Life Pro Tip: Write the follow-up email now Posted: 24 Jan 2018 11:10 PM PST Ok this one may be obvious to many of you, but when you tell someone "I will touch base with you in a month" or the like write the touch base email now and use something like boomerang to schedule it to be sent in a month's time. B2B: What's your most effective prospecting tactic? Posted: 25 Jan 2018 12:05 PM PST We just completed a prospecting study where we surveyed 488 buyers, but we're always interested in what sellers think. For B2B sellers, what do you believe is your most effective prospecting tactic? Email? Phone? Direct Mail? What has worked and what hasn't? We hope the responses will be helpful to others. Posted: 25 Jan 2018 11:44 AM PST Anyone have any experience or success stories here? My company just adopted this and I'm finding it cumbersome so far. [link] [comments] |
How do I proceed after my pricing proposal? Posted: 25 Jan 2018 12:32 AM PST So we met a big hospital for some consumables and we proposed a price to them. I got a "your price is many times our budget" response. Can I ask how much is their budget? It is not the same as our competitor pricing right? I have no idea what my competitors prices are. How do I proceed ? Im so new to this Im struggling. [link] [comments] |
Business to business sales - retirement plans- I'm thinking about trying out malls? Posted: 25 Jan 2018 09:52 AM PST Has anyone tried cold walking in malls? My script would be simple and direct. Any feedback would be great. Also, with it being so cold and wet out do you have any other spots that are good to cold walk? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2018 09:39 AM PST Hey guys, I'm from Germany and just started getting into sales. Because there are some differences between US and German/Europe sales industry I was wondering if there is a similar german website/forum like r/sales? Do any of you guys know of a similar website? Sales CV / Resume examples - Non-Sales background Posted: 25 Jan 2018 07:11 AM PST Im struggling to find any solid examples of CVs/Resumes of non-sales people moving in to sales. Ive worked in investment bank operations role and ive had my CV done professionally (geared towards finance/consulting). So currently my CV has project examples that show leadership, communication and analytical abilities - and tangible results, i.e. pitched process enhancement to senior managers, resulted in 100 hrs per month saved etc. but im honestly not sure how best to put it across to SaaS sales. Obviously going from sales to sales you can show quotas. If anyone has an example it would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |
This is not the right sub, but I hope you can help me find this post Posted: 25 Jan 2018 06:52 AM PST The search function on this website is shit. I thought I saved a post regarding a guy who went through some marketing course (?) and posted all of the materials for free with a code on their website. I have no idea what sub it was in and I found nothing doing a websearch or reddit search. I believe in the title was "marketing" "seo" and/or "free" I am doing sales and since this is a startup, we don't really have any marketers which is why I wanted to learn some techniques [link] [comments] |
Why does putting your resume online lead to so many insurance sales job offers? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 01:22 PM PST So I have been looking for a new sales position and have thus put my resume online. This has lead to at least 3 insurance sales position offers a week. They just don't give up! But a funnier one came through the other day, it was the 4th one in two days and the 2nd from that exact same company. But when I responded, the rabbit hole went deeper than I imagined Link. I figured you guys would appreciate it. Also, before I get a bunch of hate mail from insurance salesman, I have nothing against you as a salesman or person, I just personally believe with today's technology, we could do with a few less of you. But its not just you. I think technology will replace quite a few sales fields (and it has started to already in some cases.) [link] [comments] |
Can a quick promotion make up for quick move? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 06:05 PM PST So after my forst month in sales I most likely will be moving from appointment setter to closing. I want to stay on for a while at my current company but maybe not the suggested minimum 1 year. Would this fast promotion look good enough to transition if I were to look after lets say 6 months? SaaS for service based businesses looking for sales consultant recommendations. Posted: 24 Jan 2018 03:03 PM PST We are a small 5 man SaaS team focused on bidding and scheduling for service based businesses like window cleaners, lawn care. We need someone to help guide us with our automated sales emails, sales calls, and overall sales strategy. We just hired a company to help us plan and execute a social strategy, but that is just bringing in the leads, we need to close them easier and more often. We have a reasonable budget to pay for the help. Any recommendations for consultants you have worked with would be awesome! Thanks so much for any help. [link] [comments] |
Online software platform/website that allows conferencing and dialing out Posted: 24 Jan 2018 09:30 PM PST Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of a platform/website that I can do a voice chat with my boss and then we can dial out together to prospects so we can practice cold calling together as opposed to having to meet in person. right now we're doing iPhone 3 way calling which doesn't work well because were only able to merge said calls once the prospect picks up which is a little weird and hard to do, lol. Thanks, Guys! [link] [comments] |
