What qualities can a person develop to be a successful business person?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 07:25 PM PDT

I'm not talking about something you can learn from school. I'm talking about things that you can learn, practice and get from outside sources like books and life experiences. However, aim this advice at somebody who is aspiring to be one but at the moment does not have experience. What would you do?

I just have a curious question. So if someone buys something at walmart, does walmart use it right away or wait to use it? what if the customer wants a refund, does that company have to take the money out of there profit or savings or whatever?

Landlord is uncooperative and screwed me

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 07:10 PM PDT

I had been trying to sell my business for about a year and finally had a buyer. My lease is done on Sunday and had been trying to have my landlord and this buyer make a new lease for 2 months now. Landlord told me that's it's not of my business about this new lease and says I can't talk for this new buyer. I understand, but he is very good at ignoring people for weeks as I have experienced. So sure enough after I stop bother him, I get a text today from the buyer saying "I'm sorry, I don't think I can go through with this deal anymore, I can't sign a lease with a landlord who doesn't respond to me. even after multiple requests to meet face to face, he doesn't ever."

So now I'm stuck about to have to sign another lease for a business I no longer want on Sunday. I don't think there is anything I can do in terms of legal action against him without taking risks of my own. I guess I'm screwed?

How to Capture Employee Ideas, Suggestions & Concerns?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 06:06 PM PDT

Hey r/business, I work for a large apparel manufacturer based in the US and have been tasked w/ the concept of capturing my fellow co-worker's ideas, suggestions & concerns regarding processes / procedures / workflows. We have gone through a recent restructure and feel that it would be a good time to vet out these concerns before we get re-stuck in our old ways.

Does anyone have suggestions for books / articles / resources regarding this concept? I'm looking for anything from how to capture employees voices, to what type of idea's / concerns to entertain, and how to actually review and act on these suggestions. If there is a better subreddit that could lead me in the right direction, please share!

    Thanks!
