Business bank account troubleshooting: Poor personal credit

    Posted: 24 Feb 2022 10:41 PM PST

I was advised by a CPA that my fiancé and I can run a business out of a personal bank account so long as the account is used solely for business transactions.

Well, we set up our personal account and a website and began accepting customer payments. It wasn't until we went to payout to our account that the card processor attempted to verify our account. Then they told us we can only transfer the funds to a business account with the business name on it. We have tried half a dozen banks and do not qualify for a business bank account due to poor personal credit. Our customer payments are tied up with the online credit/debit card processor (almost $800 in transactions already) and they are now advising we refund customers and find a different method for charging them. This would be fine if the processor wasn't going to keep a portion of the refund from customers for their processing fees. I feel it would be so unprofessional to only give customers a partial refund due to this processor accepting payments before verifying my banking info.

TLDR: is there a way to get a business bank account with poor credit so that I don't have to issue these partial refunds? Is what the card processor did ethical…or even legal??

    Indicators of a progressive/inclusive business?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 01:30 AM PST

I'm entering a short story contest, and in my story I'm trying to describe why a character chose a workplace she thought was inclusive and protective of workers' rights. What could be the reasons for this?

Are there any common rating systems/review organisations? What particular company documents/lists of policies can show this? How would an applicant most likely learn about it?

Sorry for the complete lack of knowledge, I know nothing about this. Thank you!

Hide distractions on Youtube w/o blocking youtube.com - notifies accountability partner if you uninstall

    Howdy!

I made a desktop app and browser extension that blocks distractions on Youtube during working hours without blocking the site entirely (blocking youtube.com). You can't uninstall it in a moment of temptation to be lazy without your accountability partner immediately finding out.