Looking forward to importer/distributor/dealer in Sweden for the toilet rim block. Posted: 24 Jan 2018 09:24 PM PST I have tried very hard on Internet survey for weeks to find channels in Sweden for our toilet rim block but nothing worthy. I ask for everyone's advice. Sales executives leading technical teams? Opinions, comments, and experiences? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 01:42 PM PST Hello! I'm looking for some perspectives from sales executives who have been asked (or are currently) to lead a technical team like Professional Services, project management, developers, etc. I'm a lifelong professional services technical consultant. At almost every company I've worked at, at some point they have restructured professional services to report into sales. I have my opinion on this subject, which are overwhelming negative based on my experiences. Professional services isn't a revenue team, so my objectives are different and because the sales executive I'm reporting to is measured on the revenue yardstick, we often butt heads on what is important for our clients and how we serve them. I'd like some perspective from the other side. Any comments and experiences would be appreciated. I'm writing a blog article on the matter and I would love that perspective to be incorporated into my next release. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

How to deal with unqualified demos Posted: 24 Jan 2018 01:10 PM PST Hey guys! Just started building out our new SDR team and ran into a qualification issue. So right now, SDRs get paid for demos they set with prospects that are Director level or higher in an organizations HR department. Anything below a Director level is unqualified However this is leading to a tough situation. The VP or Director of HR have been passing off our SDRs to someone in the manager level and the managers are interested in scheduling the demo. So now we have an unqualified demo that the SDR doesn't get paid on and the account executives don't want to take because it's unlikely to close. How do we solve for this? Do we still give the manager level prospect a demo and SDRs don't get paid? Or just say sorry can't set the demo and tarnish our brand? [link] [comments] |
An Insight into Sales Development Rep Statistics and what they mean Posted: 24 Jan 2018 05:50 PM PST I created an infographic based on some SDR statistics that I found, you can see it here Analysing the Sales Development Rep Data While these are general Sales Development Rep statistics, analysing these stats suggest that 12.6% of calls result in a positive and productive conversation, according to One Page CRM. It also suggests that the average Sales Development Rep isn't making enough contact attempts to produce optimal results. Many reps quit after 4 or 5 attempts, falling way below the average of 8.2 tries. But it seems 8.2 attempts aren't enough either. InsideSales found that The Sales Development Rep who makes 12 contact attempts performs 16% better than those who contact less. If you've already tried a prospect 8 times, you only have to try another 4 (and mix it up via different mediums) to increase your chances of a positive outcome dramatically. Sales Development Rep Problems to Solve It becomes problematic when stats suggest some Sales Development Reps waste up to 40% of their time looking for someone to call. This could be because there is not a proper follow-up schedule/cadence, or that not enough leads are being produced or provided. A Sales Development Rep will be able to increase their call volume if leads are provided for them. This means they can focus on calling rather than prospecting, and not only hone their phone skills, but also set a larger number of meetings, resulting in more deals closed. How do you stack up compared to these stats? [link] [comments] |
How do you find salaries for positions with varying titles? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 04:58 PM PST I currently work as an SDR for a genetics laboratory, but noticed a position available for a "Sales Support Representative" which is basically a field assistant to the field sales rep. I've tried researching with Indeed/Glassdoor, but can't seem to nail down a salary range for this position. It would be nice to get experience in field sales for this industry, but I'd like to know what I'm going up for before I stick my neck out. [link] [comments] |

Hiring salesmen, in this case, do or dont? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 04:03 PM PST When I usually imagine call centers I imagine telemarketers+massive call lists. What if you have only like 200 potential businesses in one area and you want a small team of hot shots to close your deals? In this case each sale could equate to as much as 10k to 50k+ so the commissions would be juicy. Are there killer sales teams out there for hire like mercenaries? I need rangers not infantry. Lateral move as a SDR - any advice? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 03:40 PM PST Hey guys, I'm currently an SDR at a computer software company. There are 2 SDR's at this company, and we both are average performers, we haven't hit our goal #'s at all in the past 6 months, but have come pretty close. The VP of Sales is looking to adjust the monthly meetings set because of that. He's a great guy to work with. The culture here is great, it's not tech sales bro culture, nor is it a farm for SDR's. However, there's not too much invested in the sales team. 6 months in, they finally sent us to a Sandler Training on cold calling. They also don't have a prospecting tool like ZoomInfo or DiscoverOrg. I've been using ReferenceUSA and SalesNav to prospect from. There's no clear growth path here. The AE's have been here for 10+ years. I recently interviewed at another place and got an offer. They pay more and are hiring me in mind to become a SDR manager. I would be the only SDR till their part time guy graduates from school. My salary would go up 10k, and commissions would be uncapped. If I were to take the offer, I would get them to put it in paper that the SDR manager role would be guaranteed based on performance. They also have heavily invested in their sales team with Salesforce and ZenProspect. I'm worried that it will look strange that I moved onto another company as an SDR just after six months to another SDR role. Any advice? [link] [comments] |
