The Dow is down 550 points, worst market day of Trump Presidency Posted: 02 Feb 2018 11:29 AM PST Update: Not necessarily being political citing Trump, more just as a marker. Though he has tied himself explicitly to the market's performance, so I suppose such information is now inherently political. [link] [comments] |

How daily planning can jump-start your business Posted: 02 Feb 2018 06:46 PM PST For disclaimer, this is a completely detailed article on daily planning (so you can skip a few things that you already know). This post includes:
*Why daily planning is crucial for a business for achieving its goals *How to plan daily to achieve the goals *5 Planners that I prefer to use *A few tips to efficient daily planning *How to handle business obstacles as a part of daily planning *How it can help a business succeed *How to involve your team (co-workers and employees) in daily planning
I usually start my day by planning it in the morning. I set 3 most priority tasks that I need to finish by the end of the day. And this makes my whole day go really smooth by ensuring that the important tasks are taken care of.
But sometimes I get caught up in the daily routine and do not get time to plan. This makes my whole day get scattered. I start by checking my website analytics, Facebook, mails and then get caught up in responding to mailers, which was clearly not my priority. This is one of the reasons that planning your day is crucial in personal and professional life. Whether you are a freelancer or an entrepreneur, planning your days daily is a crucial thing so that you can sort your tasks and work on your actual priority tasks.
Let's talk about the benefits of daily planning & why to plan daily:
Free from stress After planning things are already sorted. All your tasks have their specific time to be taken care at. All employees and co-workers have been provided their parts of tasks.
Hence you are relieved from the stress that you still need to take care of a task or to hand over a task to some employee.
Clean mind When you do not plan, everything that needs to be done in that day stays on the top of your head: I have to do this and this, and assign this to this person and lots more. And still you won't be able to figure it out how to do all these because it is scattered.
But after you've written things down, everything starts making sense and you'll be able to plan effectively. After that you don't have to remember each task at the top of your head so you can now use that freed up mind attentively in the task you are doing.
Otherwise you'd be wandering for how-can-I-finish-off-this-task-to-quickly-grab-hold-of-the-next-one (or what-is-the-next-one).
Increased focus When things are planned, you don't have to think about it again. You already know what to do next, hence you won't get distracted by something that is not important (as those tasks are already taken care of).
Hence, planning ahead helps you focus only on the task that you are doing.
Goals become Achievable You can achieve your goals if daily planning is done properly.
Just taking 15 minutes a day to plan makes a huge difference in how you can change your day to a successful one.
A look at your goals daily and then planning accordingly gets you and your business closer to your business goals.
Obstacles, huh Proper planning includes preparation for what to do when some obstacle or interrupting tasks come up. Such a planning will help you focus on your business priorities.
For instance, if you know that there is a meeting coming up which might take longer unnecessarily, & you have a more important task to handle after the meeting. In such a case you can pre-plan what to do to cut short the meeting and hence, you have more time for your business's actual priorities.
