I have two w-2s from previous employers that I have not yet claimed. These also happen to be from previous years so I was wondering how I should go about claiming these (fwi I have no idea where the forms are). I would appreciate your help.

    Goldman Interview

    Posted: 08 Feb 2018 09:05 PM PST

My apologies if this is the wrong sub to post in. I have an upcoming interview with Goldman Sachs for an analyst position within the investment management division. Was simply looking for some insight on interview tips with Goldman (and helpful answers to the typical "Why Goldman Sachs?" type questions).

    Average daily trading volume?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2018 09:43 AM PST

    Hi guys,

Does anyone know a free source for average daily trading volume by ticker? I have a list of tickers (quite large) of all US stocks and would like to see their ADV. It doesn't need to be real time data, just month end type of numbers.

What should I negotiate to add to my sub par salary?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2018 01:39 AM PST

Value needs to be added to what I am getting out of the company that I work for. I am crucial to the business, and also enjoy my job. I've been told point blank that my salary will not be higher than a certain amount, which is below the market related salary. (it is a family business-shocker) So, I am pushing for as much as I can get, and am also trying to negotiate non-salary perks, such as supplemented Day Care, Health Insurance, Extra Bonus, etc. I would love to hear ideas about things that can be covered by the company that will save me money in the long run.

Does trading stocks enrich the company being traded?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2018 03:03 PM PST

General question. Simply trying to understand how our(US) financial system works. Is it a common misconception that trading stocks is a business investment?

Bob investing 1k in a donut shop versus 1k in the stock market(non-IPO or secondary offering). Let's use AMZN. Which actually enriches the firm in question? My initial thought is the donut shop because it is receiving 1k in cash while AMZN already got its capital from its IPO. The 1k traded in the market is simply enriching(in most cases) the person or firm selling its share of AMZN.

"I'm creating wealth for society because I am investing in the stock market" Opinion: I feel that statement is intellectually dishonest.

Edit: Hypothetically, if I purchased 100 shares of AMZN today. Generally, my aim is to only enrich myself. My purchase of 100 shares today only benefits the people/person or firm(s) that sold me those 100 shares. Personal "story": My mom actually owns some shares of AMZN... she doesn't think that her holding shares of AMZN is creating wealth for society.

24yrs old, zero debt with stable income, looking to get a credit card to build credit

    Posted: 08 Feb 2018 05:01 PM PST

I know next to nothing about credit cards, as my parents discouraged getting one throughout college despite me wanting to get one. Now that I'm independent I want to get one but know nothing outside basic research. Does anyone have any insight, experiences they want to share, or any type of input about the different kinds of credit card out there? Thanks in advance!

How will Wells Fargo meet the growth restrictions that the Fed slapped the bank with?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2018 04:40 PM PST

News for those that haven't heard: https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2018/02/03/583014020/fed-slaps-unusual-penalty-on-wells-fargo-following-widespread-consumer-abuses

So my question is how does Wells Fargo comply with this? Since they will continue to take deposits, open new accounts, etc (assuming they grow more assets than they lose during regular business operations), how do they get excess assets off their books?
