Softbank has been buying $S like a mad man Posted: 06 Jan 2018 05:56 AM PST |
For those who invest by Dollar Cost Averaging Posted: 06 Jan 2018 07:27 AM PST Has it worked for you? As well, do you take into account the transaction fee? For me, it's $10CAD per trade. If I Dollar Cost Average $5000, that's $120 in transaction fees. [link] [comments] |
TER - Can anyone help me analyze my company's stock? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 11:02 AM PST I've been working at Teradyne (TER) for 8 years and have accumulated ~1200 shares through benefits. These shares represent a very large share of my personal portfolio (excluding 401K). I feel incredibly exposed to any shift in the stock price and have been stressing about it more than I'd like. I want to sell a substantial portion and re-balance my portfolio but the stock has been doing very well since Q2 2016. Can anyone offer me any advice or insight on the stock from an unbiased perspective? I intend to use this account to purchase a home in 3-5 years. Unfortunately, my area requires a massive down payment to enter the market at the lowest levels. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2018 10:18 AM PST Been looking recently at some of these younger biotech companies, lots of new bills and laws passing for new types of drugs that these companies can create. What do we think of investing into Biotech companies and where do we think they will go? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2018 06:51 AM PST That was quite a move. Anyone know what's going on? Thoughts on what Monday's price action might bring? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2018 09:11 AM PST Could anyone suggest me some companies looking and researching neuroscience? I was looking for something but only found blackrock microsystem which I don't even understand if it's listed anywhere or not. Is there a specific market segment where I can find such companies? Activision Blizzard inc. (ATVI)? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 07:19 AM PST What do we think of ATVI, and where will it take us in terms of long term growth? [link] [comments] |
Any platform to purchase US/Canadian stocks in Europe? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 09:40 AM PST Hi, I'm a non european living in Germany and I want to buy a single specific stock which happens to belong to the Canadian market. Does anyone know a platform to purchase CA or US stocks from Europe? [link] [comments] |
Pick 2 out of 3: $JNJ, $MCD, $LMT Posted: 06 Jan 2018 11:38 AM PST Aiming to diversify my tech-heavy portfolio for a long-term dividend stock to buy and hold. Actually exiting my position in $T for one of these, I'd rather have the smaller dividend for better growth in one of the 3 above. I guess it comes down to which sectors one thinks it is more important to diversify into? Healthcare, consumer food, or defense? Gonna wait for a small pull back before I purchase, the entire market has been red hot recently, with MCD and LMT looking more highly valued currently. Though the time horizon is long so I won't be too picky on the exact price and can average in later. Let me know what you think! [link] [comments] |
What software do you use for technical analysis? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 07:18 AM PST For those that use technical analysis to look at your stocks, what software do you use? Senior economics major and I'd love to do some :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2018 01:30 PM PST As a fairly new company and a great concept, RDFN seems like a great long term investment, thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Do you guys know any website, where I can scearch for stocks based on trends? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 12:48 PM PST For example I want all stocks with 1 Bill$<marketcap in the artificial-intelligense sector [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2018 06:01 AM PST Trying to get better at observing and figuring out which stocks to buy. American electric looks to have good growth potential and is currently on a dip. Is it a good investment to buy this stock right now? If not, what are indicators that would make you think otherwise? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2018 11:47 AM PST I'm talking about industries such as AI, Self-Driving Cars, Robotic Surgery, Drones, Cannabis, etc. What do you guys see being big in the future and can still get in on in the stock market to make big $$? [link] [comments] |
What caused the recent $MZOR rise? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 07:39 PM PST Mazor robotics have grown pretty rapidly this year. I'm not sure if it's that great of a buy atm. Do you guys have any idea what is causing this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jan 2018 11:38 PM PST Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has used the Hawkeye Volume indicator or the Better Volume Indicator on there charts? What benefits do you see compared to using the standard Volume by time indicator ? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Why does this sub not work on mobile? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 10:44 AM PST Whenever I am on this sub on my phone on the desktop version of the site, it starts freaking out. Anyone else Experience this? [link] [comments] |
Interactive Brokers deposit fee Posted: 06 Jan 2018 08:39 AM PST I have switched from TDA to IB to save on commission costs. However, it seems like deposit fees are 1% with 50$ minimum. This seems kinda high, especially if I do a monthly recurring deposit. Can anybody weigh in on this please? [link] [comments] |
Someone explain how warrants work Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:54 PM PST Can you exercise a warrant before it's end date like and option Aka what's the difference between warrants and options [link] [comments] |
Question regarding the practice of issuing an option Posted: 05 Jan 2018 06:05 PM PST An example will help illustrate my confusion: Company A is trading on the stock exchange for $1.00. They've put out a notice that they've issued "1,000,000 unlisted options (with an exercise price of $0.40 and expiry date of <date>) for $400,000" I am assuming that the company has done this to raise capital (the $400k)? I'm struggling to understand the 'fairness' of this transaction. The new investor is getting a significant discount on the price they pay per stock compared to everyone else using the stock exchange. Then, when the expiry date comes around, any outcome (apart from a 60% catastrophic crash) will mean they make money, at the expense of all the other shareholders. To me, it just seems a bit shady. Like, the people running the company have allocated a portion of the company for much less than it is worth (at today's price), and, in a way that most people can't do, too. Am I missing something here? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jan 2018 10:15 PM PST What's your thoughts on Sorrento Therapeutics? They're releasing a their "game changing" drug on the 6th? [link] [comments] |
Why would anyone buy a call option already deeply ITM (ex. in description)? Posted: 06 Jan 2018 06:40 AM PST Still learning about options. BABA, currently at $190 has calls with a Strike Price of $150 with the bids at 40.45. Why would anyone buy this? Note: these are Calls for January 26, 2018. [link] [comments] |
