Saas Account Executives, do you make over 200k/yr? Posted: 20 Feb 2022 03:53 PM PST I'm just wondering how common is it for saas AEs to make over 200k a year. On Glassdoor, I see AEs usually top out around 180,000, very rarely do I see salaries top that number unless it's an enterprise position [link] [comments] |
How important is it to have a degree? Posted: 21 Feb 2022 02:52 AM PST If I want to branch out to different sales jobs how important is it for me to have a college degree? For context say I want to get into tech sales. Or B2B Collection Sales. Is it frowned upon if I don't have a college degree? [link] [comments] |
Starting a sales role tomorrow with 0 experience Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:34 AM PST I've got 0 experience with sales, targets etc. I've never been interested in sales and have never done any research on sales. The most experience with sales I have was watching Wolf of Wall Street when it was new. I managed to come across as someone worthy enough to hire for a delivery/courier/transport company that needs a BDA (I'm starting as a junior). I got the interview via a recommendation by someone who knew the owner of said company. I had no time to prepare for the interview but I got hired on the spot. I didn't lie; I was upfront and the first thing I said was about me having literally zero experience or knowledge on the role. I start tomorrow. How do I go about getting good? Where can I learn, what do I need to know etc? [link] [comments] |
SaaS BDR - Career Dev Convo with Management, How to Approach? Posted: 20 Feb 2022 08:44 PM PST Hi Everyone, I've been at my company for ~9months sitting at 95% quota in a team with only a handful of BDRs. I have a call next week with my direct manager and the director of our team to talk about career development. Promotions are coming soon (spring/summer), and it's expected that I drive the conversation/provide an agenda. Would appreciate some advice on how to approach this in terms of how to structure the conversation and what would be good questions to ask them. They've also stated they want to know how they can best support me in the process of becoming a great candidate for when internal interviews come around. For context, I've spent time outside of work preparing myself for an AE role (qualification, product knowledge, closing, etc.) using gong and other resources and want to make sure that comes across in the conversation. Would really appreciate the insight of the community here! Thanks very much [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:41 AM PST I'm starting a SaaS SDR job here in Japan next month. It'll be my first time in a sales role of this nature. Up until now, I was just in recruiting... which wasn't very hard, and I am expecting a whole new and wildly different field. Naturally, I have been looking for good study material, so I've come to find to sub reddit. As some of you may know, culture and business aren't the same everywhere you go. For those of you who work in places with wildly different cultures, have you felt that the stuff you read/learned in the popular sales books applies everywhere well? I'd love to hear about your experiences. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2022 08:00 PM PST Started up as a fully remote SDR last Fall and still haven't attended any in-person events yet due to COVID. Our in-person SKO is coming up, and without having an in-office vibe for what people wear, I'm a bit lost on how to pack. We've been told "business casual", but from what I've seen online, that ranges from dark jeans and a polo to dress pants and a blazer/sports coat. One thing to keep in mind, it will be in a pretty hot part of the US, so the idea of a blazer is already making me sweat. Any advice or recommendations on what I should be wearing? Posted: 21 Feb 2022 12:49 AM PST Hey all! Every month, hundreds of startups raise money. Those companies are great potential customers because they have growing needs and money to spend on them. But repeatedly finding those startups and verifying all the data points and contact details for targeting takes tons of hours of research and effort. I created a monthly newsletter that sends 500+ fast-growing startups, with contact details and metadata verified by me, so Sales etc. can focus on outreach. Sharing a sample here: I hope some of you will find it useful! I'd love any feedback (love or hate), no matter how brutal : ) I only want to create things that people really love. If you enjoyed this tool, have any ideas for how to improve it, I want to hear from you. Just PM me or comment below anytime. [link] [comments] |
Personal Trainer looking to move into a sales job. Posted: 20 Feb 2022 08:55 PM PST At the moment, I am a Personal Trainer. My job has alot of selling myself, my programs, and the Gyms in which I work. At the moment, business is very slow with Covid so money is getting tight. Wondering if anyone has transitioned from PT to a Sales job and how it went ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Feb 2022 12:16 AM PST How many salespeople here use the upfront contract at the start of a sales call? Curious if the method my firm uses adds value, or if it's used so often that prospects are aware of it / it sounds like every other call? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2022 11:26 PM PST I'm a 39yo woman who up until recently, and from 2015, ran my own business importing / being a UK distributor for construction product (KBB industry). Business held its own through covid / Brexit but I was increasingly becoming fed up with customs / delivery issues and was seeking some economic stability. Applied and interviewed for a job in Oct 2021 for much bigger company who sells similar product and got it (specification sales). Started beginning of Nov. Closed up business which was a relief. New job all going well in terms of job itself / colleagues great but there are a few major problems with it that I knew about when I took it that meant I was only going to do it for a year max. The job is predominantly office based in London (4 days with 1 field based day). My commute is 4.5hours return and is hard on my family. I've spoken to sales director about wfh but job is mainly client facing so not much flex. I have invested in an annual season ticket which has cost me £7k (saves me a lot compared to monthly ticket) but is refundable if I want to cancel it. Pay, commission and benefits aren't great and only person I know making good ££ has been doing same job for 15 years !!This job was essentially a side step back into corporate working after years of self employment. So this brings me to now. I've been thinking about how to use my skills, rapidly increase income and have a better work / life / hybrid working balance. Having looked into saas roles in construction industry, this looks perfect for me and I've been doing aspireship course / reading everything I can on saas. So this brings me to my question…wwwyd?

Posted: 20 Feb 2022 02:10 PM PST Hello, I have been doing car sales for 2 years and made 96k last year at 21 years old. I am on track to making it this year as well. My managers have promised moving to a management position if I stay with the company. I know I can sell anything. I crush it at selling cars and I am constantly in first or second place. Here is my dilemma, I feel like if I am not moving forward I get stuck. Also the other downside is the long hours and working weekends. I would love to have more free time. I would love to try another type of sales such as medical device or SAAS. Do you have any advice for me? Should I stay here or move to another path? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 20 Feb 2022 06:49 PM PST I am very interested in a TM position at this company. The same position seems to be available in several locations at once. During my LinkedIn exploration of current and former employees, I have noticed a number of patters. Here are a few: 1) Many of the departed TMs were only with the company for two years before they jumped ship to one of the startups I mentioned in the title of the post. 2) These TMs left in clusters as the startups grew. Before the first round of TMs left, there appear to be two rounds of upper sales management that switched. It looks like people brought their teams with them. 3) The people in sales who remain are either: a) part of the company's highest level of leadership and have been with the company for a long time or b) have been a TM with the company for less than two years. What do you all think are potential reason for these huge movements? I have imagined a few scenarios. One of them is probably good and two are... less good. Before I apply to this position, I want to talk to some of the current team. How should I get them to open up? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
