after speaking with Great Lakes where my loans are consolidated I am confused Posted: 24 Feb 2022 07:15 PM PST I have been paying on my IDR plan for 8 years now and called Great Lakes to make sure everything is ready to go when payments start back up again. Upon speaking to the customer service I inquired about my final payment being somewhere in 2033 and wanted to confirm what would happen next. I may have not understood correctly but they didn't seem to confirm that my loans would be forgiven at that time. I am not very good with how all these loans work, could I have not understood this correctly? is there a light at the end of the IDR tunnel or is the plan a huge pause button and at the end you have to find another plan to pay the loan off? Dropping out of physical therapy school Posted: 25 Feb 2022 06:23 AM PST Quick summary: just turned 26 and I am enrolled in a 4 year online physical therapy program that charges 110k total (crazy, I know). I live at home and work about 15-20hrs a week making 18/hour. I have already taken out 55k for this program and I had 15k loans from undergrad putting me at about 70k total. I have two years left but My outlook and optimism about physical therapy has declined drastically over the past few months. I mainly got in because of my love for exercise and the human body. I also learned I am way more money driven than majority of the ppl in my program. My question is, would it be smart to forgo the rest of this program and avoid the additional 55k loans? If so, what other professions would allow me to recoup that money with the least amount of debt most ppl has told me physician assistant or nursing but that would be an additional 2-3 years depending on when I start and the cost of education [link] [comments] |
What’s the chances that student loan debt will be cancelled? Posted: 25 Feb 2022 05:42 AM PST Just got my tax return and basically it + a couple grand in savings is enough to pay off the rest of my loans and be done forever (12k). What's the chances I pay of it t and sometime within the next year they cancel student loan debt lol [link] [comments] |
Co-Signer Dies & I filed for bankruptcy Posted: 25 Feb 2022 05:00 AM PST Can someone please advise if I am still required to pay these loans back? My grandma pasted away and I can find a job. Is this debt still going to stay with me? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2022 10:49 PM PST I am thinking of attending school this year but I don't have much savings. I'm definitely getting a loan but do you think it would be enough to support my education? I am also planning to work part time during that time but I'm scared that maybe I am just rushing it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2022 10:46 PM PST I'm about to start college for the first time. I'm a mom of a 2 year old, and I'm the breadwinner of my family. I work about 42 hours a week and make 55k a year. I pay $1200 a month for rent and about $1200 in other bills. Not sure how demanding school will be, but I don't think I'll be able to work, go to school, and be a mom full time. So I plan to quit my job and take on student debt. If anyone has any advice I'm all ears. I'm getting anxiety already🙃 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2022 07:57 PM PST My REPAYE amount changed from 2/18 ($351) to a new notification dated 2/23 ($511) why would this change? I didn't submit anything new between these two notifications…? My salary hasn't changed? Do I have any recourse? [link] [comments] |

incorrect 1098-E on refinanced loan Posted: 24 Feb 2022 05:20 PM PST Hello, I refinanced ~$80,000 Sallie Mae loans in June to Earnest and my 1098-E says that they received $15,867 in interest. My 1098-E from Earnest states that I paid $1319. Should I include the Sallie Mae document in my taxes? [link] [comments] |
