wide. I have no problem reaching these people, but I know that his prices are just way too high for him to ever make profit off of this venture. My morals may occasionally fall in the gray area, but I'd feel really shitty taking a 3 month down payment for him to make no money. What do I do? How do I break it to him? Or do I just tell him my thoughts, and if he still wants to pay, go ahead with it? Thanks for any input. ** Edit: Typo [link] [comments] |

How do I find out what business will flourish in a town or city? Posted: 02 Mar 2018 07:24 PM PST I have background in electrical and computer engineering and would like to put it to good use. I have done some real estate about a year ago, but was going through some personal issues (porn addiction ) at that time, so I couldn't keep up with it. Now I been sober for close to 250 days and I am full of energy and passion to start something new that will help the community and the people in my city. How do I find out what kind of a business will flourish faster in a local area? I know there are 2 computer repair businesses in the area and that won't be a good choice. I am also not hell-bend on computer repairs. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Mar 2018 07:09 PM PST Hello, just recently moved out of my parents house, and I've helped out a few eCommerce stores that make enough for me to support myself. I'm looking to make connections, meet some friends, and just learn from some experienced people in the game. I code in a few languages, can create websites, run social media channels (I run pages for influencers also at the moment, and have around a 900k reach throughout Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.) I'm willing to help anyone, learn from anyone, and just get out there. If you need any help, or want a VERY motivated kid, I can work for experience and connections alone. Anyway, I created the website for @Trendpie (Twitter based) & was the social media manager. I ran social media campaigns through Influencing friends, and made a good amount of money from it, unfortunately, the IRS made it hard, and since I wasn't 18, they limited my business activity there. So I'm looking for something new. Feel free to contact me on here, or @MathiasCurtis on Twitter! Hope to talk soon! [link] [comments] |
